I love the look of these three colours - especially the blue! I try very hard not to fall into the rabbit hole of collecting Roman Szmal paints but they make it really hard to resist 😂
Oh! That's some mental strength! It's a rabbit hole with a to of pull XD
Do you know what colors you would get first, if you ever got int collecting them?
@@EveBolt I think I would go for the Aquarius colours - and also for the ones with unusual pigments... I’m still strong for now as I have sooo many paints and painting ideas!
I loooove your paintings and this colours are awesome! 😻
Thank you so much! 😀
adorable cat painting 🙂
Thank you so much :)
I love a well-used painting desk. No need to apologize!!
Hehe! It sees a lot of use, that's for sure :)
Interesting! That titanium brown looks color I might get at some point. Looks very handy for painting animals.
I agree! I think it would work as a "fawn" color, or a good base for it :)

I like all three colors and will add them to my Roman Szmalset. Thanks for the video
You're welcome! I'm glad you like all three of them! :D
I need to try the cobalt blue light and the chrome oxide green dark. I have never liked the army green version of chrome oxide green but thus one looks really nice! I love manganese blue so I have been searching for a less expensive alternative.
Manganese blue, you'll forever be missed 😭
This chromium oxide green is like a cobalt green dark in terms of hue, it's really striking in that aspect! Not at all the army green that is the "standard" for this pigment.
I thought the exact same thing about the green, Eve…it looks a lot more like Cobalt Green Deep than ANY PG17 I’ve ever seen. I’m curious to try mixes with it and the brown, & while the blue is lovely, I’m perplexed at not just how many blues there are in the line, but how many Cobalts…& more specifically, PB28s! I know they can change based on how they’re prepared, but have you come across any other line of paints with so many variations? I certainly haven’t, but hope you’ll update us after you’ve had the chance to use it more. Thank you as always for bringing us the “art supply tea,” and generously making & sharing your beautiful work with us!
Thank you so much! :3
I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get interesting results when making my limited palette little painting, as it's a fairly limited palette, quite opaque and very textured. Turns out, mixing the three colors to varying degrees makes for a really beautiful blue-green! In my opinion anyway XD
The brown and green are fun to mix together, but I think I'd rather mix the green with a truly transparent color. Or perhaps add a third granulating green in there for some extra textures! I feel like I'd try mixing the brown and the green, and then add a green gold (PY129) or a nickel azo yellow (PY150) just to see what kind of effect I'd get! XD
I like the new pans, it can be hard to get magnetic tape to stick to the old ones!
Ooo, that's a good observation! The logo is a great texture for adhesion XD
Thanks for the video, Eve! I might have passed on the cobalt blue light, but this version does appear to be closer to a true manganese blue than other brands. I just might “need” this.
The quest for the perfect Manganese blue dupe! The original set the bar really high though, no color I've seen has come close to that level of saturation and the hue!!
There's something weird going on with PG17 Chromium Green in general, in all literature and the manufacturer's own description it doesn't "granulate" but I feel like in practice, nearly all of them granulate anyway.
I agree!! It's one of the few "inexpensive' granulating greens out there.
Wow so lovely, good swatches. I really love Roman Szmal watercolors and fear for my wallet if they ever come out with tube paints.
Your wallet might be safe for a while, as it's no easy task to make tube paints ;)
I really like that Cobalt Blue Light! What a gorgeous hue! I’d love to see some swatches comparing it to other blues. And the dark green is lovely too!
I have swatches of all my Roman Szmal paints, maybe I could put together a video like that! :)
Nice set of colors. The green is my favorite
The green is such a unique hue for that pigment :D
They actually made quite a nice palette! Thanks for sharing with us. 😻
Beautiful swatch page and painting. I feel inspired 😊
The three colours that I wanted to try! Yay!
Very pretty ❤😮
The new PB28 piqued my interest because it seems more transparent compared to the Cobalt Sea Blue (semi-opaque) which I currently have on the palette. I guess a side by side comparisone will help me decide between the two. The chromium oxide green seems quite interesting but I still haven't figured out that pigment and how to work properly with that kind of opacity since I lean more over viridian, terre verte or the greenish raw umber.
Maybe I should do a video going over all the swatches I have for this range. I don't have all the colors, but I have a fair amount and it might be helpful to see some of these altogether?
Off the top of my head, I think the sea blue variant is more aqua/cyan than this new color. I'd have to check to be sure, though!
@@EveBolt That's what I thought as well from watching your videos. I think videos which put them side by side are very helpful for deciding. They are pretty rare and mostly diveded by categories but they do really help particularly when new colors are introduced because everybody wonders what's the difference with the already existing range? I picked my scarlet for the palette after watching a reel on YT.
