It, (BigFoot) [also] in this footage, has no problem walking away as it takes a quick look back at it's (potential/possible) prey/predators.
He or she (BigFoot) does not feel threatened by the people/persons filming itself.
It knows the humans cause no potential threat to it. It (Bigfoot) does not run or even pick up it's pace like most "animals" would (like deers, cats, birds, etc...) due to the state of mind in which it seems to be in (confident/not too concerned).
Keep in mind, BigFoot supposedly kidnaps people and eats (cooks) them. [Do your research).
There are these "missing people's" cases (covered by David P.) that occur in these "National Parks and Forests where people simply vanish and are never found.
This creature (BigFoot) could be the reason for these "missing people's cases".

Real or not, this film really has a charm that's lasted the test of time and there's no denying how iconic it's become. Iconic both for Bigfoot, and for cryptids as a whole. Bigfoot probably wouldn't be as popular of a character as it is today if it weren't for this.

People who speak so self-assuredly as to use phrases like, “obviously fake,” are not very nuanced in their thinking. A more objective answer would be to say, ‘I don’t know.’ When someone says it this subject is “obviously fake,” or something of that nature, they are making an objective truth claim, thus, the onus is on them to support that claim with - not just evidence - but objective proof. When one asks them for that, they will give some farce of an answer that doesn’t even remotely support their claim and or they will call into question the intelligence of dissenters.

This creature is walking away from a potential threat in a very convincing, yet not fearful way as I would expect such a large animal to do. In other such films, the so called "Bigfoot" just ambles around in circles to make sure it can be seen, makes very limited movements or is so far away that no clear identification can be made. Thought provoking for sure.

I believe I’ve seen this video like dozens of times growing up and never realized that. The fact that this was a female just changes a lot for me. I’m far from an experienced outdoorsman or anything, but I have had encounters with wild animals including a brown bear that I remember vividly. People laugh at the idea that this Bigfoot just walked away, but that’s exactly how this female bear reacted to me. She was about 100 yards away and her Cubs were playing a little bit to her left (I didn’t even see them at first because I was so scared of the mom). Upon seeing me she stared at me with a “WTF face” then slowly walked towards her kids, stopping to look back at me twice to determine if I was walking towards her or presenting a threat to her and her Cubs.

But then I saw the footage again and just tried to recreate the motion of walking. I simply couldn't. The unusual bend at the knee when it lifts it's legs is quite weird. It seems to be such an inefficient way to walk. We have high quality costumes available now. Just want to lay out the details that have been found about this film since it was taken. The gait that can be observed is incredibly difficult if not impossible for humans to replicate in a controlled environment, let alone in a cobbled creek while wearing an ape suit. The supposed suit itself has never been found, though its alleged maker and wearer have attempted to admit their involvement publicly. Notably, the two men’s description of the suit differs in fairly significant ways. It should also be noted that the technology to replicate the muscular movement that can be seen in the film in a practical costume would not exist until years later, and attempts to remake the film with a costume have been unsuccessful. The shape and form of the animal itself is consistent with an understanding of pre-human hominid morphology that did not exist as of its filming, meaning the designer of the alleged suit was either really lucky or a time traveller. This film has not managed to be credibly debunked for 55 years, even after so many hoaxes have came about and been debunked in that period. It has weathered scientific and forensic advances and came out looking more probable than it did before. If it is a hoax, and i have yet to come across a convincing argument to that point, it is the greatest hoax of all time. Those who have spoken to Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin have described them as, to put it bluntly, too stupid to execute a hoax this good. I don’t know if i believe in bigfoot, but i definitely believe in this video.

You're joking, right? There have been thousands of attempts to find Bigfoot, from very simple hunting expeditions to expensive hi-tech operations. All have failed. Finding Bigfoot should be the easiest thing in the world, A seven-foot, 500lb mammal would have to eat an enormous amount of food. Just go to a place where there have been sightings, put out meat, fruit and vegetables and it will come to eat. Every creature, including us, establishes feeding patterns to get food as easily as possible. For Bigfoot, which apparently has no weapons, traps or other means of catching game and does not cultivate food plants, free food for the taking would be irresistible. I wish people would think logically about this. It must eat, it must sleep, it must breed, it must get old and weak and die. At all these times it would be easy to find. We haven't found it because it's not there.

When an image has digital effects used it changes the image. Video stabilization is something that I understand the concept. Basically what happens is the image is cropped and a set point stays within the frame at the same point. This puts all of the motion by the camera outside of the frame of reference. Works fine when the subject is somewhere in the middle of the frames, but not so well when the subject is near the edge of the film in this case. The image would go in and out of the stabilized image or only part of the subject would show part of the time. My question here is that there is a digital circle around the Bigfoot that follows the movement. This almost looks like what Star Wars tried to do with the sandspeeders to hide the fact that it was actually on wheels. The smeared vaseline to fuzz out the image. You can see a similar circle surrounding the Tie Fighters as they approach the Millenium Falcon. My question is what is causing the ditial artifact circle around the subject. It is a new technology being applied to an old medium, but not sure what would cause it. Is it because the subject is the most movement in the frame and the computer had trouble stablizing that so the subject was stabilized separately and than transposed over the entire frame where the subject should have been?

That they will very likely go extinct without human intervention? So thank you for making my point. Many Sasquatch enthusiasts will say the population of Sasquatch is just a few thousand in North America, and that's why they are so "rare". Yet you want to claim there are as many as fifty thousand Sasquatch...okay, so where are they then? Where are the bodies? Where are the fossils? What do Sasquatch eat if there are so many resources? We have an EXCELLENT fossil record dating back millions of years to document human evolution, and the divergent split of humans from other great apes, and yet no Sasquatch? How come? How come Roger Patterson finds one the first week he goes looking that looks exactly like the sketches in his diary??? Blurry videos are not proof.Minimum viable population is basic high school biology, and it's inexcusable that so called "Bigfoot researchers" who think they are contributing to science don't know about such things.

    • @plaguethefallen
      @plaguethefallen 5 років тому +1

Jake Larson Jake Larson Jake Larson Jake Larson you do realize that I was just using it as a comparison? You do realize that the only “human intervention” is preventing poacher from wiping them out? It’s not like humans NEED to be there, if it wasn’t for poachers human intervention would not be needed. As for the 50,000, I said that number because there COULD be as many as that and still go easily undetected. The smaller the number, the easier it is for them to be undetected.
Also, you obviously know NOTHING about the wilderness and have never been in it. The only people who ask “where are the bodies” are people who lack understanding of the Wilderness. Also, you do realize WE STILL DISCOVER new fossils of apes? Also, lack of fossil evidence means NOTHING. Look at Gigantopithecus, which is said to have been 10 or more feet tall. They literally have like 1 jaw bone and a bunch of teeth.
Where’s the body? You seriously can’t be that ignorant of the wilderness. Let me paint a picture for you. There’s 20,000+ black bears in the state of PA, the state I’m from. I have NEVER came across a body or even a skeleton. My dad, who’s hunted for 40+years has only seen a dozen or so live ones and never any dead ones. Nature takes care of things VERY quickly. Youre also ignoring the fact that a number of primates eat and/or bury their dead. Literally all of your questions can be answered if you just know how the wilderness is and do research on primates.
What do Sasquatch eat if there’s so many resources? Again, you seriously can’t be this ignorant about the wildness. There’s deer, Berry’s, works, fish. There’s A LOT of that stuff out there, more then enough to sustain a population.
And as for your minimum viable population, a few thousand is definitely a viable population. And you act like there’s have to be thousands in one area. Just look at chimps. A Troop can be anywhere from 15-150 members. So there really doesn’t have to be that many. This is stuff you would know if you knew what you were talking about and did proper research to get a better understanding.
As for Patterson, I’ll leave you with this. If you want to believe a broke guy was able to get his hands on a suit that was ahead of its time and knew someone who was around 7 feet tall with anatomically incorrect proportions to a human (it’s been proven the being in the video is around 7feet tall and it’s been proven the proportions aren’t correct and something that can’t be faked.) then okay. And if you also want to believe that he made/had the suit made with the mindset that in the future people would be able to make the video stabile and clear so the thought “better put on breasts that bounce, on and better put nipples on the breasts, oh and better add a Hernia that somehow moves with the muscles right there, oh and better make it so the suit can imitate a thigh jiggle and flexing muscles.” Then okay. But come on, that sounds even more far fetched and stupid then saying “hey, maybe this is actually something.” After all, if it was a suit, wouldn’t making the video make it more clear, stabile and zoom make it appear more fake instead f adding credibility that it couldn’t be a suit?

@@joelaw5207 I'll admit I'm more than a little more skeptical after viewing that, but I don't think it's the slam dunk against the Patterson footage you think it is. The one argument against Bob H.'s claims that I've yet to see anyone rebut is that the alleged sasquatch in the Patterson film is about a foot taller than Bob. And when they show him walking in the suit in that Discovery Channel clip at the end, it looks nothing like the thing in the 1967 clip. The most interesting takeaway I got from that is that the old style football shoulder pads could be used to simulate muscle movement. That's clever, but it doesn't account for the leg muscles that people claim they see in the footage.

Discovery@@valjean3663 You say a foot taller than Bob, but from the distance filmed there's no way of accurately measuring scale/ size. Its bob in the suit. As for the Discovery clip at the end, that was just a simple mock-up.

Digital Visual Effects specialist Dave Mc Donald processed the latest 3D Lidar scanning technology by Pete Kelsey (2022) on the actual area where the big foot was recorded and using existing markers from the original film and cross referencing with the scan gave a very high degree of accuracy height of the female bigfoot of 1.9m tall or 6' 3" tall. Not as tall as we would all have originally thought however this is a female bigfoot in the film which "might" put a male bigfoot at 2.28m or 7' 6" tall.

See the video I linked in the pinned comment at the top of the comment section. It will provide you with higher quality, zoomed in shots that clearly depict breasts.

The thing that you cannot fake is, back in 1967 Patterson and Gimlin were two broke cowboys. They were the least technology type guys around. So if this was fake that many seem to think it is, How would they have the wherewithal to create a suit that was so real that that most of its details were not known until technological advances came along 50 years later with digital photography? If it was a fake suit, they wouldn’t care about added the mammary glands, the muscle definition, the mange or patches of missing hair, the crest on top of the head, etc. if they were out to fake everything, they wouldn’t care about these close up details that no one would see in their lifetime. They would have created a monkey suit with a zipper in the back. A fake just doesn’t add up.

These days many furries hand-make their own costumes with extreme detail, precision, research, energy, talent and time. Back then, anyone who would've been a furry would've been completely isolated and would've made their own costume in total secret. And they would've wanted good details, just like nowaday-furries want.

In 1967 Patterson was trying to make a film about Bigfoot being chased by cowboys. Guess what this is? As for the suit, no-one has suggested until you just did that Patterson and Gimlin made the suit. There are numerous Hollywood costumiers and renting a suit from one of them wouldn't have been that expensive- especially if it was a battered old thing like the one you just described.

@@landl47 in 1967, P&G had an interest in the sasquatch legends that the native americans spoke of through their history. they had plans to find one & film it knowing there was an opportunity to make money if they could find evidence for its existence, so....they travelled to an isolated area where sightings, footprints & activity had been spoken of by local & indigenous people. they travelled on horseback, knew the terrain, were lifelong mountain men & real cowboys & they took this footage. If bigfoot existed, who would be more likely to chance upon one than these two men?

@@dyschromotopia They went to the place where Bigfoot footprints (in fact, the footprints which led to the name 'Bigfoot') were found. These footprints were, many years later, revealed to be fake. So there just happened to be a real Bigfoot in the same place as the fake footprints? Patterson was strapped for cash- he had to rent the camera. Lucky he didn't have to wait for weeks or months to get a good shot as most wildlife photographers do, wasn't it? Then he filmed a female with a sagittal crest. Do you know in how many primate species the females have sagittal crests? None. And here we are 53 years later, with ATVs, drones, HD cameras and thousands of people out looking and we still haven't got a better film of a Bigfoot than this. I'm sorry, but the backstory just doesn't add up.

Or you could just watch a Marx Brothers film and Groucho will do it for you. It's called a 'compliant gait', it's surprisingly easy to replicate and it allows you to walk fast and with a much longer stride than normal. The reason it's not our usual way of walking is that it is incredibly tiring. Even a modified version like Patty's, much less extreme than Groucho's, would be difficult to keep up for more than a minute or so, which is why the film is only a minute long.
