    Hi ya'll! Appreciate all the concern for the foundation and roof;
    A) Roofer has me on the schedule! Can't hurry him up any faster 🤠
    B) Foundation guy that came out quoted me $85-100K+ to fix the foundation 🤠🤠 double yeehaw! Will not be going that route, so in the meantime I'm just using my noodle to think up some solutions of my own. Not exactly a project I can do in a week, but it's definitely on my radar!
I promise you, I'm not walking around my house blind, I'm just crafting up ways to fix ma shit lol
Hope you all have a great week! ♡♡
edit - re permits: the structure is not attached to the house and small enough to not need a permit! I checked into it beforehand🕵🏼‍♀️

That’s how it is! I’m getting a new roof after more than a year of leaks but I had to wait the rainy season out and save enough Money. My house has had lot of creativity into the renovations, from bribing my grandparents to come for Christmas dinner, and sneakily wrangling Grandpa into showing me how to fix plaster cracks to paying a plumber in beer and pizza hahahaha.

You could do a partial deck roof with just a canvas and cover the area you want to hang your hammock for shade. A canvas cover would be removable in winter.

Hannah has a personality type that can literally get along with ANYONE, young or old, rich or poor. She’s no respector of persons. That’s what I love abt her the most! She is just so humble and so genuine, you can’t help but to LOVE EVERYTHING abt HER! Shes the type of friend, that everyone WANTS but is SO HARD to FIND. I wish she was MY friend IRL, bc I too, share her same spirit. She’s a rare gem, 💎 definitely one of a kind! 🙌🏻 ❤️ 🤗

You could make a canvas “roof for the deck so it would attach to the actual roof easier and you could remove it during winter so it doesn’t get damaged. I was just thinking about the angle of the roof and the weight plus amount of snow that would sit on it.

You don't really have to remove the water from the hole. In a wet hole, just put the tube in to the correct depth and then pour the cement mix in dry. the mix will soak in the water in needs. Since this isn't structurally critical (and not even attached to the house), you can be more relaxed about the "proper" way to do things. In fact, an argument could be made that you don't even need to use dug footings at all - just set the "feet" of the deck on concrete pads and let them flex slightly with the frost heave. Just a suggestion, if it's not too late....

I haven't read all the comments so I don't know if anyone has told you or not but if you do not chop down those trees that are growing up beside of your house where you're planning on putting your deck they are not only going to destroy the foundation to your home it's also going to destroy your deck. All the money that you have spent renovating your home and building the deck will be lost. You need to cut down the trees and put something on the stumps to kill the roots otherwise it will grow back and you'll be in the same boat. I know this because trees were growing out from under my home at the foundation and it had started to destroy the foundation. I cut the trees down put something to kill the stump and the roots which has saved the foundation of my home.

might be worth researching a decking with a pergola. (there's a youtube vid called "building a floating deck on uneven ground" that might be of use)
i think that will give you the kind of roofing you're looking to allow you to add fabric for shade during the warmer months and take down in the colder. Also that way you can add all your twinkly fairy lights and even plant a wisteria or a similar climber and you'll get the beautiful flower scents to chill under. oh and a set square and post level will be your best friend

Love the look of all the open space you found to go.
I live in the south and I get it that colder places can change the level of a foundation. Here soil drying and creaking dose it.
I'm sorry you have not found someone to help you. It's hard to explain , but not as hard to level a pier- n -beam home and needs to be done to many homes. Cement homes get cracks and then have to be jacked up and filled in. Way harder to do. So not just getting undeveloped happens to more the PNB like your. Sounds like contractor wants to put in adjustable jacks under your home. Only reason I can think for that high a cost, but not judging don't have all the facts.
The hardest part is haveing to crawl under your house were you have to jack up your home a little higher then needed for level not much, after either adding to blocks you have or then stacking cinderblocks in places( you need them added like under heavey firebox/ fireplace or refrigerators) After adding or creating you lower jack back down on to the blocks. There is a house level kit it contains a long tube to create a large flexible version of the little level that on the yard stick one you have used.
Truth is you can understand it better if you watch videos of leveling a trailer house/moble home. Rv's you only do corners so not those.

It’ll be epic if you build something to connect both cabins and create a little wood palace. You are incredibly talented! Thanks for sharing your journey and unique magic. Kudos on another great job, as everything you do it will only get greater with time.

I'm pretty sure I've watched hannah use random things to open a bottle of wine more times than I've actually seen her use a corkscrew.

I could be wrong but I feel like you have to get a building permit for a deck. I remember Amon and Bec got dinged on that when they built their decks. You might've already gotten a permit, but they had to pay a fine and risk having to tear the decks down because they didn't get one first. A lot were freestanding as well.
