Hey Dirty! I just wanna say thank you SO much for everything you do. I just found out that I passed STEP and I'm pretty sure I owe most of my success to your channel. You explain things so beautifully and I love how simple you make everything. May you live forever and continue to put out this amazing content for future medical students.
Iam an arabic nurse and really thank you for this wonderful video...Its very helpful.Your tone and how to explain everything in simple and clear words just somthing special.
@@darshanvidhate7061you need to take and pass the Saudi prometric exam after that you can apply through agency that hires nurses. I worked in saudi before and I worked alongside with a lot of indian nurses.
This has got to be the best video I have watched thus far, explaining the mechanisms of action of diabetes drugs, including ways to remember and understand why they cause the adverse reactions they cause. Great video!! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Your videos always turn hours of work into something anyone can learn within minutes thank you so much for all your contributions. I can recall so much thanks to your videos. I hope I as well can contribute to you too(financially).
you are the first one who explained it in simpler terms. I could never understand the oral diabetic agents plus it has a long list of medications. But your video helped me to be able to understand them. Thank you so much. Appreciate!
PHENOMENAL VIDEO!! I'm currently an FNP student and I've had such a hard time grasping diabetes medications. Thank you so much for sharing your understanding. The way you broke down each drug class and the pneumonics were super helpful. God bless you!
I understand the mechanisms but I always had a hard time getting the names right. The mnemonics are so out-of-the-box it's now easier to remember. Thank you 💙
For Sulfonylureas, you can memorize it has “G (Gee), IDE take your sulfonylurea. The G is because all sulfonylureas start with G. This helps to separate the sulfonylureas from the meglitinides since they also end with IDE
Sir!!!! I can't thankyou enough!! I'm literally at loss of words to appreciate you better...The way you make this dangerous topic sound like nothing is truly amazing...Hats off to you!
Remebering Insulins by time of action is quite easy. But confusion can arise between Glulisine and Glargine. This confusion is cleared by: gluLIsine Little Short acting (Also use the LI to remember LIspro) gLARGEne LARGEine Long acting And also I remember Detemir by remembering Boromir of LoTR who was a tall large person, especially compared to all the hobbits.
Studying for USMLE step 1 and this is amazing! I needed something that gives me the big picture but still give the pertinent information that we will be asked about in the exam. I appreciate you!
Thank you so much for this video! I just took my NP boards today and had a ton of DM2 questions related to mechanism of action on these meds. This video was a lifesaver!!! I passed my board exams. Thank you so much for the great mnemonics. ☺️❤️
Thanks a lot Dirty Medicine! I have a lot of experience with this type of illness. I've tried numerous therapies and diets, all to no avail. Until a colleague suggested gluconize and that was the end of it. Today, I live a healthy lifestyle, which I recommend to everyone.
Hey Mate! I just want to say thank you for this beautiful explanation on the medicines training. I am very excited to follow your explanation of the medicines and their adverse reactions. I hope your teaching will help me and other students to complete studies with high marks. You are highly good lecturer that explain medications’ actions in an excellent technique, and I am very grateful to get this good lecturer with simple explanation. Your teaching is very brilliant, I am also pretty sure that I owed you for today lectures because I have understood somethings that I did not know. The only thing that I will reward you with, is God blessings. Therefore, God will give you longevity to continuing teaching medical students with this simple explanation.
this is fantastic! I sure wish I'd (IDE, haha) had a resource like this when I was in medical school 30 years ago - but the internet was barely coming into existence then!😆 thank you for your clear, clever, concise contribution to medical learning (there's some alliteration for you!) ❤
I cannot believe I just found you while halfway through my second year of pharmacy school... I will now be using your videos instead of going to lecture! (only mostly kidding)
Thank you for these suggestions. I have a lot of experience with this type of illness. I've tried numerous therapies and diets, all to no avail. Until a colleague suggested gluconize and that was the end of it. Today, I live a healthy lifestyle, which I recommend to everyone.
WOW so clearly and simply explained! The mnemonics are hilarious and so easy to remember. I'm studying for the US Dietitian exam and this was a major point of confusion for me - you are a lifesaver! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I dont comment a lot on youtube video but holy heck this was the most informative thing ive ever watched. Im actually confident I can answer my test tomorrow because of this HAHAHA cheers!

Greetings Dirty Medicine all the way from India! I'm glad you started this. A blessing and immediate help in times of desperation and need of Important topics. Thankyou for what you do. Was helpful in my university exams Much adoration and thankfulness Jenna:)
Adding onto the DPP-4 mnemonic! Because DDP-4 Inhibitors cause UTIs it would also be helpful to remember that UTIs can make you feel like you have to urinate frequently, so "PP4 more times" can also relate to the adverse effect!
Thank you so much for making this video it helped me a lot in understanding pharmacology of different diabetic medications please do continue such work 👍
Metformin inhibits hepatic gluconeogenesis by blocking pyruvate decarboxylase. Blocking this enzyme (1st step in converting pyruvate to oxaloactate) leads to lactic acidosis(older style biguanides). Your explanation using renal injury just explains how we get higher levels. Regardless, love your work
Thank you so much for your information cause so many people are just frightened by hearing they thank for you cause now people kno now how. too take better care of themselves it’s makes a world of difference when people understand their illness
