I work as a waiter part time. The best feeling I have in that job is when the managers stand up for me when dealing with annoying customers. Fortunately it does not happen often, but when it does, it feels so rewarding. I love the job and give them my all, because they really care.
So I’m a pro musician and was on the road. This restaurant was in walking distance to my hotel in Scottsdale, so I went with our tour manager Geno. We both got pizzas. There were frozen provolone cheese clumps all over it. I politely asked our server if we could get them reheated. The dude came over from out of nowhere and grabbed the pizzas and dumped them in the trash next to the hostess stand and told us to get out. Geno is the sweetest dude in the world but he was seething and would have snapped that dude’s neck, so I got him out of there. And I am proud to say I was one of their very first Yelp reviews. I actually created that account just for Amy and her miserable cheap cologne smelling jerkoff husband. ( I used the same name as my UA-cam channel name. I believe it’s still up)
I think they are just narcissists, there's no external factors causing this behaviour, they are just at war with everyone else and paint themselves as victims.
I can’t imagine screaming and cussing someone out in Public - much less a Customer - in front of a restaurant Full of people - while TV cameras are recording.
if you walk into a restaurant and see Gordon Ramsay, you know it's either gonna be the best food you've ever had, or the worst experience of your life.
Look, I think Ramsey knows that there really isn't anything wrong with frozen pastas. Like Felix said, they can taste good, but if a paying customer in a restaurant wanted frozen ravioli, they would have stayed home. The fact that these restaurants cannot grasp this concept is astonishing.
It's more likely the way they were cooked. A lot of restaurants use frozen food, but they thaw the product overnight, then cook them with techniques, spices, and a dash of caring to it. In hindsight, what Gordon usually looks for is not professional handmade raviolis, rather restaurants with decent knowledge of basic cookings and how to treat everyone equally right.
@@peternguyen2647 If they prepared frozen ravioli with care at worst he'd likely recommend they take the extra time to handmake them if possible, but I think you're right that it's the attitude about the frozen ravioli (or whatever) that sets him off in KN episodes.
@@treyxntreyxn I used to work as a barista in a small Italian café. We used frozen pastries, baked straight from the freezers, still came out good enough and customers bought it without a single doubt (the best compliment was that a lady bought 20 top of the morning saying that it was for her daughter's family as well) And yes, in restaurants' environment, your customers are the ones who pay for service, so they always expected to be treated, at the very least, as human beings. This couple in the video here had their minds too far gone to realize that lol.
Could you imagine having dinner at some bakery in Arizona and Gordon Ramsey comes out of nowhere and tells you the head chef has been selling you microwave meals
Yup, a lot of times we end up staying at places like that because we have no choice. I really feel bad for her and hope she found a better job after that.
I actually ate here once when I was out in Arizona for college. The first pizza I got was severely undercooked and I sent it back. Sam was a bit pissed about it but the dough was severely raw still so they remade it. We got our second pizza severely undercooked again and we went to pay for the pizza before leaving they had the audacity to charge me for 2 pizzas. And boy when I tell you I refused to pay for two you'd of thought I kicked a puppy
Omg this is amazing! No restaurant could survive with that behavior. In the food service industry, the customer has to always be "right" (within reason) if you ever want guests to return.

She can't take criticism because she has placed her identity in her cooking. So instead of being able to accept criticism and improve, everything is an attack on who she is as a person.
It's common knowledge that most American reality shows are partially scripted and heavily edited out of context, including parts of the newer American kitchen nightmares. However when this episode aired it's scary how you could tell these two were authentic and actually behaved like this in real life. Producers probably knew they stumbled upon a goldmine and didn't have to lift a finger.
I agree with what you're saying here. I've seen quite a lot of American shows that try to push a lot of "drama" from something so small that barely makes any sense. But these two genuinely act like psychopaths. Samy is afraid to tell her wife what people think, and she thinks everyone are out there to get her. The fact Samy didn't give the tips to his waitress and told that one employee to watch his car truly disgusts me. I've met true people like this, and if people can't accept the help which sometimes seems wrong to them then they shouldn't ask it in the first place.
And if you find their online posts and comments you realize how insane they are without even having to visit Amy even went to UA-cam to comment against the episode it was hilarious
18:15 to answer your question: She likely grew up with people who refused to call her out. She became controlling and grew nasty with those who told her she was wrong. As a result, people stopped because they felt uncomfortable confronting her. I have a family member who is quickly turning into this type of person. I want to call her out to save her from becoming this but she is very sheltered
Mermaid Grove and reality tv rescues have vomprehensive videos on her life but to condense it she went through some very traumatic things including her mother dying of cancer when she was young and her first husband cheating on her and getting his mistress pregnant while amy was inferrile due to her own cancer scare. It doesnt excuse her behaviors ofc but like i do feel for her a lil
I still can't believe Sammy tried to threaten Gordon Ramsay not knowing Gordon's an actual black belt in like karate or jiujitsu, don't remember which one but damn. Imagine Sammy trying to swing at Gordon and in self-defense he just slams Sammy with a filet-mignon of a center punch to the solar plexus before telling Sammy "I'm suing you for trying to attack me also your food sucks and you suck. I own this place now"
I heard it's karate. Sammy would've received a hefty knuckle sandwich that's for sure. But I think the threat was not of a physical confrontation, if you get what I mean, remember: "I'm the gangster".
Reportedly, Sammy was convicted of drug-dealing and extortion and deported. Amy was convicted of fraud. I think Gordon legit might have been threatened and that's why he stopped the yelling and walked away.
Ironically Gordon Ramsey not even putting the effort in to yell at you is even more frightening than him shouting at the top of his lungs. The amount of disappointment he must be feeling would make me quit immediately.
The part where Samy was threatening Gordon was wild af. Samy apparently had criminal charges (drugs & extortion) and was banned from two countries. Dude was later deported from the US cause of it.
I think they legit called Ramsay so that he could see how "good" they were, giving the restaurant his approval and help dissuade all the "haters" and "bloggers"
as someone whose majority of their income comes from tips, the fact that they're stealing this poor girl's earnings is both diabolical and illegal and these people need to be held accountable.
Technically they can pay her minimum wage hourly and it's not theft the way they didn't say it all went to owner might've been illegal but even waiters that don't get enough tips can actually make the owner pay up to minimum wage
@@CYWNightmare According to Katy Cipriano's AMA back in 2013, the staff were paid $8/hr, which for the time, was higher than Arizona's $7.80 minimum wage. That being said, an extra 20c is absolutely not worth having to put up with any of Amy and Samy's bullshit.
I always appreciate how kind Gordon is to severs. I was a sever for many years and tbh I never expected a tip because I work in Canada so I make minimum wage, but that being said when a table would leave me a generous tip (or they all just said thank you and smiled at me) it made me feel like I was doing my job right. I remember a particularly busy night it was me and 1 other girl manning the whole front had 8 tables each mostly 4 tops. I was running around like a crazy person and I couldn’t really give full attention to any table i basically just tried to get the food out asap, but this one table left me a 25% and on the way out they just thanked me and said I was doing a great job even tho it was so busy. Its moments like those that keep me going when another table complained that I wasn’t attentive enough.
From a stranger I just want to say that, whether you are a server still, thank you for your hard work ^~^ I bet some days were very hard for you regarding customers. I honestly look up to people who can handle that amount of pressure because I certainly wouldn’t be able to. You are an amazing human being and I hope you have a great day/night ❤️
omg same happened to me as a busser. i was working brunch on a sunday in the summer and clearing the patio tables like my life depended on it and a table saw me and personally gave me $10 in cash and said i’m doing a great job 😭 i just wish all service industry experiences were like that
The US has a tipping culture for servers and delivery drivers. The fact that most customers are willing and ready to give tips in a restaurant like this in the states and would fully expect those tips to go to the servers that took care of them, the owner just taking them is a big no no here. People would be irate to find that out. Not to mention the oweners excuse was that she wasn't doing a good enough job to deserve her tips but .... thats who the customers are leaving it for, he doesn't get to make a judgement call on that.... if her tables thought she should get a tip thats the customers choice not his to make after the fact. Drives me nuts lol
My favorite trivia from Amy’s baking Company, is that the pastries she had wasn’t even stuff that she made. She literally just went to a pastry restaurant bought a shit ton of their stuff and then just put in her restaurant.
For anyone that didn't already know. Amy's Baking Company didn't close for some time, they tried to make the bad episodes their strong suit by making their restaurant a tourist attraction. Sammy got deported I think, and arrested for something illegal. Amy is crazy This is one of the best episode of Kitchen Nightmares, because of so much drama
My sister is exactly the same as Amy. Their inability to experience self-reflection at any level coupled with their parasitic/enabler lifestyles keeps them safe.
@@bzzz179 well it's an issue with many UA-camrs, they have to provide quantity over quality a lot of the time and sometimes fans also just push them into doing stuff they don't really want to. PewDiePie has even talked about this multiple times. He's in a good headspace now and doesn't need to overwork himself so he just uploads what he wants now. You can see it in his older videos too if you know to look for it. Kinda rude calling someone delusional over this especially since they're right lmao
Her not baking those cakes is made even more obvious by the fact that bakeries start production around 3-5 am, dinner restaurants begin prep at around 10am, service starts at around 4pm and staff leaves for around 11pm. She'd literally have to never sleep lol
12:03 Samy’s face in the back is so funny for no reason! I busted out laughing when Gordon said the meal was bad and his face instantly turned sour. 😂 Another thing that really pissed me off is when Amy decided to send the food runner home because she asked a simple question, does she not understand that table orders are hard to memorize during busy hours? Honestly I would’ve screamed at her if I was Gordon and maybe offered the food runner a recommendation for a different job or something if the sort because as a food runner myself, I know that both her and I don’t deserve to be mistreated like that without probable cause, and even then it usually very unprofessional.
They also made all their new hires sign contracts that said if they didn't work on holidays, that they would be forced to pay the owners a $250 dollar fine. The contract also stated that if they quit or got fired, that they couldn't work at another restaurant within a fifty mile radius for over a year. As if they weren't already delusional, what authority do they have to extort their employees, or have any control over them even after they've left? It's not so much the authority, but why would they even bother to care where the person worked next? It's not like they're gonna monitor the person, or demand that they hand over their tax returns just to be sure that they're not violating their agreement.
@@Legendaryium Yep, it is like you read the contract and saw how it was bananas, Why on earth would you sign it and not expect being up for a bad time afterwards.
@@Legendaryium I'm pretty sure that any decent lawyer could get that thrown out of court. They apparently believed that the training provided by them was so amazing that they didn't want them utilizing those skills at any competing restaurants. That's ridiculous. Those are the same skills that you could learn at any dining establishment, whether it'd be IHOP or a five star Michelin restaurant.
She used to respond to the Kitchen Nightmares video for YEARS. I commented just to see if she was still doing it. And yes, within like a day she had responded to my comment. Absolutely insane woman.
This woman is terrifying. Her outbursts and self-victimization literally brings back trauma from my mother, who I try to have as little contact with as possible.
16:49 The owner Samy is a legitimate gangster with a string of international crime behind him. The theory was that the business was mainly a front for money laundering.
Dear lord, I remember that episode with Amy's Baking Company. You could just SEE how delusional Amy and her husband was, and it's honestly kind of disturbing. @PewDiePiegift.....Touch grass Plants from the grass family can grow in many places and make grasslands, even if they are very cold or very dry. Several other plants that look similar but are not members of the grass family are also sometimes called grass; these include rushes, reeds, papyrus, and water chestnut. Seagrass is a monocot in the order Alismatales. Grasses are an important food for many animals, like deer, buffalo, cattle, mice, grasshoppers, caterpillars, and many other grazers. Unlike other plants, grasses grow from the bottom, so when animals eat grass they usually do not destroy the part that grows.[2] This is a part of why they are successful. Without grass, earth may wash away into rivers (erosion). Evolution of grass[change | change source] Graminoids include some of the most versatile plant life-forms. They became widespread toward the end of the Cretaceous. Fossilized dinosaur dung (coprolites) have been found containing grass phytoliths (silica stones inside grass leaves).[3] Grasses have adapted to conditions in lush rain forests, dry deserts, cold mountains and even intertidal habitats, and are now the most widespread plant type. Grass is a valuable source of food and energy for many animals.[4] Grass and people[change | change source] Lawn grass is often planted on sports fields and in the area around a building. Sometimes chemicals and water is used to help lawns to grow. People have used grasses for a long time. People eat parts of grasses. Corn, wheat, barley, oats, rice and millet are cereals, common grains whose seeds are used for food and to make alcohol such as beer. Sugar comes from sugar cane, which is also a plant in the grass family. People have grown grasses as food for farm animals for about 4,000 years. People use bamboo to build houses, fences, furniture and other things. Grass plants can also be used as fuel, to cover roofs, and to weave baskets. Language[change | change source] In English, the word "grass" appears in several phrases. For example: "The grass is always greener on the other side" means "people are never happy with what they have and want something else." "Don't let the grass grow under your feet" means "Do something". "A snake in the grass" is about a person that will not be honest and will trick others. if you walk into a restaurant and see Gordon Ramsay, you know it's either gonna be the best food you've ever had, or the worst experience of your life.
I'm sure it's also got to do with then selling it as homemade as well.

And if you find their online posts and comments you realize how insane they are without even having to visit
Amy even went to UA-cam to comment against the episode it was hilarious

As if they weren't already delusional, what authority do they have to extort their employees, or have any control over them even after they've left?

Several other plants that look similar but are not members of the grass family are also sometimes called grass; these include rushes, reeds, papyrus, and water chestnut. Seagrass is a monocot in the order Alismatales.
Grasses are an important food for many animals, like deer, buffalo, cattle, mice, grasshoppers, caterpillars, and many other grazers. Unlike other plants, grasses grow from the bottom, so when animals eat grass they usually do not destroy the part that grows.[2] This is a part of why they are successful. Without grass, earth may wash away into rivers (erosion).
Evolution of grass[change | change source]
Graminoids include some of the most versatile plant life-forms. Grass is a valuable source of food and energy for many animals.[4]
Grass and people[change | change source]
Lawn grass is often planted on sports fields and in the area around a building.
Language[change | change source]
In English, the word "grass" appears in several phrases. For example:
"The grass is always greener on the other side" means "people are never happy with what they have and want something else."
"Don't let the grass grow under your feet" means "Do something".
"A snake in the grass" is about a person that will not be honest and will trick others.
All flesh is grass: Old Testament book of Isaiah, chapter 40, verses 6-8.
Grass is a slang term for cannabis (pot, weed, or marijuana).
