I love this. I figured we have ALL had these days. Every hook up is a log, every bad cast is in a tree, every knot fails. I learn the most from those trips. GREAT VIDEO
I'm so happy to catch this video after the podcast with John Dalton...I was stoked. Had me laughing and you were coy about it 🤣. Grateful to see the ultralight gear getting some love. I was with my buddy years ago fishing a subdivision pond and gave him the old Berkley Cherrywood ultralight. He hooked a 3.5 pound largemouth bass with a 1/16 ounce Beetle Spin from that nothing looking pond. We used to slay multi species until they dredged it and ruined it for the most part. Blessings Ethan
Nice video Ethan. I don't even go out on my kayak when the wind is that strong. But I'm 70 years old so I don't take chances like I use to. I will however fish from the bank in the wind and do quite well. That last bass was a great finish. Thanks for sharing.
Those vanfords are the bees knees. I prefer the stradic in 1000 but I found a great deal on a used 2000C vanford so I traded my 3000 vanford and $40 for the 2000C, it balances so much better on my 6’9” ML zodias. The plus side to the 2000C is it’s the same size as a 1000 reel 💯👌🏼
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 nothing but an awesome catch-and-release fishing video here. for sure it is. Always enjoy watching your videos, I do I've been having a lot of luck with trout, pickerel and bass and panfish at the canal using those 1"/2 cm berkley power bait nymphs and berkely 3 inch floating trout worms. Please keep up the great work that you're doing and continue with these awesome fishing videos.
Nice bass to end the video with! been loving my micro finesse set up with my crappie slayer light rod. Caught a 2.85lb large mouth with a 1/15oz jig and larva set up and it was an awesome fight 😆 keep them vids coming man love to watch them 😁
Looks like a great day on the water. I still haven't gotten the kayak wet this year, but she is loaded up and ready. Great to see some great catches Ethan.
Great video Ethan :) Still waiting to get out over here in Minnesota. My son and I made a gear run to a local sporting goods store yesterday in anticipation of our first outing. Cheers!
i finally tried the micro drop shot couple days ago and got lit up had a ton of bites and they run my worm down the hook but never took it full i ended up catch a couple long ears. it did increase my bites tho i jus need to find the right color or maybe hook size. the guide video you had made came in clutch
Great video, questions is the dropshot rig only for a straight drop own, or can it be used to cover area from the banks? I'm new to freshwater fishing and you video are great and informative.
I use it more for casting and working the bottom than I do a straight down retrieve. In this case, straight down made since because I was fishing 30’ of water on specific groups of fish.
@fish anything, is there a way to leave a comment on your website, mule jig fishing ? cus i am loving the workhorse 1/16th oz jig and the 1.6" donkey tail jr. i've been ultralight fishing in florida and what you have works very well. i wanted to leave a customer review but couldent find anywhere on the website to do so. 10/10 will buy again.
@@FishAnything that's awesome! Great videos! I went out with a trout magnet the other day. I had an ultralight rod on a 2lb test. With 1/64oz jig. For some reason I could not cast it further than maybe 20 feet. Any recommendations?
Ethan, Ethan, Ethan... we don't come here for monsters! We come for the dinks. You can't be catching 4 or 5 pound bass on this channel! Please tone it down in the future. That is all.

I look at it like paying a tax for the good days.
Eventually it can be turned around! Gotta keep the head down and stay positive!
"Dinky gear, donkey bass" is such a great line.
Lol glad you liked it!

Thanks Jerry! Safety should always be first!
I'm in northern Indiana I've been getting crappie and bluegill in the lake channels. Shallow shallow
Similar in the southwest Chicago suburbs buddy. Just off the weedline drop-off. Fish on brother
Thanks for the heads up! Tight lines guys

Need to get out there and meet up soon. Fishing time has been a bit harder to come by but I’m definitely eager to get out again.
Great fish right at the beginning!!!
That fish was a pleasant surprise

Yeah sunfish can sometimes be a bit pesky with the drop shot. Those micro hooks help a lot! Size 8 is my typical go to.
@@FishAnything thank you that helped alot i got pack of 8s and 10s
Some of the best fish I’ve caught have been on ultralight!
Same!
Great job
🤠👊🏽 thanks!
Love the drop shot 🎣
It’s been good to me this year!

I just subscribed to your channel and I like it so far! Where in Michigan do you fish?
I’m on the southwest side! Tight lines - thanks for the support
1/8oz dropshot weight and a karma mule minnow 2.2 saved my @$$ all year long in 2023! I suspect it will do the same this year as well
I love to hear it!
SLP works makes shallow spools for Daiwa.
Yeah aftermarket spools are another good option
The pink fake maggots by Lunkerhunt are excellent perch drop shotting baits.

If you want to review Mule, doing so on Facebook is very helpful!
Where did you buy your shoes? I like them .. yellow looks good
They are discontinued from Rocky Boots
Any recommendations for micro hard baits I’ve been looking but can’t really find any that aren’t expensive
I plan to do more content on this. In the meantime, Yo Zuri & Rapala make some of the best stuff for a fair price.
Any plans to make an ewg mule jig? I’d buy plenty!
Maybe someday! Thanks for the suggestion :)
What size rod were you using on the drop shot?
That was my Phenix elixir 7’6 UL rod
Nice video!
Thanks 👊🏽👊🏽
Caught a bass on a red spinner bait out my kayak, the other day 👀 about two pounds
Nice work! Sounds fun :)
Drop shot baby
🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼 it’s been good to me!
Is a size 10 mosquito light hook too small?
I use an 8 so I think a 10 will be fine too.
What kind of fish finder is that?
Simple ol’ Lowrance hook2 5x
5:02 sounds alot like my mother in law

Make a video of fishing knots?
Thank you for the recommendation! I will continue to incorporate some knot tips in videos.
