There are drinkers and alcoholics among our dear Naga brothers and sisters who support the nbcc. Move to prohibit free alcohol in our society. Since, the initiative of the nbcc. The new naga genarations, that is our children's are mostly against parental and senior drinkers. They are mostly not involved in high school and early higher secondary school students partying into family problems. In the naga society before the British era, drunkenness was a shame, when at that time every family brew rice bear. During British era, foreigners enjoyed the brew as great hosbitability of our naga culture. when in my young 80's I saw my khel and towns are dangerous for those drunkerds when evening falls. As such, our poor earning father's or bread winners of the family after a stingy owners labourous earning spends extravagantly in the booze joint. Leaves the wife and children hungry. There are naga for Christ, live by the provision of the poor. Who is who? They are turning into zombies. We strongly support nbcc, long Live nbcc. Hell, with hipocrisy naga so called Christians. Please forgive me, in the name of our Almighty God Jesus Christ, amen

@walotsuhah1099 I stand with you. It's one's own opinion but as a child myself, have shed enough tears and been heartbroken by my dad all just because of alcohol. It is really one root cause of evil. I'm already 28 and have seen my dad like this since I was very young and I still cry most nights within the four walls of my room.

Case 1. During our childhood days we had one alcoholic uncle alias Captain Haddock. He taught us to humble, love every one around us especially the poor and to become worthy to society when we grow up. He was a cheerful giver and an upright person despite his drinking habits. He died early, may be because of extra consumption substandard liquor.
Case 2. Another uncle who religiously goes to church entertained us with gossips, equal divison of family properties, plans for foreign trips (never materialised) blah... which will be followed by loudest prayer before leaving. His wife died, re-married after 60+ and living not so contented life (as per our observation).
Conclusion: An alcoholic person could become a role model of Moral values while, a teetotaller can also be a characterless person.
However, peaceful and mutual co-existence is essential along with the personal liberty of food habits ✌🏻.

Not everyone can have a seemingly perfect family like Joe’s, where they view alcohol as harmless and even beneficial, both for themselves and future generations, Alcohol is harmless to them.

Ofcourse everything is harmful for our body if taken excessively. For example if you take sugar excessively you'll get diabetes. Where as we know how important sugar is for our body function.

Sir. Joel approach was purely practical. I give 10/10.
" Govt. enacted this NLTP act fearing the church leaders will influence the voters to vote out the govt. as anti christian govt."👏👏👏
Well good news is through this burning issue in Nagaland the Govt. of Assam reduce the price of the alcohol.
NBCC should realise now that the people have woken up and demands lifting up of NLTP act which is a total failure. NBCC should not shy away with the failure and they should not blame the government for it's failure because the Govt. from the beginning was totally not in favour of NLTP act. So, how can we expect a govt. to strictly implement this act when the govt. never favoured NLTP act!

Such talks are needed to understand the perspective from all sides. All five of them were, patient, respectable and open minded to each other's point of view. This is how a talk on an issue should be. After listening to all of them, we can't really take sides as all of them are with genuine concerns. There has to be a committee or something that stands between both NBCC and Government, who takes concerns of both sides and make the decision, whereas we follow it as citizens.

The question transcends the mere issue of Prohibition; it touches upon the deeper "failure" of the NLTP Act. Failure, in this context, is not simply the absence of success but reflects a profound inability to address the root of the human condition-our struggle to discipline the heart and will. True transformation cannot be legislated; it must arise from within, from a heart renewed by grace. As long as the soul remains distant from divine truth and unanchored in virtue, any attempt to refrain people from destructive habits, such as alcoholism, will only deal with symptoms, not the spiritual sickness at its core. True freedom from addiction comes when the soul is liberated by the transformative power of God's love and grace, which alone can heal the wounds of sin and restore the will to what is good and holy.

  • @koteelah9499
    @koteelah9499 8 днів тому +7

The logical arguments of Mrs. Rosemary and Colo Mero is noteworthy to be taken into serious consideration.
From what I can deduct from these arguments.
    1. Whether NLTP act is lifted or not Alcohol would always be available. The present failure in implementing NLTP Act is no less than a partial implementation. In short it is partially lifted.
    2. NLTP Act was passed considering the context of that time and have served its purpose. However, context have changed with the passage of time and is now redundant and a failure for the present context.
    3. It is the prerogative of the state government to implement NLTP Act and not pass the buck to NBCC for its failure to implement the Act.
    4. Food is a choice, therefore neither the government nor the Church should dictate on that choice.
    5. NLTP Act is a non issue if both the government and the Church address the moral- ethical values of its employees and members.
    6. In any case the government plans to lift the NLTP Act, it should review its past failures and streamline strategies to mitigate the repurcussion of Alcohol related abuses. For which the government need a serious consultations with NBCC and civil societies.
    7. A partial lifting of the Act won't be a solution at all, rather, it could agravate the existing menace of Alcoholism and corruptions. Either it should be a total lifting with strict regulations or Total implementation of the said Act.

The church, as the body of Christ, is called to be a beacon of spiritual truth, not merely an enforcer of moral codes. The NBCC's focus on the legalistic enforcement of the NLTP Act seems to neglect the more profound spiritual battle at play. If saving souls is the true concern, then why is there not a greater emphasis on prayer, outreach, and spiritual warfare in the areas where alcohol infiltration is rampant? The law can mandate behavior, but it cannot transform hearts. Only the Gospel of Christ has the power to do that.
