🚨 What are you guys making of 'Quest For Fire' overall so far? Which track of the 15 is your favourite?
Drop your thoughts in the comments! 🔥🔥
My favourite one is Hydrate
The album is 50/50 for me but the ones i like are soooo good especially Tears, Hydrate as mentioned, Inhale Exhale and A Street I Know
Personally, it is not the Skrillex I like. His shows and music isn't what it used to be, not just in sound but in quality. I used to be a super fan of him and this just didn't impress me much
*Timestamps*
1:20 Leave me like this
4:25 Ratata
6:58 Tears
9:48 Rumble
11:15 Butterflies
12:40 Inhale exhale
15:55 A street I know
18:12 Xena
21:01 Too bizarre
23:27 Hydrate
25:39 Warped tour 05
25:54 Good space
27:49 Supersonic
29:25 Hazel theme
29:52 Still here
Thanks!
Thanks!
Tears is absolutely insane. Drill mixed with the sleepy/dreamy vocal processing does something to you.
Hi I always see you in the comments of disciple, idk if remember me but I always like your reviews.
@@alemdevp2048 thanks :))
i missed joker and sleepnet. sleepnet new album when?
@@jn1346 its drill beat pattern on the intro my guy
@@jn1346 after that bitch.
It still feels unreal hearing a new Skrillex album. He's still bringing the heat and paving new crossroads in EDM!! 🔥🔥🔥
Not just EDM but underground too
For me. Xena is the best.Unique atmosphere, and just how the track advances.
Second is leave me like this. That second drop is so good that bass is so nasty and textured
It's insane Recess dropped 9 years ago. I was 14 or 15 when Recess dropped and I've been through college and started a career since. I love how his sound has changed and matured. Absolute banger album 🔥
I truly wish I could hear all these tunes for the first time again. Absolutely mind blowing.
I hear all these all the time now
Fr man, the first time I heard Ratata I was going ham. Every time I hear it I have to move
How baffled you were in the first few tunes is my exact reaction as well. Although Hydrate is probably my favorite on the LP as a whole, with Inhale 2nd. In the time it's taken him to make a new album, I've gone on a classic dubstep journey, collecting dubplates, going to Coki and Rusko throwback shows, and enjoying the 2000-2006 sound. My girlfriend said I must have manifested this album with sheer will because who would have thought skrillex laying down some of that deep dark and dangerous
I love how the last tune somewhat sampled Porter’s song language, it really helped distinct both Skrillex and Porter Robinson’s styles in that song.
it’s actually not a language sample, it’s just the same synth patch
@@kabarxd8164 emphazis on "somewhat"
such a bangin' album. It does frustrate me how people are quick to call it mid just because its not full of dubstep/brostep
Yea
I mean, to be fair, I wish we got more of dubstep/brostep from Skrillex, but I like the current stuff as well.
People are just refusing that he's changing as an artist
I mean it’s not bad and I understand that he’s experimenting in his music but that doesn’t mean he should nerf his drops
I never understood why people would ever assume that there’s be brostep in 2023….
Nawty going over Skrillex; the time is now :)
¡Hola BVSSIC! :)
Hydrate, Ratata, Tears, Inhale Exhale, Good Space and Supersonic are my top ones
RATATA is my absolute favorite from the album. Nice to see you enjoying it as well
Supersonic is just perfect. Anything that Noisia touches is gold.
Fact is it is time for a new generation of EDM. And Skrillex is kicking it off, just like he did with dubstep a decade ago. That's my guess!
Either way, so unique and inspiring.
Is it just me or does Leave Me Like This sound better mixed than when it was released in January
YES i noticed the mix was different too
I thought this too! Thought I must have been trippin
Yeah, he changed the mixing. It's a lot cleaner and nicer now.
Shocked by the Supersonic take, imo Supersonic is leagues above the rest of the tracks on the album. I honestly hope he wins a grammy for it. Havent felt that moved by a track since SMANS days.
Explain what's so good about it then, I believe it's overrated, sure it's clean but the idea behind the song seems too boring.
@@RadzHexz As someone who really enjoys Skrillex's heavy/darker styled tracks, Supersonic feels the heaviest and also lends itself to the darker/mysterious vibes of Skrillex's older style. Especially with the lyrics and the tone of the vocals and their processing, almost sounds like a dream like state. The first drop is simple but with that simple structure we get a constantly evolving lead bass that has a phaser like quality to it that for me sounds incredible, almost euphoric and instantly gives me goosebumps. (That same sort of feeling you get when you listen to something like Eruption by Van Halen at the main tapping solo section). The second drop takes everything I liked about the first drop, and makes it faster/more aggressive and instantly gets me feeling hype and doing hand motions to the pattern. None of the other tracks on the album evoke anything close to that for me. This track is the one that feels closest to the Skrillex sound that I have grown to know and love over time compared to the others. You dont always need to be making something new and boundary pushing, sometimes its nice to have some familiarity, and this one (to me) feels like Skrillex's old style, but maxxed out to its full potential with how much cleaner his production quality has become over the years.
You shouldn't judge Too Bizarre with the original, but as its own song. I love both of them for different reasons. Awesome album overall!
I honestly don't know any peekaboo but that hydrate song teleported me back to fabric in 2010 when everyone was snorting plant food and boomers had finally got a taste of losing financial power.
Simpler times.
inhale / exhale is my favorite. Straight fire right there
Same for me🔥
skrillex came back after 10 years dropping an album that is absolutely mental!
i love it, i missed it so much
Yea
Good Space actually has ISOxo in its writing credits! It’s not a collab but he helped with some of the mixing apparently
He was the mastering engineer
I just know this Thank you for commenting
Still Here samples Leave Me Like This, and Hydrate samples Tears. It reminds how Skrillex would sample his own songs like on My Name Is Skrillex EP and other songs he made before that.
what does hydrate have from tears?
and alot of songs from here sample other songs from Dont Get Too Close too!
@@wordierword6 its more of tears sampling hydrate. that intro vocal is also in Hydrate but its a lot less processed in Hydrate
i really like the direction he's heading with his sound! this album is straight killer 10/10
LOL, you reacting to Ratata gave me goosebumps like it did the first time..... Nasty Beat Clapsssssss!!!!!!!!!!!
Being at the MSG show last night, I got goosebumps from hearing Tears live. I knew what was coming but it still slapped so hard. Such a great night. Loved it 🖤 loved the album and always loved your reaction/reviews.
Tears is the best song on the album
If Skrillex didn't have released Supersonic, Butterflies, Too Bizarre then the Album would've been very Hyped to listen
My top five from the album:
5: RATATA
4: Inhale Exhale
3 and 2 (tied): Rumble, Good Space
1: XENA
Supersonic has a VIP version, maybe you'll enjoy it better.
30:56 thats sample is from Drake's Do not Disturb
I needed a channel like this! WHY DID I NOT FIND U SOONER???!??!
a lot of the tracks were references to older styles. the too bizzare track is (juked) and the vocal chopping and samples used are just a part of that genre. great rave tune
surprised at 1:18 in Street I Know, the sample "SMOKE EM!" then the hardest beat low key
Still Here has the same snare roll sample from Breathe by the Prodigy, and the same drum beat. Love it.
Love the new version of "Too Bizarre". A good one to drive to, but I end up going over the speed limit.
HE JUST DROPPED DONT GET TOO CLOSE FULL ALBUM AS WELL OUT OF THE BLUE
Your reaction couldn’t have been more perfect if your a fan everyone that’s a dubstep skrillex fan just understands the admiration of the production
True
I NEED a follow up from Timber now
"Hazel theme" feels like a direct sequel to "WITH YOU, FRIENDS (LONG DRIVE)" from Scary Monsters. ua-cam.com/video/fq-geJ9UwG4/v-deo.html
Still funny that connor never realized that Too Bizarre was already released as a single lol
Not this version, very superior imo
What's even funnier is that I have come across SEVERAL people who think the original Too Bizarre is the one on the album.
Did you ever watch Matt Mcguire doing drums for some of Skrillex's tunes? He just did one on Rumble. We would like seeing what you think of some of his covers of Skrillex!!
Keep up the awesome videos, man. Every time you come out is a good day,
my exact reaction to tears 7:02
I love how at RATATA u just pause it near the beat drop like c’mon man this is too good. And then start laughing as it gets even better. So good. Skrillex is a legend now
just gotta love the way Connor vibes with ratata 🤣
This album is so good. Even tho Skrillex spent nine years making them, both albums still overshot the quality expectations by a mile.
Also, something i think a lot of people have missed is Ratata containing a sample of Oizo's Positif. Check out that track btw it's really good.
9 years? Dude, that's a lot of time spent making those tracks.
@@SunIsLost I mean i honestly don't know how long he spent makin em but his last album was 9 years ago.
When your gf breaks up with you but a new skrillex album drops the same day. *raves in tears*
31:00 I believe that sample is from klyptown emperean by skrillex
I love how our reactions to Hazel Theme were damn near identical 😭
All the deep dubs makes me think Skrillex is kinda paying homage to the legend Burial for being a huge inspiration on the EDM scene.
I had the EXACT same reaction to Inhale Exhale lmao
Having so few likes on the main reviewer of the EDM and heavy bass music is a CRIME!
I had the same reaction to “inhale exhale” 😂
I hear a Prodigy sample in "Still Here"
Still here, leave me like this and hydrate are 🔥
Hear for tears!
I really love how you analyze music from a non-producer and more as a listener, are you still doing the "reacting to my viewers music" type videos?
If so where can i send my submissions to?
Butterflies reminds me of a tekken tag song
The best way to experience this album is the Basement set.
Still here did have a Leave me like this sample... Maybe some others... IDK
This man wheeled like half the album and I can’t blame him
QFF absolutely shreds
i took a second listen for me to like it but it really grew on me
I think this is the best work hes ever done and people who don't like it and expect him to return to brostep have an opinion to the extent of 'loud == good". I think it's far beyond time for dubstep and bass music to move past that shit and onto something new and fresh.
FACTS
Tears❤
Hydrate is fucking amazing
What emotion!
This isn’t the skrillex we grew up with
It’s a better version of him
It’s great to see him grow and get a new sound :’)
Yes!
Been waiting for this one 😊
Timestamp please
Still Here is 🔥🔥🔥
A Street I Know too slept on
LETS GOOOO
i like your lil dances
i jus gave you first view 🔥
hydrate is the best
bro i didnt understand reaction videos until this
Are you going to check out knock2 new album??
I love the one thing that we can agree on to hate about the albums is that it’s not long enough
HEY GUESS WHAT? THERE'S ANOTHER!
❤️🔥
I think this album is the definition of "different", it has some highs and some lows but always with kind of a new style to it, it sometimes feels a bit like a whole new genre😄
You better get on dat 2nd album asap ;p
Nice!
too bizarre is probably my least favorite on the album. may just need to listen to it a few (hundred) more times but it definitely is the biggest weak point. rest of the album i just love tho. good space is SO GOOD gives me vibes of mumbai power and face my fears which i both love a lot. still here i originally wasnt too big on but its growing on me for sure
turn down ya voice or turn up the music more a bit but good vid!
Everyone out here underrating Too Bizarre. And I hated the original version
FIRST
Wazzzzzzuuuuuuupppp
Wazzzzzzzuuuuuuuupppppp😂😅
Que emoción por DIOS
Imagine if Skrillex gets to do Dubstep again with this quality… man 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩🫶🏻
There were 5 dubstep tracks on there. Not everything has to sound like excision
@@ronancasey7289 I’m not saying he has to sound like excision, im talking about his own sound design but more dubstep oriented
He is not a kid
This UK dubstep is way better, Americans ruined the dubstep scene, the only thing that would fit him is the color/future bass cuz he makes chill vibes
@@fiirasmusic5366 Ehhh I wouldn't go that far
firstt
Im sorry for say that, but i don't like the album, this album has incredible mix, ideas and expectancy, but this is not a something what i want to see from Skrillex after so many years, this album more like for a huge audience which enjoying stuff without any special thing inside. For example, when Show Tracks EP was released, i was really surprised for hear something fresh and don't dry
Ngl don't even bother with the other album
I'm sorry, but I don't understand the expectation. Skrillex will no longer be what he was. except for some songs like rumble, everything else sounds flat, and too chill. At this point he should change his name for people who enjoy this type of music, house, trap, rap. however, if his name were not there, almost no one would be interested in these songs. seeing the number of views one realizes.
why do english guys listen to American music?
“American music” lmao it’s music, anyone can listen to it
@@PsychedelicKitten ok thanks but UK dosent have shite, since they are all just minding their own business
@@roufee I live in the UK we listen to whatever we want, I don’t know what you’ve been told 😹 majority of DJs I listen to aren’t British either
@@PsychedelicKitten OK thanks for that and when you say whatever we want, is that mostly US?
@@roufee i dont see your point, do you think all US music is bad? uk artists are nice, but i like to listen from music from all over the world
Leave me like this and ratatata are just too weak of an opener man. The album is just filled with previously released singles like existence and butterflies and kliptown epyrean and too bizarre. He should have switched those tracks with some other ID'S. Kinda disappointment. Seems rushed imo.
Not really sure how it could be rushed. But I do understand the frustration with the previously released singles being a good 1/3rd of the album
Except for 2 or 3 tracks and supersonic the rest is just some random mainstream pop shit design the please the most of people, recess was his last real album
I am not satisfied this time
i miss old skrillex😢
Ur loss
This album and don’t get too close are 🤌🏼😘perfecto, I like his underground sound too
