Fantastic vlog! Prague indeed looks incredibly beautiful no matter the grey weather.

The first synagogue (the Old New Synagogue), on the other hand, is more interesting than the second (the Spanish Synagogue).
The Old New Synagogue, also called the Altneuschul, situated in Josefov, Prague, is Europe's oldest active synagogue. It is also the oldest surviving medieval synagogue of twin-nave design.
Completed in 1270, it was one of Prague's first Gothic buildings. A still older Prague synagogue, known as the Old Synagogue, was demolished in 1867 and replaced by the Spanish Synagogue.

Prague look great in every weather but visit in May (spring bloom) or October (foliage) are simply breathtaking. And in the summer taking a pedal boat with drink is a must! :-)

This video made me very excited for our visit to CR in 2 weeks. We will sadly only have 1 evening in Prague, because we are heading to Krkonose, but still looking forward to it very much.

Great video! I had no idea that Kafka was from Prague. You learn something new in every Jack Roaming video, thanks for that 😁

Thanks! Yes, a lot of people don't know that because he wrote in German.

@@JackRoaming Yes, of course, most of Jews in prague were speaking german. Actualy on begining of 19th century even most of Czechs in Prague were speaking german, because of the Austrian influence, but because of all the nationalistics movements in 19th century Czechs started speak and write more czech like it was in medieval time. 🙂

Thank you for the accurate history information. BTW chimney cakes are originally from Romania and made their way to Hungary. There is also a city in Slovakia that claims they are the origin of chimney cakes. You can probably find chimney cakes in Dusseldorf. If you visit Prague, try and take a day trip out to Terezin concentration camp. Prague castle is the largest castle complex in the world.

The Chimney caces are originaly from Transilvania, that is today part of Romania - BUT THE WAY HOW THEY ARE SERVED - ITS ORIGINALLY PRAGUE STYLE -- IN PRAGUE IT IS NOT COVERED ONLY WITH SUGAR AND CINAMON - BUT STUFFED WITH ICE CREAM AND FRUITS/NUTS AND V%ARIOUS TOPPINGS AND WHIPPED CREAM OR SIMPLIER VERSION WITH CHOCOLATE "NUTELLA" - THIS WAS INVENTED HERE IN PRAGUE!!! YOU CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD DONE LIK ETHIS - THE UPGRADE IS SIGNIFICANT AND THATS THE REASON TPOURIST WAIT IN LINES TO GET IT. But this is very typical for Czech food in General - today Czech republic and mainly Prague has been melting pot for influences from all directions west, east, north, south - we take it over and make changes to be delicious!!!!! Because we like to eat 3an3d we know how to cook!!!!

If I wasn't gluten-free, I'd have a Staropramen or Zlaty Bazant beer or five with you with at the Christmas market.
