Thank you! I had such a blast in this fishing trip - definitely one of my favorite videos I have ever filmed. Super stoked I actually landed that big ol' slimer :D
Thank you James, I appreciate you watching! :) How can I not stay positive when I am kayak fishing with some tasty beverages and pulling on big fish on 2lb test?! :D
I was enjoying a nice tasty coffee ☕ while watching this fabulous video on Mule Lake. What a time out there! Tons of bluegill, some nice bass and a beauty of a carp! That battle was epic! Just a fun filled day of beers, bass, bluegill and carp. Who could ask for more. Very enjoyable video Ethan!!
Thanks Fitz! These are definitely my favorite kinds of days. Light line multispecies + a relaxing kayak trip. Simply can't complain! Would have been even more fun if you could have joined in your yak :D
@@FishAnything yeah… I think I am. Been looking at rods, the Mule lures I saw on another video, and new cases to hold everything. Too bad you don’t get royalties for stuff people buy.
Nice!!! I bet that was an absolute blast! I just caught my first ever carp while steelhead fishing and I was pretty impressed by their fight, and that was on 8lb leader. I can't imagine that fight. Excellent job bringing her in.
Thanks Adam! Yeah I have caught a few Carp while bass fishing with 8-15lb test before. Always a blast but this was next level. I can't imagine if I would have hooked a massive carp haha probably would have taken 30 minutes to land.
Online Outdoorsman get all those solo trips in while you can. Once that family kicks in, the fishing is still great but you won’t want to leave the little ones behind.
Loved the video! Ella thinks you’re catching the same bluegill 😂😂. I like Country Boy Brewing our of Lexington KY. Their blonde ale, Cougar Bait 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Mark, if you sell a few of your 1,000 fly rods, maybe you could scoop one up! Haha but seriously thanks for watching. This was a blast of a fishing trip!
Nice catch brother three of my buddies from back east got together every Sunday and carp fished ultra-lite rods and 2lb line carp in are tributary ranged in weight from 6-30 lbs my pb was 26 pounds it took 1 hour and 42 minutes to land in my net my most memorable experience to date
WOW! What an EPIC day you had; that looked awesome. I’ve caught carp on Ned Rigs already and I too love the fight they give. I just love the fact that you enjoy the light line fishing so much. I’d say I use my ML spinning rods about 70% of the time and then my UL about 25% and then my casting gear about 5%. But it is a blast watching you catch all of the awesome light line fish. As far as beer; I typically like different microbrews the best; but we have Peroni’s in the fridge right now. A side note though; we are not allowed to have alcohol at the lakes etc. in this state; that would be a big time fine.
Yeah Gary it was one of my favorite fishing trips since I have been carrying a camera with me! And seriously I will be using more and more light line this year. I simply love it! As far as brewskis go, I think I may have had a Peroni once! Might need to give it another shot. And that is surprising you can't even enjoy one or two out on the water. As long as you are responsible and don't litter, I feel like a couple beers doesn't hurt anything. Ah well, follow the rules. Not really a huge deal anyway!
Christopher I bet that was a wild ride too! I have caught a few in my day but normally they are on more of a bass setup so it isn't as nutty. This was definitely my favorite carp fight of all time!
Totally agree with what you said after you got that carp, people think "rough" fish suck, but they suck. Things like suckers carp and bowfin are so much more fun to catch than bass. They fight so hard
I love all fish species, unless they are invasive and causing ecosystem problems. Common Carp are not native but don't really harm much so I have zero issues with them. They are fun to catch :)
Went fishing for Yellow perch yesterday. I was using an 8 foot ultra light pole with 4lb test and a 1" gulp minnow. I ended up catching a 28.5" 7lbs 2oz Pike. Took me almost 20 minutes to land him.
Looks like a blast man , i just picked up my 1st kayak about a week ago. i think im only going to take my UL gear with me next time because that looked fun

I usually fish with casting setups for most bass fishing trips. That said, I just wanted a good ol' light line day in this trip. Glad I did! And thank you for the kind words, they mean a lot!!
You'd be in legal trouble for drinking some beers in the great outdoors here. Until last year my longest and, until this year, my heaviest fish of all time was a carp that was north of 30". 4 lb test.
I bet you had an absolute blast catching that carp! Now you are big Musky man and you are tossing baits that look like the carp I caught haha! Interesting that they won't let you drink a couple beers out on the lake there. I am always an advocate for being responsible. A few won't hurt anything. Just don't litter!
@@FishAnything fun fact, our state record muskie had a 3 lb carp in its stomach when it was caught. If it hadn't eaten that carp it wouldn't have been a state record. That carp was peeling drag! Thanks for the long video! Saturday night, social distancing, sipping some Heady Topper and rigging my new kayak. Overall not to bad!

AYYYY TONY ABATE!!!! That is how I will respond to you everytime from now on. I think it sounds liked we'd get along. Maybe when this social distancing thing goes away, we will grab a beer someday.
I just love watching your videos. Because we have the same mindset. I love using ultralight gear. To me, "power fishing" is not fun. And in my opinion is not very sporting. When you are catching fish under 15 pounds and using a 65-pound braid line, where is the challenge? And so many do it. And they literally rip the poor fish out of whatever cover it is in. I just do not like it and I don't think it is fair to the fish. Yes, it is just a fish. But they should be dealt with respect. And in my mind, using a very heavy line is not doing that. The heaviest line I use is 10 pound. And that is for heavy cover. Mostly I use 4-pound line. Going to get some 2 pound just for the fun of it. And I would rather catch 10 bluegills than one big bass. Well, maybe not. But I want that bass on light line. Enjoy the fight. Deal with it taking line and smoking the drag. I like to be challenged. And using heavy line is not challenging to me. Keep the awesome videos coming. We need more fishermen like you. Ones that are a good sportsman.
Glad you enjoy the same style of fishing as I do! I still enjoy power fishing from time to time just because it increases the chances of larger fish but I don't do it often. Pros & cons to all fishing styles but I tell you what, it is hard to beat the ultralight gear :)
@ This is just a suggestion. Why do you not introduce your wife to your subscribers or teach her in preparation to learn about fishing or step by step in how to fish , so you both can fish together at times, and just bond together. It was very thoughtful for her to bring you a few drinks or a snack at times.
I appreciate the suggestion and agree it could be a fun thing to try. That being said, I will never force someone to be on camera - that is not being fair to someone who may not be comfortable. I agree. Fresh Haze IPA is a great beer, big fan of Deschutes.
Fellas, these Fresh Haze brewskis definitely earned a spot in my lineup. Deschutes never fails!
Fresh squeezed was my gateway into IPA’s and the more bitter stuff. It has a comfortable place in my heart... and my liver.
