My Teenage years are coming back to me with this Album, Thank You 🖤
Don't you think he gotta do The Hunting party album? That shit showed us the heavy side of this band.
Same here
Yes
Yep, I remember the making of this video on MTv, wen music ruled that station
Same
The line "I wanna heal, I wanna feel" really clicks when you've been avoiding and stuffing down and hiding from your emotions for so long, you don't even know what they are anymore. You gotta feel if you're gonna heal, and that's the bottom line.
Obligatory "cuz Stone Cold said so".
@@amythechocoholic5761 Haha nice. Same thing came to mind.
Very true. You just feel emotionally numb and tired all the time until you open up to someone and discover whats buried deep down
And that's the bottom line cause stone cold said so! wwe reference
Same. That line and this song made me cry.
This song actually saved my life. I can actually remember the exact details of the day when I first heard this song. I was in sixth grade, my English teacher Miss Lake was playing it quietly while we all were in study hall. I came up to her after class, asked what the album was that this was on. She handed me a burned copy she was going to give to her fiance and said she could always get another one.
I played it until it couldn't play anymore on my walkman, from start to finish, and this song in particular, over and over. I even bought myself two real copies and wore them down too. But it was this CD, and this song specifically, that made me feel like I wasn't alone in the world. I understood the pain they sang about. It's been like 10+ years since I listened to it, but I still have every word memorized, every sound. I wouldn't be here if I hadn't heard this song on that rainy Friday afternoon in my small middle school in Minnesota studying. While it wasn't just this song I played until my CDs were unusable, it was this song that started the beginning of a new life for me.
I don't know where you are today, Miss Lake, or where your life has taken you. I know you'll never see this message, you'll never know what a crazy impact you've had on my life and I'm sure you won't even remember who I am. I've always tried to pay it forward, and I've succeeded, staying up sometimes until 6 in the morning with people considering suicide to make sure that I can give them the same feeling of belonging that you gave me so many years ago.
What a story man, hope you're doing good👋
@@luclenoir4119 Much better now! Once in a while I get down into a hole but I've made many amazing friends over the years (many of whom struggle with my same or similar problems) and they help dig me out of it.
Specifically, there's a lady that has become like a little sister to me that I met about two years ago. Her brother committed suicide years ago, and as a result her metal band has a hard anti-suicide message. They give out free stuff with the 988 Suicide Prevention hotline logo. They recently just released their first EP and did a music video for a song that was specifically written about her brother called Hope. Most of the other members also have either almost done it themselves or know someone that has tried or succeeded.
Kinda reminds me of the song Life is Beautiful by Sixx:AM. Not that I ever did heroin like he did, but just, you don't realize how beautiful life is or the opportunities you miss out on when you're that close to the edge, but once you hit rock bottom and start making changes to get better, you really see the forest through the trees that depression blinds you to.
Your story is amazing. ❤
@@Lemons19902010 Thank you!
LP hits different when you grow older and finally REALLY understand what they're talking about.
Couldn't say it better, You're very true
Truer words have never been spoken. I loved linkin park growing up, but now i love them for a different reason.
Mike Shinoda was probably one of my favorite "rappers" when i was a kid, despite him not really being a solo rapper until Fort Minor
you should listen to his solo album post traumatic, or heck even some b-sides from LP like reading my eyes
He wasn't solo in Fort Minor
@@daddyfatsack6754 fort minor was actually considered a solo project where Shinoda had full control. He just had a lot of features on it.
There are still songs on the album that are just shinoda by himself.
he still is my favorite rapper
@@daddyfatsack6754 Technicly yes since he had a hell of a lot of features on rising tied but Fort Minor as a "group" is only him
This is the song that got me hooked as a kid, so much Nostalga, easily in my Top 5 All Time Favourite Songs!
Same for me. It's one of the few songs that I can remember where I was when I first heard it.
I Absolutely agree
I'd give anything to experience this song for the first time over again. So much nostalgia
What's the other 4 songs bro? Do tell
I wish I could hear meteora for the first time again, that goosebump feeling when you only know Numb from the album and you decide to listen to it full...man
I dont remember the first time i heard hybrid theory and meteora song, because i was young and basically heard them from my brother playing them on the stereo, but i became a fan and they are my favorite band.
But the first time i heard them after Chesters suicide, it felt like completely different songs... I just questioned myself how i never realized how much of a cry for help this albums are.
From the lyrics, it seems that this song isn't about depression - not as most people know it. This song is about when you have felt so much pain that there is nothing left. You remember what it was like to feel happy, and to feel sad, but you don't feel that anymore. You don't feel anything anymore, except a longing to be able to feel anything other than numb.
It is an optimistic track to me. "I will break away, I'll find myself today" Hybrid Theory - Meteora were good times.
It s uplifting tho.
Imo its about not feeling like you used to and wanting to be in another place hoping you'll change for the better
That is literally depression.
Uh. That’s exactly what depression is like 😂 it’s literally textbook depression
React to *LEAVE OUT ALL THE REST* - Linkin Park
It sucks that Chester's time has come.
Oh I love that song from MTM !!!
Definitely one of my Favorites. I first heard this on the radio at the time I was getting news that my older brother passed away. It was like he himself left me a message through leave out all the rest.
I sang it at his Funeral.
Make this happen
Tears will be dropped with that song 😎
Chester is Unique , one of a kind and irreplaceable 😢😢😢
He saved me from my drug addiction 🙏🙏
Edit: Breaking the habit was about Chester’s breaking his drug addiction
Don't put him on a pedestal. You saved yourself from drug addiction. I don't mean this negatively please don't think that. Keep up the recovery and stay strong.
@@MidnightSky1821 I was going to say the same thing. Never give someone else credit for your accomplishment. They may have inspired you, but quitting is a personal choice and something each person has to deal with. If music helps you get through it, do what you gotta do to help yourself. But remember, like Gemini said... It's YOUR strength that deserves the praise. Kudos to you Arsenal for breaking away from your addiction. You are also an inspiration for anyone else looking to break their habits.
@@christophertemple8120 Well said man well said!
Gemini Skies I don’t agree with what you say because we couldn’t be here for the one that got us to change. Chester had always asked for help we didn’t listen.
Me tooo bro i was drug addict too
Linkin park is def my biggest inspiration, ever since I was a kid I wanted to scream just like chester
Two Face dude holy shit your music is fucking amazing
Wow u have some damn good screams, keep it up
Your song I’n the wake of your hate goes hard !
Two Face I can scream I had to have a vocal coach
This song on Live In Texas is soooo good. Especially Chesters “1,2,3,4!!!” count in at the beginning of the song. It adds so much!
@Marcel Simonin thank you for that.....
That concert Chester was unbelievable
Love how you respect Chester 🤘 would love to see your reaction to Breaking the Habit. Probably Chester's loudest cry for help in any song he has done.
That and "Easier To Run". So much that Chester refused to perform it.
He has done Breaking the Habit dude
@@metalmayhem007 not the official music video which, tbh, is far better than the live recording imho :)
Funny because of lyircs wrote Mike Shinoda nad Chester was not able to sing it 2 years
What about leave out all the rest bruh
LP are the only band i've ever found where i can unconditionally say I love all their songs
This brings me back to 14-15-16 years old, studying the lyrics to each one of their songs just so I could sing along to my idols ❤❤❤
I remember trying scream like chester in my room lol
Linkin Park's Meteora and Hybrid Theory albums got me through some of the most painful years of my life.💙 Also, that hat is 🔥🔥
Linkin Park after Linkin Park... I like what I'm seeing here! What a great channel dude, love it so much and thank you a lot man... keep on doing and stay safe everyone!🤘🏼
One of there top 10 greatest songs
XZAVIER DAA GOD more like their top 1 greatest song
This song has always had a special place in my heart. I was 17 when it came out and it still hits hard 17 years later. It really showcases something that anyone with depression and/or anxiety battles with on a daily basis. That desire to be better, to be normal, to move forward, to be able to maintain healthy relationships and to move about in society with confidence and yet always finding yourself falling back into the same cycles of doubt and negativity. Feeling hollow and alone and blaming yourself for your inability to function like a normal human being. Linkin Park, and Chester specifically, had such a gift for turning these feelings into profound lyrics and cathartic songs and it’s so sad to know that we will never have that perfect combination again. LP is iconic and truly one of a kind. Miss you Chester.
Please, One More Light!!! Prepare the tears!!!
@Christopher Bingham ahhh!!! Thanks for telling me
My mom loves this song!!
Funny fact: the "swipping" intro was actually written by Chester Bennington while he was playing some weird stuff on the acoustic guitar, then Mike Shinoda has sampled it, reverse it, and "cut" it (like into 4 pieces).
Funny fact #2: That was their first single recorded with the bassist Dave "Phoenix" Farrell.
Meteora came out at a low time in my life and this album, as well as Hybrid Theory, became my soundtrack of that era.
I remember watching MTV`s Making The Video where they made the video for this song.
When MTV was still about music, memories
I forgot how good this song and video was thanks for sharing Alex
I'll never forget counting down the days for the video to premiere, I was glued to my TV when this dropped. Such a big moment, people forget it had been almost 3 years since Hybrid Theory dropped, so we were clamoring for some new LP haha.
Best music video ever
Chester's live performances are SO Powerful ... I'm not one of those "gives me chills" kind of guys ... but seeing him do "Given Up" gave me legitimate goosebumps... not to mention he can actually hold that 17 second scream while hardly taking a breath beforehand.
Those were the first metal songs I used to listen to, it's so weird to see you discovering all of them after all this time.
My favourite LINKIN PARK song! Love the contrast between Mike and Chester, yet they blend so perfectly
Man I just found your channel, and I can’t stop listening to the greatest band of all time and watching your videos!
OMG !! Every time I hear Chester's voice, I get chills ,if you listen to any of his songs his lyrics always seem to mention thoughts of hopelessness, despair,
not "belonging"here ,ALL premonitions of what was to come !!! Everytime 1 of his songs ends ,I just shake my head ,& think what a WASTE of a life !!!
R.I.P. BRO ! 😪🙏
Im so hyped that you're reacting to the whole album and especially in order. Omg I'm loving this and no matter where I am or what I'm doing, I am going to click as soon as I get the notification. Linkin Park is hands down my favorite artist/group. Brings back so many good and sad memories of my first time seeing them live, my favorite being at Projekt Revolution. Keep up the videos Alex and stay safe!
With you ( rock am ring 2004 live ) is nuts 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 2001 live version killer also
Chester was on his top of his game ( it’s a must)
Uv gained a new subscriber 🤘🤘
The Arsenal Revolution IMO, the
Rock AM Ring 2001 version of ‘With You’ is better and UNF*CKWITHABLE...
First ep released off this album. I still remember when this video premiered and it was the first of the new album anyone heard and it was so fucking good man. It sounded EXACTLY like them and how we knew they wanted to sound.
I cannot wait for Alex to react to "Faint" off this album, all the songs are so good, but this, this will punch you in the face boiiiee
Hes already reacted to faint like a year ago look it up bud

Amorphis - Silent Waters
And Somewhere I Belong is my favorite LP song.
Read that someone’s teen years are coming back while I’m here in my teen years and been listening since 7th grade now I’m a junior in high school, I’ve always liked their music. Rip Chester Bennington 🙏🏼
I love so many of their songs. Got a whole Spotify list dedicated to them. My favourite band of all time!
Leave Out All the Rest is my favorite Linkin Park song. It's softer but sooooo good!
Is Knights Of Cydonia by Muse gonna be done soon Alex?
react to "Lying from You" by lp ♥
every time I hear this song, it feels like I'm hearing listening to it for the first time !!! It's that original. Linkin Park is the band that beats the test of time
I'm legimately crying, this is still my absolute favorite song of all times and it still hurts every time I listen to it
If u're into LP's #Meteora album righ now...
Then definitely listen/react to this song call,
*Nobody's Listening
Such an underrated song!
They even performed this song live once or twice probably..
And U'll find a Japanese flavour in it! So cool
You've heard so many great metal songs and you're still a hip-hop head?
He's a LP-type hybrid.
@Morbid Angel is better than Death BeCaUsE It'S NoT TrUE MeTaL
there is no true or best metal. if you say that u just another poser -.-
I mean, I listen to a lot of rap for a metalhead. Doesn't make me a hip-hop head lol
@@giacomo2836 Metal is just aggressive Blues
Love this one, thank you for sharing your reaction.
How well Mike and Chester worked together is highlighted even more during live performances. They're constantly backing each other up to add layers or emphasis. Also, I love how multi-functional Mike is. He raps, of course, but you'll also see him on guitar and keyboard and later on in the band's career he even takes the lead in some of the singing to give a different effect than Chester does. ^_^
I cant wait for when you react to hybrid theory
Meteora > Hybrid Theory
@@MysticClaws100 I love Meteora but no, for me Hybrid Theory is way better
@@urlifabio yep hybrid theory is better than meteora
Probably one of th best linkin park songs, you need to react to Faint live rock am ring 2007☹️
This song got me through a rough time in my life. I will be eternally grateful to Linkin Park.
So glad you are doing the albums!!
Man, you have to see Slaughter To Prevail - DEMOLISHER. That new track is insane!
Where's my fellow *_Polaris_* and *_Shadow Of Intent_* requesters at?!
Both are the upcoming stars of their genre with literally no bad songs in their whole discography!
i love how they switch up between mike's rapping and chester's screaming
One of my favorite LP songs glad you reacted to it man
Alex Hefner, I've noticed that you haven't done a reaction to their song "easier to run" and I think you would love it...
Pleeeeeease, react the Slaughter to Prevail - DEMOLISHER !!!
Fuck yeah dude i just listened to it and it fuckin SLAMS!

those lyrics & chester's voice..... is love
When I got this album after it was released it came with a disc smaller than a CD. Had some bonus content and had a couple music videos if I remember right and this being one of the music vids. Makes me feel so old and I’m only 27 lol
Check out Slaughter to Prevail - Demolisher after this LP album
Age is only a number :)
That was the first album i ever bought!
Code Orange - Swallowing The Rabbit Whole
"Somewhere I Belong" was always a special one for me. But then again they have a ton of songs that are special for me. But I agree, whenever I revisit these albums, everytime I can't help but sit back and think, "Goddamn, these guys know how to write a song" lol
The first two, three albums in particular are just a bunch of perfect songs. It's insane how talented this whole band really is 👍👌
Oh yeah I'm so ready for more LP reactionssss!

As a 1992 kid now 28, seeing you enjoying my favorite band since childhood makes me smile
Thanks Alex! So Glad your going though all their album. I love Chester so much. Losing him is still devastating. He was such a talent. The whole band is amazing.
Loving this, I would recommend to react to Mike Shinodas Over Again. Honest as hell and you can feel it.

Fun fact: the intro is an inverted acoustic guitar track
Please reakt to “Crawling“ next, its my favorit song from Linkin Park
Thankkkyouuu for the album reaction of lppppp loveee ittttt
Man, never saw the video...did see Breaking the Habit, and it had a distinctive anime style, but to see him have the same Gundam models on the dresser I had makes it hit even harder...there is an ANCIENT anime music video of the first season of Naruto in the Water Country arc set to this song that just gripped me as a kid...not sure if it's still out there, but this song hits so much harder with the context that Chester was so much like myself...damn, Rest in Power, dude...
Also react to Critical Acclaim Live in LBC - Avenged Sevenfold
He’ll likely never see this but this performance is fucking nutty.
Second heartbeat on warped tour
Ah, this brings back memories.
Edit: press "F" for Chester.
Thank you for doing this!
One blast from the past after another. Great times. Thanks 🤘🏻Alex🤘🏻!! 💗🌻

You should do Dance Gavin Dance "We own the night" or Rings of Saturn "Senseless Massacre". Either would be rad, although I really think you'd love Dance Gavin Dance. Thanks!
