Not true. I’m American and I’ve visited the Uk many times for work as an architect. You actually have the highest number of school builds in the world. 70% of your schools have been rebuilt. Maybe you’ve only got used on the state or area you live in. All of the ones I visited are definitely up to scratch But I also know Canada and the US because it’s the reason why I was in the UK our new builds are based upon the schools in the England
The Thomson TSC900 was an awesome ATS controller. Nice to see them here. It is such a shame they recently eliminated it and changed to a DSE controller similar to the old TSC80e. It's like going from 2020 back to 1990.

Yes there's lots of EST genesis especially lots of the LED versions now. Not a huge fan of the aesthetic design of these schools with some of the odd shapes and not squared off looks however functionally these buildings are amazing especially the HVAC is incredible
This building doesn't have tab style pull stations they are MPS T bars with just two tab stations in the gym as NBG 12 LX's are not suitable for gym locations
Yeah well you're supposed to have access stoppers don't stop you from having access they just make it indirect it's not that big of a deal these pull stations can't get activated by being hit with something in the gym it's been off for the last couple months with no problem but eventually it should be installed correctly
How new are the L Series notification appliances? My community college just added a new hallway late last year around the same time you say this school was built and they elected to go with those, which was the first time I'd ever seen them.
They did a pretty good job. But however, when you showed those magnets shown at 12:46, that is bullshit that they didn’t route the wire through the floor. And those stoppers I don’t think were necessary in the gym because those pull stations are made of metal and they have the exact same pulls in one of the gyms in your high school. So what the hell was that about in the gym in this school?
@@nics-systems-electric The way they are mounted, they need stoppers to protect kids from getting hurt when running into them. They should be mounted flush. But on the other hand, there are so many possible causes of injury from fast movement in that building that those probably won't matter. Whoever designed that didn't get the memo about it being a school and not an office building, it seems. A square concrete column in the middle of the way, those metal railings with sharp corners, the sitting steps with no anti-tumble-all-the-way protection (utterly illegal in soccer stadiums nowadays after there were too many deaths), ...
Just out of curiosity, with you saying that they might of used a 3030 to cover each floor per loop, why did they not use isolation modules to cover each floors instead?
You're asking the wrong guy I don't even know if that's what they did it's just a guess as there is no other reason for them to possibly use a 3030 sense a 640 with NCA could still be networked the same way it's the only possible explanation I've got
funny you go to access the pull box and the goal nets are blocking it mostly in my area you get fined and written up if anything in in front of or blocking in any way a pull box etc

my system it tells you what devices dont work we use a simplex 400 series system with the latest devices the master panel polls each device every 8 to 10 seconds and if one does not reply it comes up on the screen as to what does not work and were its located. we used to have to walk the property like you do but with the new system its a thing of the past:)

A Question, why don't you and your college carry two way radios like the Motorola TLKs so the 2 of you can communicate while doing fire alarm tests, fault finding and other jobs where the two of you are working in different locations on the same property?
This is just a fire drill we don't need communication usually but doing annual testing we do use radios my last video on a trouble call was a Saturday call out where we took our personal vehicles and did not have radios
I think they need to make a stopper cover with a camera in it as well as the siren. kid or teen pulls it and runs away and says "It wasn't me" Sorry buddy smile you're on stopper camera! 🤣
If you need to find out who a kid is who pulled the fire alarm, you can just look at the security camera footage, that is just one extra battery you have to change. Not too much point to it.

Yes the siren plays briefly for a couple seconds when the PA system is triggered to shut down

To ensure that Fire alarms are audible and are the only thing producing noise if music or messages were to be played on PA system

If I’m being honest Nic, I really don’t like those tab style pull stations, they seem like a real pain compared to the NBG-12LX’s.

In Australia we don't use dedicated sounders, instead the alarm just uses the PA system

Any addressable system will do that you still have to do a walk around the same way and verify

Very rarely do we even install stoppers for the purpose of malicious alarms if people want to pull alarms it's not gonna stop them just let it happen
