    I rate this railway ( for that is what it is, not a model railway layout) up with the Craig and Mertonford and the Buckingham branch
    Lovely video. Seasons greetings to you Ted

    Nineteen minutes of sunshine in a rainy, ugly afternoon here in Northwestern Italy!!! Thank you.

    Thanks, all, for your replies and good wishes. I am glad this video gave you some pleasure in this grim and dismal December of 2020, the worst in human recollection, with nothing but bad news in the media. Don't let yourself be worn down, and let us hope things will improve next year and the world will return to some sort of normalcy.
    The next CDR video will be published tonight, and I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Take care, stay safe and try to enjoy life!

    I remember seeing a similar George England loco in that yellow with a smoke unit, at one of the model shows in Wigan around 10 years ago or even longer? And I remember being allowed to operate the trains, I don't know if its you or not though?

    • @tedpolet5431
      @tedpolet5431  3 роки тому

      Yes, I was at the Wigan show in 2011. I remember there was a young chap named Ben who assisted me for quite a long time. Was that you?

    • @tedpolet5431
      @tedpolet5431  3 роки тому

      Or perhaps there were a few more people who handled the controls at the time. I forgot...

    Wonderful, did I spot a, beautifully, modified Playcraft HO Shunter working there?

    • @tedpolet5431
      @tedpolet5431  3 роки тому

      Yes, it is a Playcraft body shell on a Roco chassis. Well spotted!

    • @alangordon7508
      @alangordon7508 3 роки тому

      @@tedpolet5431 That is, by far, the best and most imaginative use of a Playcraft body I have ever seen. As well as that the whole model is absolutely brilliant!

    • @tedpolet5431
      @tedpolet5431  3 роки тому +2

      @@alangordon7508 thanks - the chassis is a little noisy, and the rigid wheelbase not the easiest to make it work, but it seems it does the job! The Roco chassis was fitted with dummy outside frames and cranks glued on to the wheel faces.

    What are the buttons for on some of the wagons please?

    • @tedpolet5431
      @tedpolet5431  3 роки тому +1

      The 'buttons' are painted washers with a destination code for each wagon. They determine the traffic flow on the layout. The idea was borrowed from John Allen's Gorre & Daphetid RR.

      @soedetonator 3 роки тому

      @@tedpolet5431 thanks, do you use automatic uncoupling with the n gauge couplings or by hand?

    • @tedpolet5431
      @tedpolet5431  3 роки тому

      @@soedetonator No - uncoupling is always by hand. I lift the wagon at one end, or in case of a bogie vehicle with the coupling attached to the bogie, I lift the coupling with a hook or a screwdriver.
