Synopsis :- Charlie and Jimmy Chan are traveling by plane to San Francisco. Jimmy befriends insurance executive Thomas Gregory. Charlie's friend, novelist Paul Essex, dies aboard the aircraft after receiving a radiogram warning him not to ignore "Zodiac". His briefcase mysteriously disappears. Charlie meets with Deputy Police Chief J.J. Kilvaine, and runs into reporter and old friend Peter Lewis. Charlie also meets noted local magician Fred Rhadini, and discusses Essex's death with the three men. Rhadini tells Charlie about Dr. Zodiac, a psychic preying on the rich in San Francisco. Charlie, Rhadini, and Lewis go to Dr. Zodiac's home, where Dr. Zodiac conducts an eerie séance. Lewis' fiancée, Eve Cairo, has been meeting with Dr. Zodiac, angering Lewis. Later, Kilvaine reveals that Essex was poisoned, but can't rule out suicide. Jimmy spends the afternoon following Thomas Gregory, whom he believes stole Essex's briefcase when leaving the plane. He discovers Essex's manuscript in Gregory's hotel room.
That night, Charlie attends Rhadini's magic show at the Golden Gate International Exposition on Treasure Island. Rhadini's clumsy, comic acquaintance, Elmer Kelner, is helping to serve food and drink at the club. Charlie meets Eve Cairo and socialite Bessie Sibley, as well as Rhadini's jealous wife, Myra. During her telepathy act with Fred Rhadini, Eve comes into contact with someone thinking about murder and Charlie is almost killed when a knife is thrown at him.
After the show, Charlie, followed by Rhadini and Lewis, break into Dr. Zodiac's home. They find Jimmy already there. Charlie discovers evidence that Zodiac is a fraud. When Zodiac's Turkish houseman, Abdul, arrives, Charlie searches him and finds the holster that fits the knife. Abdul escapes, and the burglars discover Zodiac's vast files which he uses to frighten and blackmail others. Charlie realizes Bessie Sibley is providing information on others to protect herself, and that Zodiac was blackmailing Essex. Charlie burns Zodiac's office to protect the innocent.

I remember watching a bunch of old movies like this at a nextdoor neighbor's house in the 70s with my dad and the neighbor. A happy memory. My father will be 84 in July. I used to watch old movies like this with my maternal grandparents, another happy memory.
Times were great back then, really miss family times' and going to neighbor's house and Grandmas house, to visit,
So glad to hear someone had a great childhood.
Classic Films!
@@garrywilliams4449Yea, me, too. Mine sure wasn't.
I loved the simplicity of the script and cleverness of writing. The acting by Toller and Sen draw you in with convincing spontaneity, and the lighting and photography of these old B&W films are stunning. Classic entertainment without a lot of violence or special effects. Thanks for posting.
I also loved Charlie Chan growing up. This was in the 1970s...and I think even up to the 1980s my local TV station would show a couple of Charlie Chan movies every Saturday - as well as Mr. Moto which I also loved. Sadly kids these days will probably never be introduced to these excellent role models because of today's sensibilities. When I was a kid I had no idea Warner Oland (my favorite Chan) or Toler weren't Chinese, or that Peter Lorre wasn't Japanese. And I also knew that the movies were really old. So when a white cop or suspect dissed Charlie or Mr. Moto, they were ALWAYS shown up as fools, because Charlie/Mr. Moto was always the smartest guy in the room. A good lesson learned.
Yup, I'm 65 and growing up my brother and I would watch them both!!! I was in the process of collecting their movies and lost everything due to eviction last year. With Charlie I loved #1 son too. I also had a collection of Topper (2 movies) and that detective (brain fart) with Myrna Loy. My husband and I watch TLC. When the kids were in their teens we couldn't get them to watch these old movies cause they were in black n white, not color. I also had the Maltese Falcon. I like those old detective movies. 🥰🥰🥰
@@lindaszatko8511 The Thin Man series with William Powell and Myrna Loy. ;)
@@barbarapeterson4000 Thank you! Had a brain fart!!!🥴🤣
@@lindaszatko8511 No problem. Happens to all of us! And the Thin Man series is one of my favorite mystery series. Powell and Loy were perfect together.
Sally b l a n e who is playing the part of Stella Essex was the sister of Loretta Young, Polly Ann Young and the half sister of Georgiana young who was married to Ricardo Montalban.
I used to watch Charlie Chan movies back in the '70's , the good 'ol days . Banana seats and butterfly handlebars .
Schwinn Bikes, loved them
I first saw Charlie Chan when I was in college in the 80s, and fell in love with these movies- pre internet, so I had to wait for them to come on as late night movies. So nice to be able to watch them when I want now! Thank you.
Thanks for sharing!
My whole family has watched these movies. Many blessings from USA..
In Detroit, on the weekend, we had Bill Kennedy host old movies like this. Kennedy was a historian about vintage Hollywood movies and had been an actor himself mainly in westerns. He knew so much about the actors and backgrounds about all the movies he hosted. It was most entertaining. My mom and I used to often watch these movies together before I left home and joined the Army. Good times that I remember. Long gone now.
Love Charlie Chan grew up watching him I still watch him till this day ❤️keep them coming 😊great classic you won’t ever see today thanks
Thank you! Will do!
❤❤❤❤❤❤enjoy
@@stephanierodriguez3828 thank you 💔
Great memory of Charlie Chan movies in the 60's as a kid watching with my dad. Thank you for movie.
All these shows were put on at 6pm on a Friday in the late 70s and early 80s. On the bb2 England I was about 9 to 13 years old love them ever since.
Great fun. Love Charlie Chan and sons
TY
great one! Love the PBY, love the reference to the Expo in SF !. Fun ALL around with the obvious reference to Houdini exposing fake mediums in the day.
One of the best
Boy was that a great movie!
Love Charlie Chan thank you 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩💖💖💖💖
If you’re looking to have a good evening at watching one movie that makes you happy and smile it’s Charlie Chan does it every time I certainly enjoyed it very much so then I’m gonna give it five stars💫💫💫💫💫 for SEP filmiDham. 👍🏼👍🏼 Two thumbs up for sharing thank you thank you🫶🇨🇦
In my country South Africa. We had movie's from the 1970s and 80s and maybe even older but we had nothing from the 1900s so for me to watch clip's of 1902 , 1910s when internet arrived was stunning stuff to watch. It's shocking to see how far we have come in the last 120 year's and before we reach to the end of the 20th century. Car's will be flying and the awful drones and robots will be all over the place . Sigh, give me the simple life anytime.
Love Charlie Chan ❤❤❤❤❤
Just give me a flight with those airplane seats!!🤣🤣🤣

Good movie 😊
thank you for posting. would prefer to warch in original 1.37:1 aspect ratio.
Holy smokes, the size of those airplane seats!
This was good one😂
Got a kick out of seeing how that table worked as far as the girl not flying on it. 👀
Does anybody remember The Family Film Festival with Tom Hatten? These old movies remind me of that show every Sunday after Popeye. If it was a movie I didn't like I would jump on my bike and ride to the park. The early to mid 80s was a great time to be a kid. Not a care in the world.
Almost every time I see Donald MacBride in a film, he plays a cop.
Love him. Best movies y made. Barbara Anne

All Chan flicks are great...only bad thing about this feature is making Cesar Romero the killer. He was played a very large and likable character in this. Makes no sense that hes the bad guy.
Geez..spoiler alert
Ah common man😞😞😞😞 couldn't you give a spoiler alert!!!
Fake widescreen
First
Corny movie made sillier by the vapid grin on the actors.
Corny? Nah.
Me and my Father watched all the Chan movies as well as Sherlock Holmes, Mr Motto,Thin Man any old time mystery movie that came on. It was our Father and Son time later in his life before Covid took his life. I now watch them over and over again before bed as it seems to feel like he's still with me. I know it sounds silly but comforts me. Murdock Mysteries and the Night Stalker series also on list, lol yeah truly enjoyable to this OG. Thanks for posting .
Love ALL those serial film series. 6 Thin Man films probably my FAV of all with Sherlock Holmes & Charlie Chan series not far behind.
Marcsmolen339
I watch those same movies plus I love thin man and Sherlock Holmes . I enjoy all the old black and white movies. Much more fun even if they are seen over and over again
Also Mr Wong. Love Boris Karloff.
Cesar Romero aka Dr. Zodiac, also played the Joker in the iconic 60's Batman series..
He probably was born with a mustache. Even playing the Joker he refused to shave it off.
Also, played Sophia's love interest on an episode of The Golden Girls in the late 1980's. Looked great, too!
All these comments make me feel not so bad. I thought I was the only one watching and searching for these movies. So glad I am not alone.
You are not alone. I binge-watch Charlie Chan.
That guy who meets Charlie with Paul's wife was the Bank Examiner in 'It's A Wonderful Life'
It's so great to find other players in these movies
And Paul's wife?
That was Sally Blane, the director's wife ... and Loretta Young's sister.
Lovely black and white pictures Cesar remero is soooo handsome!! Sidney has always been my favorite Chan🥰🍿🍿🎥
Love these old Chan movies .
Classic films.
Easily the best of the Chan movies. Made me become a professional stage magician.
This is my first time seeing these Charlie Chan movies. Keye Luke, also played one of the sons of Father Chan. Very, very thankful 😊 for the wonderful downloads. Or up loads.
WPIX Ch. 11 in NY played this on Saturday nights in the 70's at midnight, what a treat to watch them again.
Ok now I am blown away. I have just watched Chan in 1944 now there is one in 1939. WOW. Going to save this one and watch later.
I enjoy Sidney Toler/Charlie Chan Movies.
Really love these movies with off springs in them
Every bowtie tying I've seen in the movies edits out when wardrobe, it seems, comes in to do it right.
Another great story and acting!
Absolutely the greatest
When I watched this as a kid I was so disappointed that Cesar Romero was the bad guy, my hero the Cisco kid was evil?
No way!
A very young Cesar Romero. Good surprise ending although I guessed it might be him. Lots of suspense.
Wish U hadn't given away the ending.....oh, well, know it wasn't on purpose. I have seen this film but I'm sure so many others haven't.....or, if have, have forgotten the ending. Take care.
Charlie chan was based on a real life police detective from Honolulu Hawaii.
Chan calls the gun the Turk pulls on him a revolver, but it isn't--it's an automatic. Also, the files in that safe aren't going to do much burning once the fire uses up all the oxygen.
Nitpicking aside, this movie is actually really good! The story is fun and exciting and the print is absolutely beautiful. I've never seen Cesar Romero this young before, and I had no idea he ever did magic. That trick with the birdcage still baffles me!
Whatta good story. One of the best!
Jimmy chan played one of the old Masters in the Kung fu tv show
I love Charlie. CHAN MOVIES
Isn't the Zodiac based on like the gypsy travels, if one fails to be present to lead the traveler correctly, then use the next.
When several passing ancient travelers start looking the same to port, the prophecies develop, yes? Unknown to the other of the circumstances.
Or in ancient crime to obtain the traveler's vehicle, a lead to the bone yards based on drinks.
Prophecy equaling predictions, gives to the poison mind to news reporters upsets or the Zodiac Killer.
The accumulations of conversations for looking mind telepathy works!
Lets say that large liers are based on the 20s roar to start a test word and find the synonyms along the way.
Used to be broadcast on Sunday mornings back in the late 60s, but we never got to see the endings cause we were always hustled off to church. Grrr

This definitely gave the zodiac killer inspiration to commit his terrible deeds too bad he was never brought to justice
I doubt that very much. Zodiac wasn't a magician or a fake psychic. He was just a psychopath.

Why is this called Charlie Chan Treasure Island? I've watched this several times over a period of time bc I think I haven't seen it. I guess I have pirates and buried treasure on a secluded tropical island so imprinted on my mind that I can't grasp the title with the actual content into memory.
I still enjoy it ever time I watch all the way through. Lol! Thanks for sharing. I never regret watching any of the Chan movies.
Its the name of a island off San Francisco
Kk
Black and white hd movies are awesome 😊😊 love Sidney Toler as Chan my favorite defective 🥰🥰🍿🎥
I don't know how many times I watched this one before I found out Treasure Island was the site of a World's Fair in San Francisco. Where are the pirates?
Strange everyone mention 70's and 80's I remember watching them on Saturday in the 60's. Great movies.
My grandpa was a fan of Charlie Chan...and he watch these movies of Charlie Chan before in 1991.
Confucius say, "Man who stand on toilet is high all day..." Yes indeed...
48:00 I wonder if the Zodiac Killer watched this film
It's usually Douglas Dumbrille but...............won't spoil........
I really do not watch this movie that much.sept2022.
"I REALLY didn't also watch this movie"
Customs coming from Hawaii???
Hawaii wasn't a state until 1959
The same for Alaska. I remember going through customs when we traveled from Anchorage to Seattle in the mid 50’s.
@@nancyhackenmiller432 No, but it was a U.S. territory. I'm surprised you would have to go through customs when entering the U.S. from it.
Wasn't a US State at the time. Duh.
I can never tell the difference between Sydney and Warner.
Great

🧐....have always liked the way Charlie takes pains to 'oversee' and look-out for his Number 2 Son, whom from my Psych. Profs. in College as well as others in and out of print list him as a Prime example of an ADHD individual. No, not an example of 'klutziness' or being a 'Doofus' but apparently someone suffering from such, and while Hollywood just utilizes him as a 'clown--or Court Jester' to add comedic [poorly staged at best] relief into the films; they were just standard 'part-and-parcel' for Hollywood's Mental Process of the times. BUT a 'Damnable nuisance to nearly anyone in the audience.' Lord, though I love ALL the Charlie Chan flicks; cringe when Number 2 is on and ACTS like a 'number 2'. 😂
Sitting in armchairs on a place...whoa....
Charlie can solve mystery of Pelosi, Paul !
There is NO mystery. Paul Pelosi was violently attacked by an unwanted intruder. PERIOD. CASE CLOSED.
