I said this on another video, but I do think he is either finished or *very* close. Between the 2 "words of wisdom" blog posts (and the 2nd one giving off a very playful and dare I say cheery aura) makes me think that he is hinting that it's done without actually saying so. I do think he has been asked to hold off on announcing it because this announcement would almost certainly overshadow House of the Dragon season 2. However...if this is all him just playing a joke or being a troll, it is in VERY bad taste and I am probably done waiting for the book. With the amount of build up the last few weeks have generated, anything less than a release announcement (or at least a SUBSTANTIAL update on his progress) would be one of the most tone-deaf things he has ever done.
Just watch him announce a new Wild Cards book at WorldCon instead. The poop storm that will come from that announcement would be insane! Yeah, at this point it’s Winds or bust. Or at least, something pertaining to Winds
The fact that he used that title for a previous blog post makes me believe that the “Words of Wisdom” blog titles don’t hold as much merit as many people would like to believe. We’ll see though. I just find myself hesitant to believe that Winds is coming soon

@@booktubeadvocateidk tho if he could somehow get in his groove like he had for a storm of swords its possible. Maybe whichever block was stopping him from writing has finally been overcome and now hes just flowin. I could just be overly optimistic though
Im pretty sure its just him hinting that hes working hard on the book again
How about no? Books will never get finished. Accept it guys.
He wrote winds twice
Don’t ask me why I know this, but he used Words of Wisdom as a title all the way back in April of 2014
The fact that he used that title for a previous blog post makes me believe that the “Words of Wisdom” blog titles don’t hold as much merit as many people would like to believe. We’ll see though. I just find myself hesitant to believe that Winds is coming soon
@@booktubeadvocate didn't he finish the book in 2014 but then scrapped it because it was a mess? That could have been when he thought that wow would be released sooj
In 2015, George stated that he realistically believed he could have the book out by 2016, just in time for Game of Thrones season 6. He was not able to meet that deadline
Fans have speculated that maybe he had the whole book written and then potentially scrapped it, but this hasn’t been proven
I want to know where will be the story goes after a dance with dragons 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Winter is coming
Maaaan we all know Brandon Sanderson is gonna finish it. I'm not even mad anymore. That was 2016 me.
I love Brando Sando, but he’s said before that he doesn’t read ASOIAF and would not be interested in finishing the series for George
@@booktubeadvocate I do recall him saying that. If it comes down to GRRM being unable to finish the series, I hope time (and money) will change Brandons mind. I hate talking about GRRM like he's gone but whats the plan, he finishes ADOS at 90? Thanks for the reply!
I think Joe Abercrombie would do a better job, his writing style seems to fit more with ASOIAF.
Wow… the predictions about when he’ll be done are depressing…
Well people aren’t math equations, but yes, at his current writing speed, he likely will need at least another 4+ years to finish Winds… unless he suddenly got on a role this year and didn’t tell anyone about it 😅
Just to tease this more,
Theodor Roosevelt was born on October 27th 👀
Oooh boy, that is a tease! I’m withholding excitement or expectation unless I see a “The Winds of Winter is completed” post on his blog. But if there truly is an announcement, and we are getting a book late October, I am cancelling all plans that week and reading that book!
@@booktubeadvocate
Oh I am 100 positive we are getting the announcement in Glasgow, WorldCon 24.
Plus there is this whole Cake theory and also he has put his assistants on a hold (which definitely means he is upto something big)
And I know its Winds because the tease/hints till now, have been very much direct with “words of wisdom” it definitely won’t be a colouring book or new illustration book or Blood and Fire or Dunk and Egg.
And lastly the recent meet up with his publisher sells the whole hype for me!
Winds of Winter this year end! For sure
What if a single novella on Dunk and Egg appears? 🤡
I hope he announces it. I feel like the longer he procrastinates, the higher the pressure is so having a release date and just stop writing more for Winds of Winter would probably feel like such a relief
True. Although at this point, fans have already waited 13 years by this point for Winds. Even if the book were to be released today and he would be relieved, I’m not sure Winds would ever be able to live up to the 13 years of hype
@@booktubeadvocate I think he is long past the point of satisfying hype and rightfully so. Its like with the manga One Piece. 25+ years of building and there will 100% be people mad at the payoff. That is the crux of long stories
Half-life 3 confirmed.
Its coming, its COMING
I think its safe to say that 2025-2027 will be the time when it´s released.
Subbed
You’re too kind!
It is coming.
Announcement: Autumn 2024
Release: Winter 2024.
What happened to your old account bro?😮
I explain it another video but it got deleted due to some email mishap. Google, being of zero help, couldn’t help me recover the channel despite me explaining everything to them in detail
let's do copium together and say the unthinkable, that he had already finished not only WOW but ADOS also and he's going to annunce it in WorldCon this year...come, the Prozac is on me, I have a coupon
Maybe he really likes cake
That is the most realistic answer I’ve heard yet
winds of winter will be announced this year with no doubt.
Don't do this to me
My Prediction is Before 2030.
did the last channel get deleted for giving people false hope aswell? haha
I don’t know, but looks like George is after me 😅
what if it's to announce another cook book?
I would applaud George for his masterful trolling! I don’t think everyone else at WorldCon will be pleased though 😅
@@booktubeadvocate is there going to be an announced at worldcon?
@@davideakin6974 nothing is confirmed. People are just speculating George might say something about Winds at WorldCon given this is the first time he’s going to WorldCon since claiming he hoped to have the book finished by WorldCon 2020 haha
What cookbook?
Tune in to World Con
Yeah, I’ve heard he’s going back to World Con this year on August 8th, when previously he mentioned he would not go to World Con unless Winds is completed. Then again, the World Con he missed was back in 2020 during Covid, and he still had not finished Winds by then.
I’m of the opinion, George will likely announce something soon, but I’m too skeptical to think it’ll be Winds. We’ll see!
I just don’t think he would show his face at world con without the announcement.
That along with all this other small things, blog, cake, timing with end of Hot D has me on the edge of my seat.
@@larryadams6202if he doesn't announce it we should get started on that lake of acid
GRRM , Master chain yanker, nope. Not anymore, if it happens womderful but im out.about talking or thinking about it and im cutting this video short see ya
I dont think it will get released
How can he be so irresponsible and lazy!!? 22 years to write a freaking book??! it’s not Quantum Physics!!
42 days...
That does seem to be the countdown we’re going for. Regardless of Winds or no Winds, August will be a big month 👀
🇹🇭🤪
Um no
NO
No
No.
LONG ANSWER: NO
Truthfully, that’s the most realistic answer
