Hi Cecilia, I have been going through a really hard time in my life and your videos have kept me company on the worst days. My husband is losing his battle to cancer (though we still always will have hope) and we just got married, I’m only 25. If the worst happens I think I might try to visit/live in Scandinavia for a while and I’d love to visit Svalbard, the culture there seems so beautiful and peaceful. Thank you for bringing me some peace and I only wish the best for you, Christopher, Grim, and your family ❤

How lucky are you to have been raised by people who weren’t afraid of big moves, starting somewhere new and exploring the world with young kids rather than being stuck in places, routines and what’s considered as “regular” life. Often times independence is associated with financial stability but the reality of it is not depending on systems and societal expectations! Good on you :)

@@AnnikaK87 Statistically, the wealthy have higher rates of depression than the middle classes, and lower rates than those in poverty. So, no, a lot of money gets in the way of happiness. Globally this is true, too, the countries with the highest rates of happiness have the largest middle classes (such as Sweden). Compare that to countries such as Saudi Arabia or UAE, where some of the richest people on the planet live, but also some of the poorest, everyone is less happy. Having more than everyone else does not make you happy, the key is to have around the same as everyone, and everyone has enough to pay for necessities.

I have been told that my I loved it, my relative loved me. My bucket list is to once again visit Sweden. I am so very proud of my culture. My grandparents have passed. My mother, who spoke Swedish fluently, has passed. I am so sorry that I never learned her language. I so want to hear about, see Sweden and learn about the culture, other than what my mother taught me. I do recognize many of the Christmas trationions, that my mother shared. I miss her so.

I could just imagine you walking in swinging a mouse by the tail & your poor mother trying to relax & feed your sister! I used to lock my daughter in her room whilst I tried to feed her brother as she always got into mischief. It was jealousy on her part; when my youngest son arrived, I bottle fed him so that he ended up more often than not with the pillow propped next to him with the bottle so that I could keep an eye on big sister.
I love Sweden, it looks so beautiful & to be able to walk in the forest would be wonderful. It was strange to see you without your gun on you back, & the birdsong was so delightful. Something I love here in Australia is the bird life & noise of our native birds as they flit about enjoying life.
I hope that you remembered everything Christopher wanted from the shops & that you bought him a special treat!! Also Grimm one as well!! It feels so strange to me getting your video though at 11 pm Sunday night as it usually comes in during the early hours of Monday so I sit & enjoy it when I have brunch around midday. No I think you'll both find it looks like Nova Scotia. We even used to be neighbours with Scandinavia during Pangea, and Cape Breton's mountains originated from the same ancient mountain range as Norway's 🏔

I love how you say you timed it perfectly because the weather was beautiful, but Cecilia, you find beauty in ALL weather! 😄 You know if you were in Svalbard while it’s raining or snowing, we would hear you exclaim how beautiful it is. That’s just you, I think. And it’s a wonderful trait. 😊
Interesting exchange with your mom. You and she both have such an eye for interior design. 😍

Sweden is so very beautiful ! Such a magical place to grow up ! Here in Texas it’s just concrete and heat. It’s too hot to do much of anything outdoors unless you go out very early in the AM or you are by a lake. I long to be able to take a beautiful hike thru magical woods ! Your mom is wonderful and yes I would love to learn more about your dad and your siblings too !!! Thank you for sharing your adventures with us !!!

Thanks for showing us around the area in Sweden where you grew up. It's beautiful! It looks similar to the Pacific NW where I live in Washington state. In one day, we can be hiking in the mountains then go to the ocean or Puget Sound. Our favorite place is Deception Pass. We go almost every month to hike and enjoy the beach. I love it!

I recognize this in your parents. Thank you for sharing. South Louisiana, James.

in 2019 on our viking cruise we were in gothenburg, we took an optional tour called west coast island discover, kungalv, stenungsund, and the islands of tjorn and orust, to the kladesholmen. then to skarhamn. the coast is really picturesque, and coming from cape may in nj, was really beautiful, quite a few photos that I took.

I loved seeing this beautiful scenery of where you grew up. I remained living closer to my parents and was glad I did at the end of their lives. My mom got brain cancer very unexpectedly at 72 and the last year of her life I spent a great deal of time with her. My dad lived much to much older, but the last year of his life I was grateful to be there for him in and out of the hospital stays and able to go to him when he needed me. My brother lives much further away and didn't really see them much at all at the end. There is value in all experiences, but it made more sense to me to stay closer to them. It's so pretty in your area of Sweden. I would love to visit there. We live in the Bay Area in California and we are fortunate to have many beautiful forests and hiking trails here too. Thank you for your efforts in making such a lovely video.
