3 years since my last comment and I still love coming back to watch your videos again and again. Truly a masterpiece of model railway videography. Noel
Those houses at the bit , the train comes around the bend then goes back, those houses are so like some in Irvine Scotland, just great stuff, great skill keep it up, very enjoyable.
Ted, you're a master modeler and a film maker. Fantastic camera work on a superb layout with realistic sounds.... almost like it's a real life fairy tale!! Awesome :)
+Ritul Mehta Hello Ritul, good to hear from you again. And thanks for your kind reply. I hope all is well your side and you're still an active modeller. all the best Ted
I remember the Hancock.Mander layouts they inspired me to build a 009 layout in my loft. This layout brings back the memories of my one sadly now gone when I moved house ten years ago ....This though is superb.
That is such a beatiful layout, especially the main green station looks absolutly superb. Makes me very jealous you know haha. You truly have such an amazing eye for detail, and have inspired me to add a small narrow gauge subsection to my layout, where large express locomotive can transition at a station for narrow gauge locomotives to carry passengers to a small wharf/ beach. Thank you!
I must say this is one of the most realistic looking layouts I've ever seen. The sound you've added is the only added sound on youtube that I can't find any faults in. Great work, I look forward to more.
Thanks both - the sound editing is a hobby within a hobby. And there are faults in it, but I know where they are and you don't! If all goes well I will indeed be at Expong, as a visitor.
This is one of the best layouts I've ever seen! You Limeys don't screw around, do you? I've been to the show at Ally Pally and this one beats them all! Best from Canada!
Excellent layout set.... It seems that one doesn't need 45 cars behind a loco to give realism... although 45 cars is a nice deal... no doubt. - The only question I have is this: Is it true that locomotives... especially older ones... can only go forwards?
Brilliant, the attention to detail is just astounding. Have always wanted to try narrow gauge and this really encourages me How you get the sounds in so well?
I make up a sound track using Audacity to mix various sources. This is timed to the video using Virtualdub, which takes about one hour's work for each minute of video. After the sound track is completed, I remove all the original sound from the video and substitute the new track.
Ted, Fabulous! Your railway seems to have a life of its own and the videos with their wonderfully dubbed sound are a marvel. No wonder my grandson George said "You would think it was real!" He hasn't seen this one yet. Are you coming to ExpoNG this year? Noel
This is a great layout always a pleasure to watch your videos. Are you able to supply the dimensions of the layout? I see that Peco , Heljan and Bachmann are ll bringing out some RTR Locos and Rollingstock in 009
The saddle tank is powered by a Kato 11-104 chassis. The model was made for an 11-103, which is slightly shorter but has the same power unit. The side skirts hide the unnatural wheelbase.
+Sir_Fedora - more than minecraft! Most of the trains were kitbashed or scratchbuilt. A few are ready-made models, such as the Fourdees Glyn Valley locomotive.
What an absolute gem of a NG layout.
The Britain we miss the most. Smell, sounds, colors and that unique mood..... 🇬🇧🏴
Fab! I want to go there on holiday

An excellent video. Hello from the Tracy Mountain Railway in Colorado. ♡ T.E.N.

As of this comment, there are 10 miserable people in this world. I cannot how anyone could down thumb this splendid little railway.
Stunning. :)

Are you able to supply the dimensions of the layout?
I see that Peco , Heljan and Bachmann are ll bringing out some RTR Locos and Rollingstock in 009
What a beautiful layout! Excuse my ignorance, but what is the difference between a steam team and a steam train?
A steam tram was the predecessor of an electric or diesel-powered tram, usually running next to or in a public highway.
What part of Great Britain is this supposed to be? Beautiful modeling.
What chassis are you using in the saddle tank locomotive ?
Do you have a 2D layout map of the track
It is on my website at www.009dutch.nl/cdr/. Go to the Bird's Eye View page.
That saddle tank looks remarkably familiar...
Did you use a Kerr Stuart engine as the basis?
The freelance saddle tank was made from a 3D printed body shell designed by Tom Bell (Tebee Models). It is indeed loosely based on a Kerr Stuart.
Mind if I inquire about the motor? I'd like to get into 009, and don't know where to start in terms of locomotives.
The saddle tank is powered by a Kato 11-104 chassis. The model was made for an 11-103, which is slightly shorter but has the same power unit. The side skirts hide the unnatural wheelbase.
Incredible, really realistic! Where did you get your trains?
+Sir_Fedora - more than minecraft!

+Ted Polet cool, thanks! How well does your tebee loco run, and which chassis did you use? Thanks
Ps- this is one of the best videos I have ever seen! Thanks for putting in so much effort!
its toby
