DON'T Be THIS GUY On The Water...Most RIDICULOUS Tournament Day of My Life -- (A Comeback Story)

- Today we are fishing a kayak tournament on a lake that can be a pretty tough fishery! This ended up being one of the most wild fishing experiences i have had on the water, Idk how I was able to keep myself together and manage to put some good fish in the boat. This video has everything from bass boat altercations, sinking kayaks, big fish and more! Follow along to see all of the action and how we eventually end up! Thanks so much for watching and we will see you on the next one!
Never thought you’d stoop so low with Complaints; get over it & move on…
Was that you in the boat? 🤔
Jerry maybe you should get over it and move on. That was definitely not cool at all. Have you ever heard of courtesy. I think if that happened to you. You might not have appreciated it either.
I bet it was Jerry's a loser
Nothing wrong with sharing your experience. But sometimes people don't get the common courtesy of fishing or hunting but because cole gently mention it in passing I understand and don't want to be that person who may know but doesn't care! Coles an amazing young man
bruh
He should have used his trolling motor to go by, but this is one of the least offensive experiences I've witnessed on the water. It's public water, and he was out there to catch fish too. It's really not his concern whether or not you're in a tournament.
You’re not even supposed to get that close to to other watercraft, this is all basic boat licensing stuff mixed with common sense and common decency.
@@recreant359 What are you talking about? It's a creek. You're gonna pass that close. There's no way to avoid it.
The boater didn't talk rude at all. It is a narrow creek, so passing close is a given. I don't think it was that offensive. But then on the other hand, the main focus of the video was not to bad moth the boater either. Both parties moved on...
He offered to.
@@recreant359please show where there’s ANY USCG laws regarding how CLOSE you are allowed to get to another vessel. With what you’re saying, marinas, small streams, and boat ramps are all illegal.
That guy was pretty polite if you ask me.
I was on fish in a weed bed 10’ from shore during one tournament. A competitor boat saw us and actually cut us off by going between us and the shore, 5’ from us. He had to drive through the weed bed to keep from bottoming out. Obviously, he caught nothing, nor did we after that stunt. People seem to lose their minds when they see someone else catch a fish. I found it easier to cease fishing tournaments rather than deal with the frustrations. You handled it better than I did. You are a gentleman in a sport where there is a shortage of gentlemen.
Harbor freight sells a $20 “plastic welder” that is basically just a giant soldering iron with different head attachments for shaping the melted plastic. I used it to repair some plastic equipment cases for a friend. I just found an inconspicuous place on the edges of the cases to shave off “donor” plastic to repair, cracks and holes. Anyways, I would definitely try something like that before replacing a $4400 kayak. The iron softens the plastic around the crack, to fuse it together, but adding shavings of the very same plastic to it helps. It’s important that you 1) use the same type of plastic and 2) prep all surfaces with rubbing alcohol and use gloves so that you don’t introduce oil’s that would prevent adhesion or fusion. You might also want to keep a cheap little fountain pump handy that you could hook up to the battery and use like a bilge pump in an emergency.
I have a bag of plastic shaving from when I drilled two holes for my transducer wiring. I hope I never need it but I figure it couldn’t hurt. I also made a keel guard for where his leak is. Seems to be a very vulneralble spot
Your a awesome person like wish i had friends like you ,
Really liked this video!! Yeah, your right, don't be that guy on the water!!! Ive had that happen to me alot and it really really agitates me. But you handled it well. Bravo .
That was one of your most exciting tournament I've seen you in you got me so excited how it was going to turn out but your the MAN you ever quit. Love your videos, Joey.
Way to keep fishing 🎣!! 👏👏👏
I appreciate you showing the real story. We all go through these kind of days but you stayed come and collected through it all.
He may have not seen you. The boater has the right to enter with you catching or not. In any tournament setting you have to think that may happen. There are "X" factors to fishing tournaments. Don't complain and keep fishing. Either way keep making great videos. The fishing pressure across the country is getting worse. We have to find ways to combat those struggles.
Yup everyone kayaks no more electronics . Let the fish recoup
Ironically, youtube and social media "influencers" are contributing to the increased crowding.
Bad days make better days, keep on fishing.
I admire how Cole handled that. Can’t say I would have been able to do the same. As the old saying goes. Never Give Up
I would of started fighting the boat guy lol😂
Handled what? Some pretty lame whining on his part. Does he own that water?
You wouldnt do sht bud. Youd be all passive aggressive like the loser who runs this channel
@@dehuizhang188Not everyone is a hardcore fisherman and I doubt the guy on the boat was being malicious. 100% understandable to be frustrated but to fight a guy when he really didn’t do anything wrong is really immature. Cole handled it great I mean I’d probably get frustrated to but you gotta just let them pass and move on with the day.
Great job Cole, you hung in there throughout. God bless you guys
Great job dealing with all of the adversity Cole! I probably would’ve packed it in after the leak issue. Way to persevere!
Don’t give up on the yak because of that leak. I’ve patched several kayaks, to include my Old Towne Sportsman. Don’t mess with the liquid welds or soft patches. Other than maybe on the water emergency repairs. Get a plastic weld kit and fix it once and for all. I got my kit from Eco Fishing Shop, but I’m sure you can find elsewhere as well. Comes with everything you need including soldering iron with appropriate spade type tips, the plastic strips to weld cracks and add plastic material back in and mesh to add in for larger holes. Also works to add plastic back over thin spots where it may have been dragged one too many times along the keel. Especially if you don’t have a replaceable keel protector.
Keep up the good work and look forward to seeing more of those tournaments!
Cole; depending on if your boat is plastic or if it’s not, you can take a torch and get a piece of steel red hot and lay it on that cracked area and melt that plastic back together. Basically just get that plastic super tacky and kinda smooth it out with that hot steel. Don’t actually put the torch to the boat though. Hope that helps.
use a heat gun and actually the plastic from a home depot but works well as filler. there are a few vids on it.
Thats just fishing.....OMG! yall kayak guys are something else........
Aren’t they , they’re a special breed from my experience. Dole was just being a cry baby
just curious what cole expected the bass bait gut to do to make coke happy ?
I’ve own a couple of these just to use on small body’s of water that my bass boat wound go !
And why would he just quit fishing when the boat go , these fish usual,y don’t give a damn
about a boat passing a area unless your digging up the bottom of the damn lake !
He was just being VERY PETTY !
Wow! What a day lol. Good recovery!! Love this channel!!
Guy in the boat is actually the hero of this video 😂
It was good to see all the things that can happen while tournament fishing. I hope you never forget to be better prepared with hydration next time!!! Heat stroke is so serious and not worth it! I enjoyed watching and those fish were pretty nice.
That's the beauty of public water.... its open to everyone
“It’s not a destination, it’s what you learned along the way.” You’re a trooper cole 💪🏼
The drama is real 😂😂😂
great job battling thru
Man those days come along every now and then. I love real life, well played..great video!!!
❤keep up the good work my love support and blessings always 🎉
Way to go Cole. It takes a bigger guy to just walk away. Your case , paddle. But you did the right thing and was blessed with a heckuva stringer of fish.
Well done. Makes my day to watch great fishing videos. Fisherman are a unique creature. Fish On
Wow that guy! You kept your cool very well.
I grew up fishing Spadra Creek on Lake Dardenelle. Caught my first six pounder there, as well as my first eight pound bass. Lots of fond memories from nearly 50 years ago! Always fun fishing with you, Jay!
I've been a subscriber for quite some time and can't recall if I've commented before. I always enjoy just watching. But I have to say that I really admired the way that you handled your situations in this video. Keep them coming and I'll always be watching. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for the support! Everyone that knows me can tell you I’m about as non-confrontational as it gets haha, but this was definitely a very frustrating situation. I was very happy to find that the fish ended up staying put and I was able to fill my limit out in that spot! Take it easy!
Nice fishing Cole.
Oh Cole…..😢 I really feel like if you hadn’t lost the time to boat repairs, driving around the lake, and your kindly bass boat buddy, you could have won that one! Your fishing was impeccable! Good job anyway.
Good job keepin your wits about ya 👍
That was a lot of fun. Thanks for taking us along
You are such a great guy Cole.
Enjoyed this one a lot! 4th place after the day you had? Proud of ya, Son.
Hey when the vibe is gone it’s gone. Good on ya for trusting your gut and leaving that first spot. Turned out that Dbag did ya a favor. Your boat is still good just fix the hole properly and you’re golden.
Great turnaround Cole.
Cole there is a product called seal all. It is a great product. It dries clear and super tough you can drill it . I used it on an aluminum boat and it held for the year that I had the boat. You might consider it. Works on steel aluminum plastic glass etc. Hope it helps. Love and Respect.
He could also try some flex seal!
I graduated in Old Town, ME. Every boat they make has an index card with all its info and goes into a giant record room. Best of the best. Hard working and prideful. Heart of the town. Patriots.
Awesome!!! I love my kayak and can’t really picture myself in anything else!
That's unbelievable with that boater. I always carry a big car wash sponge in my front hatch. Looked like one of those days, but you showed great perseverance and attitude. Thanks for sharing.
If I have to go around you because you have a creek blocked off, and I do so as courteously as this guy did, and you hit me with a damn sponge, you better bring some Gorilla tape and fiberglass repair kit. You’ll hit the wrong mf with that sponge some day, and wish you hadn’t.
The character you showed under pressure was admirable. You maintained your cool and pulled out a great limit. My guess is the guy in the bass boat caught little or nothing. Keep on doing what you do. God bless!
Educated guess?? You must have saw something no one else did in this video.
That’s what you get when fishing public water. It’s aggravating but just because your fishing that creek doesn’t mean it’s closed to everyone else.
Nice come back man. Love the video!
Unbelievable! Way to grind! Most would give up.
Cole, maybe it's time to invest in a bilge pump. They're not that expensive. And are great for situations like this. I have an 18 foot fishing boat and I always make sure my bilge pump is working before I go out. Don't need to half way submerge my boat because I took on too much water. Yeah, it wasn't very "sportsman" of him to move in there on you like that, but it is public water, so you have to deal with it. I've experienced this from both sides as a tournament fisherman and as a civilian just fishing when tournament boats invaded the space I was fishing. You handled it well. Great video.
Great catching!!! Excellent keeping your cool too. A thought about your emergency re-patch job... and this comes from having been thru the US Navy's Damage Control Training School, Pearl Harbor, HI several times... I believe patching on the OUTSIDE of your hull, where the water pressure is attempting to push upwards and inwards INTO your hull, would result in a more firmly set patch. Just saying... I in fact effected a temporary emergency repair to a rubber canoe, decades ago, with an ordinary piece of bubble gum, which permitted completion of our journey that day.
,
Good that you kept your head down and not give up, congratulations
Dude that was super fun to watch!
Better coverage than ""BASS-PRO ELITE" Good video, nice fish'n, kayak challenges, Good Finish! We should all have a day like this! 👍🎣❤️😝🎣🇺🇲
Great job!
You did the smart thing. People are crazy now with road rage and hate videos everywhere. You did right just keep cool keep fishing and move one. Good job.
Hey, I think we've all had days like this. You did a better job keepin your cool than I would've! Strong work and nice castin!
"We don't need no shoes. We just need four more bass." Love it! Nice content! Glad I stumbled upon your channel. I will be watching more!
Flex tape Cole!!! $15 for a roll and it works!! Don’t get me wrong the water proof JB weld is great stuff but after you put it on go over it with a piece of Flex tape!! It works for me and my Jon boat!! 😊
You did a great job ❤
You have a great attitude and spirit about you. Great job!
Love that last area you were in, I’ve done a couple videos with the same exact background. Way to hang in there Brother!!
Well done!
Positive guy and good for you for handling that really well. My short tempered self would have not been nice.
Kayakers crying about a bass boat guy is like a shore angler crying about a kayaker LOL
Good job, way to grind it out.
Glad you kept your cool 😎
Cole, kayaks are made from a heat formed plastic which means a home depot bucket it the right type of plastic and the right color to MELT your kayak back together. Use a hot iron bar and a small propane torch and your in business. Good luck.
I love this channel great job guys
There’s a guy name Stevie night that is a reaction channel and he lost his son a couple months ago. I wish you guys would give him a shout out. It’s a very sad story.
You handled it like a Pro
Cole the Conqueror! What a crazy day. Love boaters, they can literally motor to any place on the lake, but want to pull up on us.
The patch looked big on screen, but look into plastic welding. Also they sale plastic keel guards, that you might be able to use for that hole on the outside for an additional layer.
That was a tough day indeed. Weather was perfect at least! 😁😛🎣
Sounds like my fishing luck. God bless
I'm glad you enjoy tournament fishing. Not something that I was ever interested in doing. I always fish to eat, and I never have time to do that even. But I love to watch you having a decent time fishing. Better luck at the next tourney.
Way to show your Class and do the right thing. Good example to others how to fight through adversity.
Keep pounding! Cole good 👍 job. Rude bass boaters.
Amazing success my friend
I'm proud of you dude. You did good 👍
Just like driving on the road; you have your reason for being on the road today and so does the other guy. You have your opinion of how the other guy is messing up your day and he has his opinion about you! Your still on the water fishin!!
You did great. You caught alot if fish. Still a great time.
Thank you for your posts. Hey, Y'all planning on doing a big ole feature on the huge draw down of Lake Conway? Could be cool to see the effects over the long haul. Thanks again.
Cant tell you how many times I've had days like yours. Glad to see you power through it. I really don't think I would have allowed that guy to go by me without giving him an earful. Total disrespect and unsportsmanlike.
😂😂😂😂
Not a smart thing to do lol Your out in the middle of nowhere, big boat little kayak , guess who wins .
I have both a Bluesky 360 pro , SW125 and a nitro bass boat , what he did was go buy slow in a public waterway . Nothing wrong with that in a small area , you don't own the water .
There have been so many times that people in boats, jet skis, kayaks and even paddle boards have disturbed my fishing when I was in places in my kayak that a boat or jet ski would have to really work at getting into. Being courteous to another fisherman on the water should just be a standard behavior. I have even had boats that seemed like they were attempting to swamp my kayak with their wakes. Come on people, be better than that. This isn't complaining, it is observing how some people can behave poorly. Cole, even though you had some adversity, you worked through it like a champ. You may not have won the tournament, you are winning in life!!! Go home, enjoy your family and get ready to leave some fish with sore lips on the next time out!!
You showed the most professionalism
Im so glad you stayed calm with those rude guy's in the bass boat, a friend of mine who was a guild on Wiess lake in Centre Al.ask some pleasure boaters to quit circling his boat and clients while he was on a guilde d trip, they laughed at him and made another, well Sam Heaton run them down , jumped into their boat, beat them with a boat paddle and is still on the crappie fishing channels on Outdoor Channel and Pursuit Channel.. He's a good man, just doesn't take lip from smart mouths!!!
Cool video!, This is an excellent demonstration on why you repair kayak hulls with plastic welding not "JB Weld" but it was an entertaining video thanks for sharing
What a day lol but you did good !
That boat set the mood for the day.. of course anything bad that can happen.. will.. nice fishin though
Good job Cole
Dude subbed because of the perseverance of that day 😂
After such a trying day, I think I’d be questioning ever tournament fishing again. Classic example proving that if something can go wrong, it will. But you still got your limit! Good job! (Two videos from now and we see the new kayak?)
Get the kayak fixed. We don't have to worry about it the next time. Don't be a hillbilly gave me weld that don't work for everything. You know you could probably get that flex seal. Probably help and stay in place
Flex Seal FTW lol You def handled that guy much better than I would have.
Good job of keeping your cool. Some people....
Cole, just a suggestion...get flex tape or the spray. Believe me it works. Or keep 2 kits of the patch you used. As you said, check your kayak the afternoon before and get it all ready for whatever. It's great to watch your videos.
13:25 - I had a 2" gash in the bottom of my Pelican Bass Raider last season, and I was able to fix it with West System 655-8 G/flex Epoxy Adhesive. It's a phenomenal product that I think would work better than JB Weld.
i liked the video when you broke the sandal lol keep catching them
I'd patch it from the outside, with some fiber glass cloth and resin that way the patch would never fail, cheaper than a new yak, and with two under 3 years old you might feel a little bit of a pinch, now and again.
Yup. Always patch from outside
Yes . Gator patch . Fiberglass reinforced resin patch . They are amazing . I patched a lightbulb sized hole in my yak . They make keel gaurd patches too to protect the keel from getting holes .
Cool recovery
Tough day but love the way you handle it bro. Keep at it mext time hopefully youll get thag kicker fish and win but you still had a a soilid finish especially after morning you had lol. 👊🏻
One of those days. We all have ‘em!
Over all you pull it out even when most people would have called it the day💯💯💯💯👍🏾
Was so hoping you'd get a 22 or 23 insher. The way your day started... you did great. Take care ❤
Well don Cole nice fishing bro.
Love the channel very machs.
Greeting from Belgium and my Georges.
I have a spot like you found going in to that narrow creek. With a log across the channel under water. Most people just stay on their big motor and go right over it headed back to the bigger water on the other side. I always stop their and land about 4-5 fish on my way in there. 💪🏻😂
Just wanted to say I Am so proud of you. Just like the old saying when life gives you lemons make lemonade. Thats exactly what you did.
Thanks Meemaw!!!
