- Best In wall speakers...PERIOD. Theory Audio Design Review. Amazing Home Theater speakers
We think so. At least at this price level. The Theory system has opened my eyes to another way of looking at in walls....but only if made this way. High output....no fail in walls. Capable of producing cinematic volume levels while somehow giving you an audiophile music listening experience. Home theater at it's very best. This system is worth many times more than it is...althought not innexpensive to start with. Theory Audio Theaters with video installed for about $25K. But a luxury sound that many have spent 6 figures to obtain. One of our favorite products we've ever tested. come listen to the speakers at Theater Advice.

I got a chance to demo a 7.1 Theory Audio system in a local dealer’s room. Absolutely incredible. A scene with a single gunshot made me almost jump out of my seat. Best set up I’ve ever heard.
Yeah there is not much that can beat it. Not for that price for sure. And really..only Pro Audio beats it which is the same company. My Focal Utopia system can give it a run but it's many times more.
Interesting because people say the same about m&k and perlisten and other brands. Would be nice to hear them all together. At least in this case with many speakers in a room the room factor is kind of ruled out
Those are all good brands. I’m sticking with Paul Hales Theory
Great, straight-talking advice! Thanks very much for taking the time to put these videos together. Your comments have got me interested in seeing if a Theory Audio set-up is viable from a cost perspective for a 7.2.2 system. Two questions in that regard: (1) can you use third-party (active/powered) subs with all other speakers being from Theory; and if so, (2) can you run a 7.2.2 system with one ALC? I'm having trouble sorting through those basics with the info available online. I see the ALC has 9 channels (so seemingly could handle the surrounds and Atmos speakers), but in all the cases I've come across the systems always include the passive Theory subs and so are limited to a 5.2.2 set-up. I'm wondering if a 7.2.2 Theory set-up requires staying fully within the ecosystem (including Theory subs) and would then require two ALCs to cover all the channels. Any advice you might have would be appreciated. Thanks.
You absolutely can use third part powered subs off LFE of the pre. I do it all the time. You do waste thsoe sub channels though in the ALC. They are making a more powerful one soon. Come to Dallas and hear it. : )
I love my theory home Theater.
As well you should....lol. It's amazing.
Do you think their largest CC Speaker would work for a smaller video wall (Micro LED)?, or use one of their speakers to use as a Reflex Speaker (L,C,R) to bounce the audio & voices off the Video Wall, like the Meyer Speakers do? Any thoughts on this problem.
You can do their On wall below a video wall
I have a 14x25 foot DIY Theater that I built.
I have DIY Room accoutics that I put together.
- 2" linacousic around the 3 sides of the stage and corner bass traps.
- 2'x4'x2" DIY panels on the sides and rear of the room.
- Accoustically transparent 16:9 135" screen.
Current speakers are:
- 3 Polk Audio Rti A9 speakers for LCR.
- Triad Silver Surround in walls for surround and rear surround in the Columns that I built.
- 4 8" Micca in ceiling speakers
- SVS PC13 Subwoofer
Using a Denon 6200 with external Crown Amps
The screen is 2.5' from the front wall. The Center speaker is behind the screen and the other 2 are on the sides.
Questions are:
1. What would be the upgrade path to Theory Audio?
Can you do a 7.x.4? (Would you recommend that or some other configuration)
What components would be recommended for 7.x.4?
2. Since the screen is 2.5 feet from the front wall - Would you recommend In-walls or on walls and should I move the screen closer to the front wall?
3. Would I be able to order through you and have the equipment shipped?
4. Given the room accoustics I have in place - would you still use room correction such as Audyssey on the Denon or does the Theory Audio take care of this?

I am in Northern Virgina but have friends in Prosper and would love to stop by the next time I am down visiting in the area!
You can do 11ch...just have to add the 250-4 amp as well as the 4 other speakers. The system would cost about $22K I'd bet. You can do on walls on sides and on wall behind or in wall behind screen. I can absolutely ship you the system. Just contact us through our site for purchasing. It gets to me. You DO NOT need any room correction at all just their system set up which whey will even help with over the phone. I"ll have the system up and running here when you do. I only have two speakers now but still insanely impressive.
Thanks for putting out this video, I hadn't heard of this brand before. I'm a little confused by their product offerings on their website though. Would you use these for the surrounds as well? I'm assuming the sb25 is the same product but on-wall? So maybe you'd mix the two types for surrounds? If these are great for LCR, seems overkill for surrounds?
on wall and in wall the same product. Yes when you do this system it's all matched except for you can mix in other subs off LFE. They are good for eveyrthing. I have shipped these systems all over the US and people love them.
I was told you have to use Theory Audio Amps with their speakers? How would they compare to Ascendo, they are very detailed as well?
This is correct. And I think they literally embarrass all of it. I mean it. Jaw on the floor good.
I have become very interested in Theory as well as Pro Audio, and as I currently live in Southern CA I have attempted to contact the experience center to schedule a visit. They have not responded. Might this be because they are too busy due to overwhelming reaction to their CEDIA demonstration, or is the showroom limited to dealers only? I am looking to move out of state and build a dedicated theater room, and Theory and Pro Audio hold my interest at the moment, but unfortunately I will not be in the Dallas area when I move. If near Dallas in my travels, I would love to come by though.
Email me directly through my site. I'll get you a demo. And we do jobs all over the country if the job is large enough. We design and ship systems as well. You'll be more than interested when you hear it.
@@TheaterAdvice_FCAV - Awesome... email sent. Thank you!
@@TheaterAdvice_FCAV Maybe you could promote an in wall speaker the other 95% of the people that see your video can afford.
@@barrypayne3976 Well...I promote all sorts of things and design systems for literally every budget. So maybe before jumping to conclusions do some research. Watch my other videos I talk about $10K theaters, options etc. This video is about maybe the best in walls out there. It's the point of the video. If I did a video of how badass a Ferrari is it doesn't mean I don't also think a Toyota 4 Runner is awesome.
Hi, thanks for the great video. Can you kindly tell:
1. Your room size width, length, height?
2. Are you using either the 3rd or 4th channel of the DLC 250.4 controller in bridged mode to drive the Sub12, meaning it get's 250w?
3. If it was a single Sub15 instead of Sub12, will that same 250w be suitable enough in your room?
4. Lastly, why you opted for the 12" instead of the 15" as the price difference is really marginal?
Thank you.. Love the channel and keep up the good work!
im only using the 1809 here. 5.1.2 off of that one amp. this room is 17x17 at my showroom. I have the single 15 now..it's better but slightly underpowered...they are addressing it soon. I'll probably do another video
I just saw that Revel released its Be in-wall series at Cedia. Assuming you have the amps, I don’t think it would make sense to go with these, and you could just upgrade your speakers instead of these which come with amps. How would you compare the Theory bigger in-walls to the larger Be in-walls. All said, these look like game changers for the industry at this price!
Yeah....they are easily as good and possibly better. I did hear them..and loved them...and love Revel. I owned the BE series towers as well as the 208.. Went to Focal which I prefer..but yes these are truly game changers. The IW25 (which is the only in wall from theory) is $1000...backboxed against the Revel that's $4500 with the back box and I'd still prefer the Theory. Very few things I'd pick over it and in those cases it's either pro audio which is just the bigger brothers...or many many times the price.
@@TheaterAdvice_FCAV Got it, thanks! I hear they’re making bigger speakers for next year. So excited for this brand to succeed! And finally see some good innovation in the in-wall space
I wish they would. I was there...saw nothing of the sort but wouldn't surprise me if they expanded the line. I'ts really amazing. My cleints I've installed it for are blown away @@Novilicious
If someone were to have everything and just need the 7 speakers, how much would the speakers run with the amp included?
so you don't have to use their subs because you can go LFE to others...So 7 speakers and amp is $13500 retail. Needs balanced cables...or RCA to Balanced. Comes in in wall...on wall and In ceiling. Outdoor speakers on the way.
@@TheaterAdvice_FCAV Interesting. I thought the in-wall loud speakers retailed for ~$1000 each. Curious how seven of them plus the amp would jump up to $13,500. Is the amp like $6k? Thanks for continuing to posting great videos
@@gremlinsmiteryeah the amp is $5k. Speakers are $1100. Add the sub and it’s 13-14 all day. But worth every penny.
Product name? Links for product we need the details in the video about section
Theory Audio...go to the link to my site and contact me ...I sell and design all over the nation.
How / when will these be available in AUS?
Great Question. I can work on it.
And next month there will be another best i have ever head in wall speakers 😂
Would only be that if I hear ones better for these. And for the money these are th ebest I've heard. Different price levels will have different opinions. I don't second guess myself.
how compares to monitor audio
Theory Is worlds better for movies. In music world...I love MOnitor. Great speakers and great company.
Where do you buy these speakers?
From me I'd hope lol. We design and ship them all over the nation all the time. Reach out through my website.
Is it better than JBL SYNTHESIS ?
Theory NO. ....Pro Audio..Yes I'd take it all day over JBL..and most other things. But it's a different price level than Syn at the Theory level. You can have a full 5.2.2 Atmos system with amp for $16K or so with Theory. Killer for that money
When they swear by their kids, that actualllllly mean they lieeeee 😂😂😂
No clue what you mean...but I can tell you I never lie.
@@TheaterAdvice_FCAV ua-cam.com/video/RNSnMFgNq1Q/v-deo.html
Theory are okay. Perlisten are currently the best In-Walls you can get. Better than Synthesis. Focal is lackluster across the entire lineup.
Disagree but Perlisten are also good. I sell them as well.
Focal Utopias are fantastic, JL also puts out great speakers too and I’d put Definitive Tech in consideration too for any home theater system.
@@GhostSal Own them myself. Have a video about it. They are my favorite but in Utopias are $10k each...These are $1000 each. Different conversation.
