      Le Göune I mean what he did was terrible but at least he didn’t kill his wife and child - what some men who tire of his family, do. He ran away. Not a huge crime. He chose his life a life in hiding in fear and avoiding people. Lots of men leave without explanation (just divorcing), and although it’s sad it’s not a horrific crime.

      Miss Viking you can make anything seem better by saying “at least he didn’t didn’t kill his family !!” this guy knew he was the primary source of income for this family, knew they’d be worried he was dead, knew he’d leave his kids without a father. it’s a really really terrible thing to do.

    • @kameron.r
      @kameron.r 4 роки тому +44

      Miss Viking it’s the fact he left his wife and kids. If u not happy get a divorce. He affected his children a lot. They didn’t know if he was dead or what happen to him. Basically didn’t have closure over losing him. Couldn’t bury him, know truly that he was dead

    This story really affected me. My dad did the same thing when I was 7. He took off with his girlfriend to Colorado for 2 years. For 2 years we didn't know if he was even alive. I felt so heartbroken. I blamed myself. I thought I must have been a really horrible child for my dad to just leave like that. When in reality, I was a well behaved, obedient, kind and sweet little girl who deserved a father who loved her. He was also the sole income for our family of 7 children. He left us with no car and utterly destitute in a rural area with few resources. We didn't hear from him again until his girlfriend committed suicide. I still spent the rest of my childhood without him, but at least then we knew he was alive.
    What this dad in the story did was even shittier than what my dad did and that's saying a lot. I really related to what his son wrote in that letter. I know those feelings well. I'm so sorry that he ended turning to drugs. Prison is not the moral or compassionate societal reaction to drug addiction. People in that situation need help, not punishment and the system destroying their life even more. Such a sad story.

    Hi Kendall.. my parents did the same thing.. I was 15, sitting at the dinner table waiting for my dad, who I loved more than anything, to come home from work; & noticing he was late, I asked my "mom" if he was working overtime. She responds with " Oh him? No, he's not ever coming home again.." and that was that. I can't tell you how absolutely damaging that is on so many levels & now with him gone, my mother who was not working started threatning me with pulling me out of school to work to support her & my 12 yo sister, the things she said just terrified me to the point where I had ptsd already as a kid. So there are people out there who do this shit to their kids.

    In 1989 in the border town where I live (Matamoros, Mexico) an American spring breaker named Mark Kilroy was abducted and used for a sacrificial ritual. It would be a pretty cool case to make a video about, even though it has a tragic ending. There's a movie called Borderland (2007) that is based on this case. The satanic group that did it had pretty much an entire ranch filled with bodies, but it was only after an American was involved, that the FBI was called. Once again, I think it'd be a good video.
