Just bought one from Ebay, brand new, tool only. The only instructions with it were for the battery and charger, which it did not come with. So thank you for you thorough explanation of this jigsaw.
Thank you very much for your comment. It is my pleasure and I’m so happy you were able to get the information needed for your jigsaw. I think you’ll find it an excellent tool very well-made and durable with great features. Take care Joe
Hello LFDT Gaming! Thank you very much for your comment. I really appreciate that. Let me know how it goes. Please consider subscribing. Thank you Joe.
I found out that the selection switch on the side isn't for speed. It's actually for the angle of the blade. Whether or not it ls parallel to the material. If you look close to the stamped depiction of the blade you can see a picture if the material vs the position of the blade. That's why the cut is of lesser quality when you stitch it from 0.
Yes that switch on the side changes the isolation from 0 to 3. Three is the most aggressive cut but the poor‘s quality zero has no oscillation a fine cut but it’s slow. The variable speed comes from the trigger. It’s a great unit I’ve used it quite a bit over the last week thanks for your comment.
Thank you for your comment. I would love to have Dewalt sponsor my channel. I have so many of their tools and they’re always great they have always performed well for me. Take care joe
@@JosephHunstad Haha…me too. Although I sometimes are tempted to switch to Milwaukee, but I already have all I need with the Dewalt brand. All quality tools and can’t go wrong or have too many. Take care.
Hi Dave, thanks for the thumbs up. I love this jigsaw. It is so versatile and powerful. No need to use anything corded anymore. Consider subscribing. Thanks Joe.
It’s true that a 5 inch blade length will only really cut material of 4 inches because you can’t utilize the upper 1 inch or so. This is very true so take that into account when you consider blade length
Hey, good question. No there’s no constant on you have to keep holding the trigger to get it to run. I guess that’s a safety feature. Consider subscribing. Thanks, Joe.
I have one & its a love hate relationship, I love the balance & quality of cut & tool, I hate the shoe design with the gap at the front & no way to easily follow a line if you can't see the blade & the bogus dust blower helps pile dust up in front of the shoe when cutting things like rip cuts on laminate flooring, even crappy $60.00 cordless saws have a shoe with a closed in front & indentation for center of the blade along with a vacuum attachment that can push into the back of the shoe to suck the dust out. so they spent a lot of time over designing its awesome features while overlooking its ability to easily perform its basic task.
Roger thank you so much for your excellent observations. No question I’m disappointed with the lack of cut visibility , because of the poor dust clearance. And yes, I agree. The shoe design could be much better. The versatility and power and control and feel of the tool is excellent, but it does have some issues for sure. Consider subscribing. Thanks Joe.
I bought that saw. It worked fine with wood cutting blades but would not hold onto thinner metal cutting blades. Spit them out. It's an issue with these saws judging from product reviews. So I returned it and bought a corded Bosch for half the price.
Thank you so much great comment. I have not used it with metal cutting blades but I imagine because they have a thinner kerf the shank is thinner also. Thanks again for the update. Isn’t it amazing how corded are so much less expensive than cordless
@@JosephHunstad hey do ya think that new one that is 3200 rpm and brushless is any good? Also how is the dust blower on the one you’re doing the video on? And does it have an LED light for seeing the line?
@@wyattsdad8561 well first of all this one is brushless, so I think that’s better. The brushes will never wear out because there aren’t any. It does not have an LED light and the dust blower. It’s for position and it’s OK but it’s not fantastic. Thanks, Joe.
I just got this tool I find the dustblower isn’t really doing anything shouldn’t I be able to feel the air if I check with my hand without a blade in ?
Black Plastic on base plate just irk shit out of me. That will be broken and wont snap on any more. My dad hates sum of tools made these days. Plastic crap. Sigh disappointed in tht like wat was they thinking
Hello Nikko beans Thanks for your comment. Yes that non-golf plastic base could certainly be problematic. I imagine if it was cold and you dropped it it would crack and then what? The tool itself is good. Consider subscribing. Thanks - Joe
Thank you finally someone who explain it well and slow for a beginner like me. ✨
