OLinemen protect specific space that relates to the launch point for the QB. At some point, the defensive lineman must attack that space in order to get to the QB. Good OLinemen are patient and wont chase defenders who don't truly threaten their space.
Here's a crazy idea that got lost a long time ago... If you play on the line, your only job is to secure it... Can someone explain to me when it became ok to get your ass kicked and pushed back 5 yards off the ball and still feel like you have anything to teach about the position lol? There used to be a time when we'd call these guys out on their bs...Bust now, it's OK to teach techniques and moves to people who can't even do job number 1...Holding the line lol...Good lord this universe is so weak these days
The game changed bud. If all you do is try to “hold the line” you’re going to lean and get tossed immediately. There’s more to the trenches now than just running into each other.
@@greggphelps7643 you should always be nasty but like I said a great defense of the bull rush is going to get you embarrassed if they don’t bull rush. If you try to stuff a speed rush at the line you have to overset and then you get countered inside. If you don’t understand modern football just say that
