Product Update: A standard retail version of the Fourteenth Doctor sonic screwdriver is now available for general sale in the UK. Some retailers include The Who Shop, Forbidden Planet & Amazon. Stock has been fluctuating in and out of availability. The standard edition is not the same to the one featured within this review. Visually the "chrome" plating is replaced with a standard grey/silver plastic. The multiple lights and sounds are also not present only including the regular blue light setting. The RRP reflects this being roughing around £17.99-£20. The packaging also sports a darker black/blue design unlike the white design featured within this product review.
10:27 It actually is part of the actual prop. It can be seen in the reveal trailer for the sonic and when The Doctor created a sonic hologram in the crash site.
I received mine in the mail, and i think my only issues are: 1. The sounds are really quiet, i instantly changed to brand new batteries, and theyre still quiet 2. I wish there was an led in the emitter, not only the tube, as its not as bright 3. The claws are pretty flimsy and sometimes only one or two open 4. There is a slight delay when pressing the button for sounds and lights to activate. The sounds and lights happen about a second after holding the button, and stop like a second after letting go 5. Changing the color settings is tricky, as sometimes it takes up to 10 seconds for me to get a red setting 6. My standard blue light is more like a normal flashlight color, pretty white with a very slight hint of blue, doesnt seem as blue as the sonic in the video Overall i still like it, just not sure its worth the £60 i paid from an eBay reseller :P I may have to go for the replica instead and see how it compares
Top part is Reference to 12th Doctor sonic screwdriver and Dalek Ray Blaster Claws - 11th doctor sonic screwdriver Slider crackles and silver parts - 9th/10th doctor Leather part - 11th doctor sonic screwdriver White and copper part is reference to 11th doctor sonic and Master's Laser Screwdriver
The emitter tip is the bullet from the classic sonics. The main top section is done after a Daleks gun. The handle is 10ths sonic, and below that is 11ths. And the very end is the laser screwdriver.
@@therestorationofdrwho1865the golden cylinder at the bottom of the sonic is similar to 12’s and there’s no hint of the classic sonics unlike what you said there isn’t the billet shape at the top
Thanks! The sonics featured within this review as comparison (when stood up) are the magic wand company universal remotes. They have long sold out now, decided to use these as they have a similar metal appearance to the 14 sonic (as they are actually made of metal) - So those are the display `bases seen here. If you are looking for display bases for your sonic i do believe there is a few custom ones on eBay at fairly good prices.
Having compared this version with the leaked image of the retail non chrome version the latter seems a lot more screen accurate to the prop, if you look at Rubbertoe Replicas 14th Doctor Sonic the non chrome version is more similar
You’re right! However Rubbertoes is so expensive. I’m heartbroken I’m not rich! Otherwise I’d order one of their versions. They are really nice. I was comparing it to my mag, which has David on the cover and even the colour, etc. is basically spot on with Rubbertoes! Now to win lotto so I can afford one! 😂🤣
Hi, Indeed i did! Rather sad news although sadly some what expected i think given how things have slowed down so much over the last few years. Sorry to hear about the figures you had paid up.

Not anymore

Thank goodness they got rid of the aluminum poop

Honestly love how it blends a little bit all the designs.
From the 9th->the 12th, and I guess the only 13 doctor would be the secret feature color.
It looks like a mix of 12's and 9/10's sonics.

Thanks!

Green setting
I’ve found the sound quality for mine really bad. It’s loud but sounds like a bad recording for all the sounds with the blue colour
