No credit for Hattie McDaniel, 3 years later she won an Academy Award for her role in Gone With the Wind. She appeared in 300 films, only getting credit in 83. She stuck it out, a real trooper!

Very fun movie with a very good cast. Hard facts for some people to face is that the studio interest in the black character actors was about commensurate with audience interest in them other than comic relief or passing time. In other words, not much other than what I just described. But don't despair; face facts, how many black people go to a Spike Jones ? Spike Lee ? movie for the bit part White actors ??!! Think about it, those who are grownups.

A little too "musical" for my usual taste, but a fun enough story to keep my interest. Interesting to see how much the post office actually cared way back when-lol. Besides, it has Bela Lugosi.

This thing is periodically so bizarre it approaches something surreal: Bela Lugosi saved from drowning by a postal inspector; Patricia Ellis unexpectedly bursting into song with her maid; idiotic contrivances sold through the mail; a little boy playing his harmonica in a nightclub; a giant flood advancing city by city, with cops chasing the bad guys down over submerged streets in speedboats. Godzilla should have shown up at the end as a topper.
