Love watching your educational videos. Love seeing the work on the old Chevy truck. Can't wait to see you out driving the old truck.

3:15 The condenser does cool the freon. The freon is hot from being compressed by the compressor.

Yes... the Freon goes in very hot and comes out warm. Some of the heat absorbed by the Freon was removed. Thank you for the view and that comment.

My 96 Tahoe had the orifice tube in the condenser. I bought a used condenser and they removed the tube. I was wondering why my a/c didn’t work. When I put in the first can. The compressor came on and just ran nonstop. I was going to reuse my old orifice tube until I pulled it out. It was dirty as hell. After installing a new one. The a/c got a lot colder.

Watching Uncle Tony's garage he talks about the new condenser Parts made for the old points distributor go bad frequently. It would be great if we could make our own condensor. I have a 1992 Nissan hardbody n the starters go bad after daily driving in six months. I have 340,000 miles n the original looking ac works great. A video on how to fix these remanufactured starters ourselves would be great if possible. Love to hear your input on this.

Starters should last six years, not six months.
There are seven sections of the starter that can wear out. From the high amp contacts in the solenoid to the metal bushings that hold the armature.
If you keep going through the drive pinion gear, you probably have a bad flywheel ring gear.
If you know what section is failing, maybe I can offer some suggestions.
Thank you for the views and the question.

Question: If the orifice tube is located at the beginning of the high pressure right after the condenser, doesn't it loose performance? because the refrigerant is now cold but still flowing through a hot space (inside engine compartment).
Or does it really not matter?? One I can think of is. it make the lines all sweaty and possibly drip all over inside firewall?

I don't understand why they, the engineers, did that and YES it reduces the performance. Instead of absorbing the head from the passenger compartment, engine compartment heat (lots of it) is absorbed into to very cold liquid line.
Sometimes they put a foam around the line to help.
Thank you for the view and that awesome question.

My only complaint is this video is too short.

That's all very nice, but you didn't explain why 1) You prefer the newer replaceable dryer on the condenser? and 2) when and how often does this newer dryer require replacement? "I try not to assume anything"!
Your statement. NEEDS TO BE REPLACED EVERY SINGLE TIME! Every single time what???

Thank you for the view and your input. Officially, anytime the system is opened to replace any component, the drying element "Should" be replace. Thanks again.
Some driers are "Heck" to replace because of their location.
