At 16:19 or thereabouts, the 2 officers walking in front of a movie theater. Check out the movie playing....Bela Legosi in The Corpse Vanishes. Nice touch!
That is from Lesson Number One in 'Product Placement.' Also a sub-section of 'Self Promotion.' For a film that riffs on Jekyll and Hyde and a few other classics, this is a unique blend of old school criminal insanity. Belo Lugosi somehow brings it off so easily. Thank you for posting this film!
These are better than a lot of the new movies. Thanks for showing them.
One of the top movies of its genre. Thanks for keeping it on for so long.
Love Bela!!
CATS PAW - WON'T SLIP! The poster advertising the mousetrap was a nice bit of foreshadowing. It meant the Friendly Mission Fingers heard the two guys talking about was a trap. The poster was right over his left shoulder. Later, in the secret office, a skull on a shelf was behind him also visible over his left shoulder foreshadowing his murder.
With all respect to the great Bela this would be an amazingly funny rifftrax
I enjoyed this video a lot.
Good cast. John Archer, Dave O’Brien and many other familiar faces.
A very young John Archer. His crisp acting style sure stands out in the midst of all this silliness.
When the guy gets his soup he reaches for a slice of bread. It looks like Wonder Bread. Polka dots on the package.
@36:46, poor Vince does a brodie. He's one of those character actors you always see & like, but never know his name.
THANK YOU I ENJOYED WATCHING THIS MOVIE APRIL 14 2019
My favorite of The Monogram Nine, with Bela Lugosi.
Poor Bela, famed in his native Hungary as a romantic leading man, then typecast as a villain in Hollywood.
Fortunately for him his very thick accent and his ability to appear as an evil person kept him well fed and well stocked with morphine.
Prevost Not a nice thing to say regarding morphine.Mr.Lugosi,had a back injury, and became addicted to the potent numbing effect of the drug. This " type of behavioral response," could happen to and with anyone, sir.
Thank you Nancy, Bela did seek help an enter rehab. I wish he was still with us. ❤
@@spawnlordgaming7826Thank you, spawnlordgaming for your kind reply.
May be so about his native country but ahhh don't see it myself
The little guy in the Tailor shop 38::45 is the father of Leo Gorcey's ,The bowery boys
I actually thought the actor who played ‘Fingers Dolan’ strongly resembled Huntz Hall. Sam Katzman (the producer) produced many East Side Comedies and Bowery Boys films.
The "tailor" looks like the old man who used to play in the Bowery Boys movies.
15:27. BRILLIANT!
What's the name of the music that play's on this part?
Isn't that Lou Costello? 38:10. I love these old movies because they have hidden gems.
Close, it's Pat Costello, Lou's brother. Lou referred to him from time to time and I think he worked on the TV show.
Yes, he was the producer of the Abbott and Costello Show.
Thank you
Bela lugosi! ❤
Richard apparently recovers from his living dead state with rest and TLC.

Originally released by Monogram Pictures in October 1942.
This is the May 1949 Astor Pictures reissue print.
Barry, glad to SEE you back. May the Sauce be with you.
Thanks! :)
Great info. Thanks.
@@buffalopatriot You're VERY welcome!
I don't get it: the young lover wasn't killed when he got shot? The mad doctor saved him and hid him? And what about the young detective who looks like he's the same person, is it an effect of being a wino on the Bowery and seeng double?
Great movie anyway, has a style similat to German expressionist movies of the Thirties. Black and white has a lot of visual qualities.
Yeah, that's when the logic got weird.
These is a diamond 💎 Appreciate the movie 🍿 have a grand night
The Roman numerals in the beginning credits say 1932, not 1942. What's more, the soundtrack definitely sounds 30s.
Souply a good movie!
Thanks, PizzaFlix, for another Lugosi...secret doors that are not all that secret. LOL
So she has a zombie husband now? Lol
An interesting mix of actors. Lugosi was on his way down and a quartet of aspiring young actors trying to establish themselves. There's a bunch of competent character actors and old vaudevillians. Almost all are good to excellent. Then there's the police captain who must have had incriminating photos of the producer or been his brother-in-law. How else did he get the role?
He got the role because he's the "go-to" policeman in these old flicks.
David Rice Yes,he was a good character actor, from what I gathered.

If someone is searching the MF Doom sample of this movie

Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX. May the Sauce be with you.

Map of Australia is interesting
1:01:12 The good ole days
Why does there have to be that rotten music on the soundtrack?
Bela- a true ROMANIAN😂
Bela (or shall I say Professor) you make the perfect narcissist!
I don't appreciate the comment " you and your social work," as I am a professional social worker! There Are Social Workers, and then there ARE Social Workers!
It's a great ole movie, times were different then, stop comparing it to today and being a pansy, if you're good at your job it will shine through and so will the bad ones, just saying is all just enjoy the movie for what it is and don't over analyze it 😊
I think the guy with the bad hand was in SCARFACE 1932 With THE MAGNIFICENT PAUL MUNI!!!
