It does rain on certain days & gets a bit chilly too, and that is in the Kowloon city area. I would guess from my hiking experience, the mountainous / hilly area in Hong Kong will also have these colder environment than the built-up areas of a city scape.
The most important thing is don't overestimate your strength and endurance..... Also I strongly recommend those being rescued need to pay for a significant portion of the cost spent on searching them unless the rescue crew waive it. This will promote "responsible hiking" practice
why get hurt mentally when you can get hurt physically

Those trails are dangerous. You could lose one of your limbs without noticing them right away.
