- Alexander the Great was the world most feared warrior king. He died Pharaoh of Egypt and his body was a powerful political tool that enabled anyone possessing it to claim Egypt for themselves. His tomb was seen in the 4th Century AD in ancient Alexandria, and ever since people have searched hoping to find this holy grail of archaeology. Now using evidence from Alexander’s own journey through Egypt, we are perhaps close to solving one of history’s most enduring mysteries.

For some reason, I don't know why, but I just don't trust Hawass. I've never particularly trusted him. There's just something about him, but I don't know what it is? He's shifty. I feel like he's hiding something, like he knows more than he's letting on, like he's not telling us the whole story.

Agreed. The sound effects and music themselves were fine, but there were some real issues with the final mix. The narration is almost all on the left channel, and it’s so loud over there that it actually clips at times. The music and effects are in both ears, which makes them really distracting at points.

No clue in Alexandria of Alexander's tomb and not much of Cleopatras' footprint identified. Loved my recent visit in Alexandria. and gained an appreciation . Only did a day trip from Cairo, but plan to spend a week there this coming year.

Not an all true, as St. Marks Cathedral is in Seattle, Washington.
The legend asserts that Alexander is in the place of St. Mark in the Basilica of St. Mark in Venice. In that scenario, traders smuggled the body to Venice in 829 AD.
Unlikely in my opinion, as it would have been destroyed by Christian zealots as a symbol of paganism in 391 AD. Unfortunate history to be sure.
That Knob which is like a flower onthe tomb or chest, similar ones are seen in India and used as a motif for ornaments and cupboard knobs, atleast in South India where I come from.

There should be a document about his burial place. The romans ( imp August) visited the resting place and should have been Any document describing its location.
He was found in Siwa Oasis by a Greek archaeologist Liana Souvlatzis (last name is misspelled) and Zahid Hawass banned her from continuing in 1995.

He was placed in a tomb in alexandria and stayed there until some time after 200AD. This is documented and indisputable. Beyond that it was either destroyed or is still within the city somewhere

Imagine having all the power to have anything to do with Egyptian wealth and dig sites. He wanted to be the only one with the power, and for a long while, he was. Well, he turned bad. He is also against anyone who has any view besides his on Egyptian archeology.

Alexander was buried in the tomb of the Ptolemies, who were Pharaos of Egypt. Their tomb had to look like the tomb of a Pharao in the Valley of the Kings, to legitimize their power. It was a copy of a rock-cut tomb, with the sarcophagus of Alexander in the tomb chamber at the end, and the sarcophagi of the Ptolemies around it. The "Masoleum" and "Macedonian-style" tomb are complete nonsense. The Ptolemies built for themselves the tomb of a Pharao, because that's what they were.
