The book ban didn't work. The message says "disconnected", which is a sign that the server was shut down. If you were banned by the book banning machine the error message would be something like "packet size too large".
Datapack coder here just wanted to say the reason I think duping was possible is that it was trying to change its slot but could not so it told it to add item to slot 1 but since you had already got the item it just doubled it after adding it tldr: the game was updating faster then the plugin so they could dupe

I wanted to point out that to some extend miss information/bad use of words where use for item bans/area bans so basically a item ban is a that contains a lot of data the player receives this data and sends it back to the server but when it try to send it back the server can not handle that much data so it kicks the player. So no the books don't mess with the servers code it just overloads the data sent by the player to the server. Also the bans work in a 31.5 (and not 32) circle radius for the versions 1.18+ and rectangle for lower. You can also give this item ban to a mob to increase the radius up to 47.5. This doesn't work for the server software paper (purper is a version of paper) if its 1.17+ (You can still give the item directly to a player that would work but wouldn't work in a radius) but it does work on spigot or vanilla. Also it is referred as a ban but technical it just a kick that is repeated over and over again. Also this "machine" is called a "sulker ban" it called a area ban since it "bans" players in a radius (area). Also lag doesn't mean the "book" (area ban) works it could just be the server lagging by the amount of players but it isn't directly connected to the the area ban.
For anyone wondering, dupe is completly patched (and any other glitch in future) those first dupes were actually "working" but Mojang detects the block as a "ghost" block won't do anything, you have nothing in your hand. Their "glitch" is just someone giving items on creative.

The Infuse SMP (the server I'm playing on) has a plug-in where instead of having a stack of golden apples (64) it gets cut in half (32). Going from what the admin told me, The plug-in was so glitchy that the duping method I used plus a full inventory helped me dupe. The only video I cheated on was my sword video that is on my channel by using Freecam to find structures and other things in an event (I was doing it because I wanted to be a corrupt admin 😂+ everyone in the event had no problem with it after it was over, no beef at all) thank you for watching the video tho🙏
