Kellen Moore deserves a video, but if you do, ya gotta promise your viewers your gonna do it right, flemlo did it years ago and butchered it.. it was the last flemlo episode I watched. No pressure I'm just one guy
Interesting to gloss over Baker Mayfield breaking the rookie touchdown pass record and also leading Cleveland to their first playoff appearance in nearly two decades
Players like Gabriel should have an Asterix beside their name. If you are playing in the NCAA for 5+ years, it should have less weight than guys like Keenum who only had 4 years of eligibility.
Bruh no one gives a fuck.....especially bout no case fuck keenum, man ain't been relevant since Minnesota and he will always be known for tht horrible NFCchip
Gabriel took over at UCF when McKenzie was injured. He played well next season, but the penchant for head coaches leaving hurt the program. The new coach didn't want Gabriel's style...big mistake. So, he went to Oklahoma.
@johndavis9321 not be eligible for the record would be nice also, but that's opens up a whole new side of problems for the NCAA, and we all know they can't have that lol
@12thMandalorian stay in college however long you'd like but you get 4 years of sports eligibility and no exceptions, it's a contact sport your gonna get hurt no redshirt. Our sport was lost many years ago, but we can still complain 🍻🤝 lol
Graham Harrell is the true legend here. He produced those numbers in 3 years whereas the others on this list did it in 4, 5 and some with 6 years. He had like 400 yds his freshman year mainly in mop up duty situations. I was hyped when he was named OC for WVU with JT Daniels at QB but . . . We all know how well that went 😂
Scott..how could you leave off Colt Brennan from Hawaii..when he left he was college football's all time passing leader in yardage and touchdowns...!!??
Case Keenum made Houston relevant? You ever hear of a gentleman named Andre Ware? Also Timmy Chang took over a complete dumpster fire at Hawaii & had to rebuild the entire roster. They could still make a bowl this year, thus calm down on the idea he’s not gonna make it.
Case was an absolute monster. Great dude too who always earned his spot. A 2 star option qp outa high-school i watch abalone christian murder us quero gobblers in the AAA quarter finals. I hated that dude for if buuut went to u of h so it was all good. Dude was either drafted in the 7th round or went undrafted but worked his tail off to carve himself out a spot. His mentality is unmatched
It’s always gonna end up a little weird, because the nasty majority of successful NFL QBs declare after 3 years, since QBs good enough for the NFL generally want to enter the NFL as soon as possible. You have to be not good enough to enter the NFL as a true Junior, but also good enough to rack up a ton of stats.
What's with all the hate with 6 years? If you are a true freshman, and play straight on through , you have 4 years. A LOT of quarterbacks have a redshirt year. That makes it 5 years. Now we had this little thing called COVID. The NCAA gave an extra year of eligibility. That gives the quarterbacks (as well as other players) 6 years of eligibility.
6 years? How about EIGHT YEARS? Cam Rising is already at year seven and because he got hurt early this year, he is eligible for a " medical redshirt" and return to Utah next year.
If you spend over 4 years in college your total records shouldn't count for shit. Of course you are going to have more yards than someone who played for 4 years. That is just math. Go back in time and give Colt Brennan 6 years in college. Nobody would have broken his records.
Jumping the gun Gabriel has 8 gsmes left if Oregon makes the natty and is 2k behind Keenum. Less 270 ypg to pass Keenum isnt inconceivable by any means.
Yea bc they doubted him first. So he said eff it and went and played for a big time program. I don't blame him one bit. It put him in a better situation and it turned out to be the right decision.
Mayfield had good years with the Browns Mayfield gave the Browns the first playoffs appearance in like 20 years.. and first playoff victory since 94. His rookie year he broke the record for rookie TD passes. And he didn't play for the first two games. Sorry just a bad description of Baker
Did I hear you just say, "He ended up being born in the town of Brownwood, Texas"? Does anybody "end up" being born? Did you mean "He started out being born in Brownwood, Texas"? Did you rehearse or proofread?
Problem with college players going to the pros has always been where they go not so much if they were good enough to be there... granted you do you have your bad ones... but these pro teams think everyone will fit their system and expect them to do it in their first or second year..... many systems are not qb friendly!!! Miss the days they would stick a qb behind a vet and let them learn a few years first.
Why the Hartman slander when Gabriel is also on year 6 and Nix was a full-time starter for 5 years. Both benefitted the same as Hartman with thr extra year.
I think the QB Yardage stat should stop wherever the receiver catch the ball and the receiver yardage should start wherever they caught the ball. A QB can throw the ball 3 yards, but the receiver can run 90 yards and break 5 tackles after the catch and the QB gets credit for those yards, when all he did was throw 3 yards. QB yards are very misleading
Was at U of H when Case was QB. It was a fantastic time to be a Cougar fan. Hell I was on Campus eating lunch and Case and is center were sitting right next tom me. Ahhh good times.
Umm you couldn't be more off even with baker Mayfield. The dude had broke several rookie records and led the Browns to a 7-8-1 record, their best finish since 2007. Not to mentions ending a long playoff drought the browns had. Sources and related content
What is a random topic I could cover next?
What about top players in the lower NCAA divisions and NAIA - most passing yards, best running backs, etc.
How about the top 10 quarterbacks in the last 10 years who played for the pac-12 and what happened to their careers afterwards?
Kellen Moore deserves a video, but if you do, ya gotta promise your viewers your gonna do it right, flemlo did it years ago and butchered it.. it was the last flemlo episode I watched. No pressure I'm just one guy
Best two way players in college history?😊
Top 10 RB/WR
Mayfield wasn't traded to the Buccaneers. He signed as a free agent.
Amazing how few people know the difference. Lol
Also left out a he had good first year in Cleveland and his stint with the rams which really restarted his career
@@pmarr98i don’t even feel like his next two years were that bad, he caught a lot of unnecessary hatred i felt… and i guess i was right!
Ask the people in Cleveland if they would rather have him or the S.A. predator they have now
Wow , you had all these players correct and came away with “ not traded , signed “ awesome , such a useful piece of info
Mayfields career started historically, probably one of the best rookie seasons ever
Interesting to gloss over Baker Mayfield breaking the rookie touchdown pass record and also leading Cleveland to their first playoff appearance in nearly two decades
Not really that interesting
The quirk is that QBs seen as having NFL star potential generally don’t stay in college long enough to rack up huge numbers.
UH. Wrong.
Keenum had a 5th year. It was just cut short due to injury but I agree.
They should limit how many years they can play. I say no more than 5.
Gabriel took over at UCF when McKenzie was injured. He played well next season, but the penchant for head coaches leaving hurt the program. The new coach didn't want Gabriel's style...big mistake. So, he went to Oklahoma.
Case has 6 years in college if I'm not mistaken
Moore also spent multiple seasons as the Lions backup QB before Dallas, didn’t just jump straight to the Cowboys
Its sad 4 year star athletes are gonna have there records shattered by players who over stayed there welcome in college football!
Agreed it's unfortunate imo all records set by 5 year+ college players should have an asterisk next to them
@johndavis9321 not be eligible for the record would be nice also, but that's opens up a whole new side of problems for the NCAA, and we all know they can't have that lol
Anyone who stays in college beyond their years should be having a computer check

I saw Jones play as a kid in New Mexico. He was a legend. Towered over everybody on the field lol.
My sister went to high school with him in Artesia
Can Rising gonna break all these records over his 9 year college career …😂😂😂😂
Great video! Really takes you back man.
2:40 completely skipped his career in Detroit, which is why he was able to get signed in Dallas after Scott Linehan went from Detroit to Dallas
Andre Ware played for Houston and was drafted 7th overall in 1990.
I get his time with the browns wasn’t great but he did get them a playoff win, that has got to be worth mentioning.
"Not as good as deshawn "the diddler" Watson" -the browns front office

Didnt Colt Brennan (RIP) come before Timmy Chang? My memory honestly escapes me
@sconartist He did at QB, he is talking about Chang coaching Hawaii currently
You should do a video on the top 10 greatest games of all time during the action AKA The Mack games during the week from Monday to Thursday
Mayfield had three offers rice wsu and fau
The real number to track here is all the NIL money Gabriel has made 😂That young man has done quite well for himself.
Give Kellen 10 points and he was undefeated. Three losses by a hair.
Graham Harrell's coaching career is probably done at a high level.
Great video. Thanks
Genuinely thought Colt Brennan was going to be on this list
Used to be before the 5 year starters
Me also. UH hiring Timmy Chang as head coach over June Jones made no sense.
Great video!
Do this type of list but with Average Passing yards per game with at least 20 games played.

Case Keenum didn’t make UH relavent, he’s from a long line of UH QBs that like Texas Tech had gaudy numbers in spread offense
David Klingler being another example.
@ Andre Ware has entered the chat
Can you do the top 25 quarterbacks of the 2000s in NCAA
Last time a CSUA/other mid major conference Quarterback got drafted? I think it would be a great video
You might as well go ahead and do rushing, reception yards, ints, and tackles.
“He ended up being born” 🥴
I was like, "What? Was he backpacking through Europe before that?" The overuse of the phrase "ended up" would make an interesting drinking game 😁
Playing for 3 different schools is insane
Multiple great quarterbacks from Texas Tech. TT probably doesn't do so well in a video about great defensive players.
If you spend over 4 years in college your total records shouldn't count for shit. Of course you are going to have more yards than someone who played for 4 years. That is just math. Go back in time and give Colt Brennan 6 years in college. Nobody would have broken his records.

What happened to the top 15 all time recruits
I wouldn’t mind if he made it a series, took the top 100 guys all-time and did em 10 at a time or something

Greatest collegiate passer, Colt Brennan
You should have mentioned that these older QBs only played 11 game seasons and for only 4 years or maybe less

Give Utah's Cam Rising about 6 more seasons, and I think he'll surpass Keenum's career totals. >:-)
Ummm....Tyson Bagent holds the record for most TD passes, and is currently the Back up in Chicago.....so....not sure why he isn't on here.
It is 2024 and outside of North Carolina and Indiana, most people don't even know who Sam Hartman is.
Wow, it almost seems that being a college top 10 quarterback dooms you to have a lackluster NFL career.
You can’t say Hartman deserves an asterisk then not say mix and Gabriel doesn’t especially those two need one more then anyone
ESPN should pay back NFL football teams when they go ga ga over these college players. They get drafted in the 1st round and only play for 2 years.

Comparing career numbers of guys who played 5 and 6 years with those who played 4 or less is meaningless.
Ty Detmer did not deserve the Heisman Trophy over Rocket Ismail.
Why the Hartman slander when Gabriel is also on year 6 and Nix was a full-time starter for 5 years. Both benefitted the same as Hartman with thr extra year.

Bo Nix doesn't count!! He was a 15th year senior

David Klingler. Andre Ware. U of H.
I think the QB Yardage stat should stop wherever the receiver catch the ball and the receiver yardage should start wherever they caught the ball.

That's correct. But over hundreds of passes everything balances out. A factor should be how many games a QB plays. 😉
And takes off of their passing yards, not off rushing totals.
Jeez I guess Graham Harrell just really isn’t great in the post player coaching career, eh? Lol
