Great review, I ordered a tactix half day with a waist belt. I’m excited to get it in. I looked at a 5.11 rush 24 and the first tactical specialist 1 day, but at the time they didn’t have the specialist 1 day in black, so I went with the tactix half, which looked bigger than the rush 12 and specialist 1/2 day. The other thing that sold me was the shoulder straps being adjustable at the top and the bottom- the 5.11 straps have fixed straps at the top. I got the waist belt because I plan on rucking a lot with this bag as well as running with it. It’s not so much to distribute the weight for me as much as keeping it secure to my body when I’m running and rucking. Can’t wait to get it!
Do you find it appropriate to take it to the office everyday? I'm concerned about the size. Sometimes I bring my gym clothes including a couple of shoes, food in a big Tupperware, and so on. But I'm some cases I only bring basic everyday stuff (phone, chargers, meds, wallet, jacket, water bottle...). I occasionally add a laptop. I'm looking for a backpack to take with me everywhere and like the design of this one but 40L sounds like a lot. I'd like to use it also when traveling for the typical things ( some food, guides, jacket, umbrella, camera, water bottle...). Would you recommend it as a "do it all" backpack or is it too big to bring everywhere? thanks!
I love it for work. I only carry a laptop, ipad, and folder. It can become very large pushing away from the body if you need to hold a lot of stuff. If you only have a few items like me, simply use the compression straps. I really like that the bag is not excessively long, so it can look like a normal size if you just have the straps buckled.
It is in between. Bigger than Rush 12 but smaller that rush 24. But to give some perspective, I went on a seven day trip with just this bag. 3 jeans, 2 shorts, 7 shirts, socks, underwear, toiletries, ipad pro 12.9", etc. It really holds a ton.
Are you sure is is smaller than the Rush 24? the Rush is listed as 37 liter total capacity and the first tactical tactix 40.5L. I bought the Rush 24 and returned it because It was too big for me and like this one but do not have the opportunity to see if physically before buying it online, so I have to be sure the tactix is not going to be too big again. According to the official size, the main compartment of the Rush is 20" H x 12.5" L x 8" D and the one of the tactix 12” L x 19” H x 8” D, so pretty similar.
So first tactical has 2 lines, the specialist line and the tactix line. The tactix ones are slightly bigger than the specialist ones. The half day specialist is slightly smaller than the tactix one. The 5.11 rush is more comparable to the specialist line. So as far as size goes I would say the tactix line is slightly bigger than the rush and the specialist lines. For me the 1 days were both too big too.

Did you ever get one? The 1 day is 40L, but the half day is 27L. I chose the half day for similar every day carry.

seems pretty small compared to rush 24. looks.comparable to rush 12
