I remember as a young mom I was so stressed at times. My husband worked 11pm-7am in a mill and I worked day shift at many different jobs. It was hard to get together sometimes. We had 4 kids and it seemed I was always on the run. I remember when I waitressed I would get home about 2:15 and I would nap on the couch until the kids got home from school. About 20 minutes. Then I would start my second job of running the house. I left a load of clothes in the dryer and one in the washer most mornings. I’m 74 now and I’m unable to do a lot. But I don’t regret all that running to ball practice and games. Just last Thanksgiving my youngest son told me how much he appreciates all I did.

What an amazing mother you are and it's really lovely that your son remembers just how much you did for your family. I had two amazing parents who are now in Heaven. My Mum passed away from stage four cancer on the 26th December 2020 when she was 73. I found my Dad after he unexpectedly fell asleep in his sleep 13 months and one day after Mum passed and he was 74. I love my parents dearly and due to my lifelong specialists giving me two years at the most to live 13 years ago we all thought I'd pass away first. I had to give up being a teacher and a solo foster Mum which was extremely hard for me as it was a big part of my life to help and serve others. It's been heartbreaking having to continue without them as we were a good team together but they will always ve in my heart. Enjoy your time in life as you have done all the hard work. You deserve to rest, spend time with any grandchildren you may already have or will have and anything else you love. Thank goodness that God blessed this world with amazing parents like mine and yourself. Xx❤😊

Sometimes when I m having a rough day and I just can’t imagine having to do it all over again tomorrow my daughter will do something like this- kiss me or hug me or clean something without being asked and It gives me that needed boost to get through. Like this little girl right here hugging me is why I’m doing what I’m doing!! Makes it worth the stress

I am a now single mom with the youngest six still at home 18-9. I teach at a private Christian school, tutor students in the evenings, I’m a grandma (with grandchildren out of town) and mom with so many activities to get kids to. Sometimes I feel like I’m going ten different ways at once.

I find that my older children who are transitioning to adulthood need a lot more attention and help than the youngers. But just blessed that they look to us and appreciate having the our help.

Sarah, You are definitely are a good Proverbs 31 wife and mother. You are an inspiration. My children are grown. My youngest is Juda's age. Sometimes, I find it more difficult to be a parent of older children than littles. I have a tendency to worry than trust God as much as I should. When I get overwhelmed I pray, read the Bible or play Christian music.

When me and friend feel stressed out we take pictures of our English bulldogs and send them to each other. We love our bulldogs. Just a simple picture can brighten up your day.

Love how all the kids love the new family members. I work 10 hour days 5 days a week with 4 children at home. I get home about 630pm and the 1st thing is dinner, most of the time the protein has been made in advance. Then Check school work and back packs. Then shower. Then I set a timer for 10 minutes and clean each room for only that time. Then it is time to sit and relax until about 1030 when I head to bed.
You can keep the milk cold on the drive home by filling a large cooler part way with water and a bag of store-bought ice where it will cover the jars about halfway up. We used to do this to keep our raw milk cold on our long drives home, and it worked great!
As long as the great room is picked up including dishes put away helps me❤

I just had my 2 year old I the hospital. Have a 5 year old and a husband with dementia. Talk about a mess. Getting everyone where they belong and the house! It’s amazing how fast the house can go to pits. I think having picked up the house the biggest stress reliever
I know there are so many people with a lot more stresses than I have. These seasons are very challenging!!
still watching the video but just wanted to say i hear ya! I have 4 kids i work from home and homeschool the littles and its very overwhelming sometimes and my oldest is on a college internship 1200 miles away and being away at dinner time and now the holidays is the worst feeling. You always think the hardest times are when they are little but its when they become adults that breaks my heart. Also I hope you r church prays over you both as we know our church leaders really do carry a very hard burden and we pray for you and your wonderful leadership may you all be refreshed in this holy week. Take care and love getting to watch your family and we are inspired by you all.
My little guardian son, before he passed from CF, would tell me 25 times a day, " Mommy I love you". Just as many times a day he would say "Mommy can I have a hug". I had him for 6 1/2 years, happy, loving, and joyous years. Seth loving you so much, reminds me of those precious memories. Also home made cottage cheese, my grandma and I used to make it. Wonderful memories.

Hi Sarah and family! Thank you for this video. As a 65 year old mother of two and grandmother of three, I have to make myself rest. I’m a people pleaser and could work myself ragged at my job, at home or in my garden but I choose not to. I have learned to pace myself to have a good balance of work, fun and relaxation. 🥰

It can be so crazy. I feel like I live in my car half the day dropping off, picking up, running errands. I’m looking forward to homeschooling my kids next year just to stay out of the car 😂 I also ask myself some days “What have I done?!” thinking about my life choices, but then I get a sweet hug and kiss from my littles (like Seth giving you kisses) and I remember why. You are doing a great job. I know you don’t need me to tell you that. Thank you for sharing all you do.
Thank you for talking about transition stages. We are a small family just me my husband and our 2 month old. But wow the adjustment has been hard- but we will get thru and be okay. Just one season of many!
I definitely feel you when you said baby keeps you up at night and teens wanting to talk at late hours I have kids in both age groups and it’s a struggle! My teen will see me free to talk during the day but for some reason opening up comes easy late at night

It's great that you make time for yourself. I'm retired but I have a home & adult son that I cook dinner for us. I have a busy social life and with my Temple. I make Monday a more relaxing day - sleep in, leisure breakfast, some walking, do some reading no cooking. Went out end of day to see a documentary. Evening some T.V., Italian study and more reading. To bed early by 11:00.

My dad ( passed from Alzheimers) would have had a ball with a camera on, when he was healthy. He had an out going, laughs alot, cutting up personality😂
I just turned 51, so he passed away..will be 10 years come July.

I just put the top cream in a big jar and shake it up for a bit , then pour the buttermilk off and you have butter!
We carry burdens but sometimes our burdens can really carry us- to accomplish the things that we need to do to help others!
Have you thought of getting pitcher with a bottom pour spout? You could pour the milk in and then after the cream rises drain off the milk and then just have the cream remaining! Just if a thought to save a wee bit of time. 😊

Mess! Definitely something I cannot cope with. Even when I’m cooking I have to clean as I go as I get so stressed when things are a mess. I definitely have OCD (obsessive cleaning disorder) and my home is kind of like a display home (but I have only a cat and hubby to clean up after), but like you I breath easier and am more productive when things are clean and organised. I’m definitely in awe of you, you have so much on your plate and yet you are still patient and sane. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I am a single mom of 3 boys. I work for Costco and absolutely love it.
When i am stressed or overwhelmed with work i will take the long way home and turn up some good music. When i am stressed or overwhelmed as a mom i take a timeout. Sometimes that means a walk around the block. Or a shower . Or cleaning the kitchen .
I try my best to be present and calm for my children; the privilege of being their mom is my daily purpose and motivation ❣
The teenager late night talks are always hard for me because I need my sleep! But I never regret that time because they know they can talk to me when they need to, and I feel good about their openness, which is hard for a teenager.
Such an amazing growth lesson. How quickly those ducks grew! Nessa with the ducks is happy to provide warmth and comfort! So sweet. The kids are so happy to have hands on learning! The best way to truly learn. Thumbs up!

Sarah, I always admire you and your homestead projects! It seems like you do everything with grace and humility. We are a family of ten and my husband leaves town for work for 9 days 2x a month. I’m the sole driver and caregiver during that time and it’s so easy to feel overwhelmed and undervalued. I remind myself that it won’t always be like this. I have started to keep a journal in 2023 where I write down my thoughts or daily activities or Bible verses that caught my eye and it’s been helpful to look back and realize I’m doing a important job by raising Godly children. Not everyone will know the sacrifices we do for our family but God and we will and that’s enough.
We just sold our home last week in a subdivision and will also be building a home this year on an acreage. I’m excited to see how things will turn out for us in the near future! What are the prices for the raw milk in your area? We have a small locally owned farm just seconds down the street from our new property and wanted to compare prices. Perhaps I’ll eventually take up some homesteading projects like you ;)

There’s so many comments I feel like should I even bother posting one. But I’m going through one of those uber busy times as well. Homeschool, remodeling our home, gardening, trying different businesses, and many other projects that have been thrown my way. It’s exhausting and stressful is it wrong to say it’s nice to see I’m not alone? I definitely relate to you that’s why I enjoy watching. Even if I’m so busy I can only watch half a video at a time.

I'm happy you're taking more time to rest cause I imagine managing 11 kids can be stressful. As for my destresser, I meditate on Sundays since I work 5 days a week in a warehouse and that can get mentally and physically draining at times lol

Try taking coolers with ice in them when you go get the milk! It will help chill it quickly and keep it better longer. Hope this helps! ♥️

When I feel stressed, I like to go walking at the park. Then come home and clean and do laundry. That's my stress relief. My children are grown and out of the house, but we are renovating our house, and you know how that can be. Great video. Hope you get some relief and get a little more rest.😊
Hey Sarah after you get the butter milk out save it of course but rinse you butter under cold water. That’s a super important step.

Hi from the UK.... just found your channel by mistake . Home Education family here.. I've 6 kids .1/2/3/11/15/17 ... my husband works long long hours and 3 of our children are austic. Love this video, you have highlighted what we all know. Rest more and so on ... its just so hard to practice, the baby gets you up early and the teens whatbthat important chat late into the night . I call My seasons, chapters and are the moment I feel I'm in the trenches. 😅😅. It's so tricky to balance espically with the prices of everything rising all the time. Its hard to see how it will improve but you have to keep hoping for better times x

Overwhelmed and overstressed doesn't even begin to describe it. My landlord has decided that they want to renovict my daughter and I, however with zero vacancy in our city, this will leave us homeless. Could really use some prayers for miracles. My mental health has definitely taken a downward spiral since receiving this devastating news. Watching your channel cheers me up.
