Buying a paddle kayak instead of a pedal kayak. Fixed that!

You are hilarious telling stories dude, made me laugh my ass off. My only time screwing up in a kayak was the first time I went out. Found a good spot, raised my seat up all the way and leaned all the way to one side to try to grab something. Flipped over from being a dumbass and lost my rod and reel. Nowadays I use rod floats, although I've never Flipped in a kayak since. I have tie downs on everything so I'm prepared.
Hahahaha thanks! I’ve made some adjustments to my setup to minimize a reccurence of this…but mostly I just don’t put my rod DIRECTLY in the path of my paddle lol
I’ve had a few experiences like that too…luckily these NuCanoe’s are pretty forgiving in that regard
Lost a rod and reel, snorkel and goggles($$$), spear gun and reel, spear and backup spear, and one flipper. Launched from the beach, muscled past the break only to catch the wake from a mondo seaweed barge. I'm a freshwater yak man nowadays
Man that sucks!
Just lost a G.Loomis IMX PRO bladed jig rod and Shimano Curado DC 150 reel when I hit a submerged log while standing with my trolling motorguide motor at 3 steps. I fish like this all the time without issues. I fell in the water which was funny at the time but about 5 minutes later when I reached for my Chatterbait rig I stopped laughing. $900CAD in the drink.
Sweet hell that sucks
I flipped my kayak last year on Holston Reservoir in 30ft of water by pushing off a tree in the middle of the cove instead of just backpedaling with the pedals. Dumbass move. Tree had some flex and gave. Over I went. Lost 3 rods, my glasses and my battery box ripped off my sonar unit and sank to the bottom. That was a shitty day.

I have broken 3 different rod tips with one cast 😂 🤦♂️
