He definitely sounded vocally and possibly physically worn out on this recording. When he amped up the intensity he nailed it, but the lower register was wobbly. No matter what, he did a good job overall, and he'll always be remembered as a legend.

Fun Fact: Mike wrote this song FOR Chester when Chester was going through substance abuse. When Chester was given the lyrics from Mike, Chester broke down in tears. (there's a video somewhere where Chester stated this himself)
It's one of my favorite songs to sing because you really have to control your breathing and the vocal range really works out the vocal chords. Such an amazing person inside and out, not just as a rock star, but as a genuine person.

as far as I know it wasn't written for Chester, Mike started to write that song long before they met, it was about his school mate or something. But it's true that Chester broke down when he read the lyrics for the first time, it hit him hard 'cause he felt so much related to it and it was super hard for him to record this song, it took him many times to do it

@@alalewowska856 exactly, Mike had some lyrics of the song. When they were making Meteora, Mike showed Chester the song and he felt identificated with the lyrics, so he helped Mike with the rest, eventhough it wasn't for him, this was one of his favorites songs

Chester understood his voice as being an instrument. He didn't blow out his vocal chords doing his craft the wrong way. He understood air compression and he used it better than anyone else on this planet. I believe had he survived his voice would have never faltered. He knew what he was doing and no one past, present or future will ever compare to his natural talent. To go from screams to singing is not an easy thing to do. And he did it flawlessly. I can care less who disagrees, multiple singing coaches will agree, he was beyond anyone else on this earth. RIP Chester Bennington. Your life was hard but your talent was golden.. I miss you. We all do. And always will. We shared the same birthday, except he was born in 76 and I in 80. Always felt a kinship. The music LP created never made me feel anything but absolute connection and it was like they were speaking from my very soul. Seeing them 3 times, the best one was at House of Blues. Coheed and Cambria opened for them, another fav band. And I caught a drum stick at the end of LP set. House of Blues is a small venue and it was so intimate. It was a dream come true.

Over the years a couple of the musical artists I grew up listening to have passed on. I feel for them like a family member or @ the least a dear friend. It's hard to hear that someone you have become very fond of & felt close to has passed away especially when it was someone who shared their emotions, struggles & pain with you, (their fans), through their music.
So to deal with these feelings I listen to the music they made, I watch youtube videos & if their's a "Foundation" set up for the proceeds of their music to go to, then I'll try to support that Foundation/Fund.
[ I am a very big fan of Amy Winehouse & her passing away was devastating, I didn't want to believe she was gone but she left her fans with her music. Music was her greatest love & making a record for all to listen to was her goal!]
So cherish your idols contribution to the Art of Music & for the amount of talent, courage, strength & determination they had!
I'm sure "they" wouldn't want us to Loose Our Love 4 Music because of their demise. We'd just be punishing ourselves!??

I saw them live when i was like 13. It was right after their 3rd album dropped. They played all 3 albums (almost) in their entirety. Still, to this day. It was the best show I've ever seen.

I really wish that there was more mental health support for celebrities, they are literally screaming out for help with their lyrics but are ignored because it's bringing in the cash. They are human like the rest of us and diserve the same mental health care as all of us.

So so so many tears from this. Still so painful to listen to Linkin Park and Chester. Thanks again Alex you are always so genuine with your reactions - never afraid to be honest or try new genres. You are a beautiful soul and I am honored to know you if only through UA-cam and social media platforms. If I ever met you in real life I would not even know what I would say. Love you and your lovely Sarah. Continue to stay safe. Much love and continued support from Kansas. 💗🌻 🤘🏻🤘🏻

This right here was my favourite.
I remember arguing with my best friend and her brother, who both thought Easier to Run 'sounded the best' and could never understand why I got emotional over it.
They had a completely different childhood and life experience than I did, and so the song was never gonna hit them the way it did me. It still does.
    Brings me right back.

This was my first Linkin Park experience. I remember seeing the video and just being absolutely amazed by the anime style it used. His screams and melodies on this song have so much emotion (much like a lot of his songs). Another thing about this song (for me at least) was how different it sounded. When I first heard this, I primarily listened to country and pop songs (weird combo, I know) and this was heavy and different.

Agreed. There is no denying how amazing this performance is, and I will never try. The music video version (studio version?) has so much intensity to it, the video adds an entire layer of depth to this song that takes it from the 8-9 it is here to a freaking 12-13... out of 10.

If I can be real for a moment though, Chester took his life at a time where I was thinking of doing so myself, and as much as it still hurts, seeing how much he's been missed and how it shook not only his fans but society as a whole was part of what convinced me to keep on living
