He was getting on in age and as such was losing a certain amount of physical prowess. At the same time, logically, his studies into the force were becoming quite advanced (evidenced by his force ghost). Had he been allowed to live on, study and further develop his force skills then he could have become far more dangerous, along the lines of Yoda in terms of force power.
Qui-Gon was one of the best Jedi ever. He followed the discipline & honor of the Jedi, but also knew that sometimes doing the right thing is more important than following rules merely for the sake of following rules. @@adamscott7354 Mace Windu near enough considered him a heretic, and that scene in the Phantom Menace where he tells the council he thinks Maul is a Sith and Windu brushes him off. You want to shout....
Qui Gon finding Anakin was no accident. It was the will of the Force. Together, they would have been unstoppable. Qui Gon has gained the wisdom of Yoda and context of the prophecies and would've likely maintained Anakin's place - the humility of being the Chosen One.
Plottwist: Qui-Gon would've been to catalyst to help Anakin stay in the light side path, but after his death and the inevitable turn of Anakin to the dark Side, Luke became the catalyst, now to bring him back too the light.
which would've been against the will of the force, "balance in the force" requires a blanace of light and dark, neither side fully ruling, thats what eventually happens( as luke isn't actually a jedi) at the end of the 6 movies(im only counting the 6 movies here, cause i havent seen anything else"new things movies dont count")
Anakin was the chosen one to bring balance on the force. Throughout all moves, light and dark went back and forth, with dark being a bit stronger. Anakin made a "pendulum" fast shift and gave light the heads up for a moment. That would be the case with other terms anyway. Prophecies in such lore have their way of fulfillment, like the current of a river.
QuiGon has a very particular set of skills. He's immortal and runs The League of Shadows and he's known to take out cities. He also at one time took on a pack of wolves with his bare hands QuiGon was also a career Air Marshal. Another point worth mentioning, is QuiGon is a brilliant scientist who suffered from severe burns all over body in an accident. The accident changed his psyche as well. He's became quick tempered and psychotic. His cell phone is mightier than Palpatine /Palpatine's lightsaber/ Death Star/ his army combined!!!
If Qui gin never died, the Jedi wouldn’t have died, Anakin would have fulfilled his destiny the right way, and a lot of bad things wouldn’t have happened
Darth Jar Jar is so powerful in the ways of the Force that he managed to manipulate Palpatine into bringing back the sith, and thus taking over the Galaxy without ever putting himself in the spotlight, like a real sith lord. Darth Jar Jar is probably the Gods of Sith. He just that good lol
While I admire your honesty, I kinda despise (not really, you are a great person) your blindness for I felt the force in him since I was watching the original

@G E T R E K T but chances are he would’ve steered him towards a point of balance in the force not simply try to align him with the side of light. I imagine he would be almost like a peacekeeper of the force, taking action against rogue sith or corrupted Jedi.
If Qui-Gon Jinn trained Anakin Anakin wouldn't have looked at the emperor as a father figure Qui-Gon Jinn would be the father figures that would have taken the emperor out of the equation there would have been no Star Wars movies
@Mr Bear I think in legends Qui gon had a brief time when he did succumb to the dark side but he overcame it and realised how to fully embrace the force. And it is implied Dooku abandoned the Jedi because qui god died.
Not neccesarily. I always thought that had quinon and obi wan killed maul and went on to train anakin, hideous would just have done to quinon what he did to padme. Use the pain of that death to twist anakin to the darkside. It's not just padme's death that turns him, it's the seed that was planted when shmi dies. Hideous would have used that
I think you missed that Qui-gon would have been the father that Anakin was missing, there by filling a hole that Anakin didn't even know he had. Making it harder for the Sith to manipulate him
Says a lot that Watto was the closest thing Anakin had to a father growing up huh? But yeah, Qui Gon would be much more approachable to Anakin. He could tell him about his mother, how he still cares, could talk to him about Padme (probably gotten way better dating tips), and told that love is a perfectly normal thing and should be celebrated.
I think the answer can be summed up by what Qui-Gon said in the first movie "I sense a disturbance in the force" Basically, because Qui-Gon was an OG Jedi
I think its nice touch from George that the Chosen One and the Sith for the first time in thousand years both come in to play at the same time. No wonder Qui-Gon took it seriously.
yeah, the entire jedi council was arrogant. yoda was just the figurehead. i remember mace windu saying there's no way the sith can return without us knowing, and he was eventually killed by the double agent anakin whom he didn't know was turning dark.

Never realized how important he actually was. It's a shame we only saw him for 1 movie. He seems like he's the smartest and most wise Jedi ever. Qui-Gon was also a student of the Living Force. He would have been a more effective and experienced master for Anikan. It’s also very possible had he lived he would have discovered Darth Sideous dual identity.
And probably killed him without a second thought or any warning. Qui-gon doesn't give a shit about politics, the jedi council, or what people would think. The nanosecond he realized who Palpatine was, he'd go for throat. Either he'd take his head off in public, or ol' Palps would be forced to defend himself with his lightsaber/the force. Either way, he's either dead or exposed.
Obi-Wan: I have a bad feeling about this. Qui Gon: I don't sense anything. He thought that to be mindful of the future is a good thing, but not at the expense of the moment.
Qui Gon, i believe, seemed to lie about things, maybe to not worry people or because he was unsure, you can see that something was on his mind through the opening scene and when darth maul came on the scene in tatooine he was prepared like he sensed it straight away or before hand. I dunno maybe i'm wrong but he was by far my favourite jedi to this day.
Qui-Gon: There's something else behind all this, your highness. There's no logic to the Federation's move here. My feelings tell me they will destroy you.
Tahl, Qui-Gon's better half, died on a mission. They were contemplating leaving the Jedi Order together before ultimately deciding to stay. Master Tahl's death, if I remember correctly, also almost sent Qui-Gon to the Dark Side.
I mean, Qui-Gon was also Dooku's apprentice, and I might be remembering this wrong, but I think he also was responsible for holding his master back from the dark side on quite a few occasions.
My theory is one that George Lucas personally hated and went out of his way to try and debunk but I still think holds true as long as you ignore the extended universe and only take what's on-screen as canon. Anakin Skywalker is the Chosen One. The chosen one is supposed to bring "Balance" to the force. This, of course, implies that the force is out of balance. There are thousands of Jedi in episode 1 in a galaxy-spanning organization. There is, however, only 2 Sith. A Master, and an Apprentice. This seems pretty dang far out of balance to me. Cut to episode 4. There are now 2 surviving Jedi. Obi Wan Kenobi, and Yoda. There are also two Sith. a Master and an Apprentice... Seems to me, Vader did bring balance to the force... But that wasn't what the Jedi expected now, was it?
Been saying that for years. However I have heard people say that there is no "light side, dark side" to the force. Just the Force. And that what is referred to as the "dark side" is really just a perversion of the force which is why it deforms the dark side users
That was always my impression as well - balance implies an equilibrium, not a victory. But let's also not forget, that Anakin does in fact destroy the Empire in the end, effectively being the end of *BOTH* the Jedi Order *and* the Galactic Empire/Sith. In short, he brings balance to the force by exterminating almost every force user, leaving only Luke, a moderate Jedi.

I think the biggest reason Sidious fear Qui-Gon is that Qui-Gon would have helped Anakin with his feelings, where as everyone else told him that he must ignore the feelings. Thus, Anakin would have been much harder to manipulate. Sidious needed Anakin to fear these feelings and thus not know how to control them. If Qui-Gon had taught Anakin to live with his feelings and have control over theme, Sidious would have been powerless as Sidious wouldn't have been the one Anakin entrusted help with these feeling to Sidious. Sidious would not have known of the emotional turmoil Anakin was facing and therefore could not use Anakin's emotions. At least, This is what I believe George Lucas was hinting at.

Another example of how the sith --in their anger-- sowed the seeds of their own destruction: killing Qui Gon was the means by which the Jedi learned to commune in the force after death, and perfect it to becoming force ghosts which steered the entire story toward the Sith's defeat.
I feel like qui-gon would walk in one day and go "da fuq there's a sith right there." Then the council would look around like "huh??" While Palpatine is in his black robe snickering.
Max it purged the complacent and slumbering old Jedi council whilst luring the Sith out in the open, where they are the most exposed, ending then aswell, insuring a renewal and, finally, balance.
Palpatine was afraid of Qui Gon Jinn because he had a secret Identity; this was "Aslan the Lion". Jadis was Palpatine's girlfriend! You can work the rest out for yourselves! :D
3:15 I think it is more than that, Qui-Gon's living force is neither light nor dark but an ever changing weave of the two, I don't think he would have asked Anakin to turn away from love. Just like again Luke did in the extended universe.

It’s fitting, what Palestine was probably most scared of from Qui Gon wasn’t some advanced super Jedi power, or some Uber-weapon, or hidden knowledge, it was compassion.
The compassion, humility, and respect for others that are, far too often, mistaken for weakness.

Anakin was the chosen one to bring balance on the force. Throughout all moves, light and dark went back and forth, with dark being a bit stronger.
Ari damn.... never thought about it like that
Been saying that for years.

The way I see it, the Chosen One was always suppose to bring balance, which is what supposedly happened when Anakin/Vader tossed Sidous into the reactor. This was a long, round about way of bringing balance, something that was suppose to have happened much earlier on/in Mortis.
well somehow palpatine returned so not really lmao
@@eldrickzero4885 yeah they kinda destroyed the chosen one thing by showing that Anakin didn't even bring balance
@@aidanwerner7759 to be fair, the EU destroyed the chosen one prophesy in that manner years ago. People just like Palpatine so much they'd rather have him back than create new villains.
@@eldrickzero4885 the sequels don't count
One could argue that him destroying the Jedi Temple brought balance.
Yoda entering and push those Guards away like nothing will never get old to me :D
As Palpatine should!.... Qui Gon has a certain set of skills🔥🐉👊
Palpatine saw the movie "Taken", do we really need another explanation?
Sidious: "Can I help you"
Qui-Gon: "You don't remember me?...We spoke on the phone 2 days ago...I told you I would find you"
It’s because qui-gon had a particular set of skills
I get it lmaoo
@G E T R E K T 905
Liam Neeson (the actor for Qui-Gon) played a leading role in a movie called "Taken" (2009), and in the movie he phone calls a person who kidnapped his daughter. He says the following speech to the kidnapper:
"I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career, skills that make me a nightmare for people like you."
The original comment said Qui-Gon has a "particular set of skills", which is a direct reference to Liam Neeson's famous speech from "Taken"
Because he was scared that “he will find him and kill him”
I loved the character of Qui-Gon Jinn in TFM. Brilliant casting in Liam Neeson! Only now through online discussions of the character I have come to understand how much more important and great he was.
I agree 100% with your assessment. And I think had he survived the 'Duel of fates' there prophecies would have fulfilled another way.
It all started when i encountered a vergence in the Force.
"I don't believe the sith could have returned without us knowing"
Okay, that's fair, but consider this:
Is that a risk you're willing to take?
That's what showed their arrogance. If you don't believe something, that's fine, but you should still take precautions.
You should do a what if anakin was turned to the light by the youngling at the jedi tempel
i like this idea ... .what if the good in Anakin won out ... the problem I always had with ROTS is that it felt like too rushed of a faill
Xmetal If the movie was done today it probably would've been a 2 part movie and would've been amazing. To me ROTS is fantastic but they really didn't have the time to do all that, would've been awesome if they did though.
The death of Qui-Gon was almost surely the Force doing: let’s remember that the Force doesn’t look for the Light side to win, it seeks a balance
His death basically led to the slaughter of every jedi...wheres the balance there?
Max it purged the complacent and slumbering old Jedi council whilst luring the Sith out in the open, where they are the most exposed, ending then aswell, insuring a renewal and, finally, balance.
@@bodyzergcasting SEQUEL MOVIES COMING IN....
Wetpig i mean. I don’t consider them canon, since they are only produced massively by a vampiric company just to milk money from fans
light side is balance, and qui gon became a force ghost after death
He was scared because Qui-Gon has a special Set of skills
Because he's Liam Neeson, everyone is afraid of Liam Neeson!
Yo! Alos elinas
Palpatine was afraid of Qui Gon Jinn because he had a secret Identity; this was "Aslan the Lion". Jadis was Palpatine's girlfriend! You can work the rest out for yourselves! :D
Especially black dudes in England
Gui-Gon is a true jedi that the galaxy and the chosen one needed to bring peace.
Because Qui Gon always loves it when a prophecy comes together.
Underappreciated brilliance that
OK fine
You got me
Qui-Gon would’ve been able to find out that Sidious and Palpatine were one and the same
I agree
3:15 I think it is more than that, Qui-Gon's living force is neither light nor dark but an ever changing weave of the two, I don't think he would have asked Anakin to turn away from love. Just like again Luke did in the extended universe.
Indeed. Jinn would have been an adult with Anakin about love and set before him choices and options. Obi was too rigid and kind of forced Anakin into a corner. Then Palpatine was able to exploit it.
