I think people.underestimate how difficult tap is. This was so good!
They really do! I tap dance and it took me years too learn some steps! You have to have the right rhythm with no extra sounds and it’s just really difficult! The fastest thing I can do is the triple timestep

Freda Yee It also seems painful. I’m amazed at how they managed to still use their feet after such moves, much less not twist an ankle or two.

Yessss! Preach! I’ve been dancing almost my whole life and tap is the hardest and fastest type of dance. And it’s my absolute favorite! It’s not like jazz or lyrical. If you miss a sound your in trouble. Everything has to be PERFECT! And everyone in my studio hates it and thinks it’s the dumbest thing
In my opinion, this is way more impressive than doing it with cups.
EDIT: I know there's no comparison and this is OBVIOUSLY more impressive. You can stop telling me that now.

take a class, or just buy the shoes it is well worth the 60 or so dollars for a pair of tap shoes
pandacat 04 slow down the video a bit, honestly helps with seeing the steps better and then you can practice a long after watching it a few times, while speeding up the dance at your own pace til you get it to be the same speed as the normal speed on this video.
I've only been tapping for three years, and now I'm on an advanced tap competition team! It's really easy once you get the hang of it! :)

I LOVE this style of tap. The taps sound toned, like music! Doing this style, every sound matters. It reminds me of old Hollywood dancers like Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly. It seems like so much of today's tap involves loud stomping and hyper speed (never mind accuracy). It's a sharp contrast to what seems to be so popular in the competitive tap world, where it's all about volume and speed. I wish there was more tap like this out there!
The precision tapping was remarkable. Clean, musical, and, damn, right in the pocket. Made me smile, made me feel good. Thank you, hoofers!

I’ve been in tap dance for a year now. This video was so inspiring at the beginning. Even if I’m not as graceful as all of you I think I already know how to do all the steps but it’s so hard to figure the choreography out, specially the steps where the camera is pointing to your faces. I still love this video so much. I’d love to dance like you, you’re an inspiration. Thank you for that

Christopher Rice it’s something I’ve been wanting to do for so long. I just love it. It’s really hard to find tap teachers in Mexico but we are so lucky to have found our teacher. He is really strict but we learn a lot and fast. And he’s been great at getting everything he needed for us to keep on dancing from home.
It’s been so fulfilling to start by not being able to do a shuffle correctly and by now it feels so natural.
You’re still an inspiration, I want to dance like you someday.
This proves that music lives in everything, our feet makes such music. Even our heartbeats are music too.

I've learned so much since July.
Its easy! I've been doing it since I was 5. You'll get the hang of it. Find a place that teaches tap dance and start going to classes! Get quality tap shoes so you have good sound, and make sure you are at all your classes (unless your sick or there's an emergency) because you don't wanna fall behind! Good luck!!

I wish that I had taken up tap in my youth. At 68 I started 5 years ago and am absolutely loving it. I took classical ballet for decades….and think tap was more my style So much fun.

takes about 3 months of 1 class a week to learn a dance like this but much longer to make it nice and together
You will notice that there are no fat people doing this. First off most people who are fat - such as myself - can't do this - but - more so - people who can do it - don't get fat.

we did a few classes of tap in like, 3rd grade.
i hated it because im all jiggly n stuff.

I started tapping at about the time this video was uploaded and I was 49. Now aged 57 and I could probably do all these steps but not with such grace and precision. The hardest thing about tap is it plays with your mind, but as we age it's a good thing to exercise the brain so I'll keep going.
Oh its a great exercise for your mind. I still tap and its so cool what our body picks up before our brains do sometimes!

Brilliant, so relaxed. Much harder to tap dance in high heels because women's centre of gravity is pushed forward. Men are more upright as they are dancing in flat shoes. Ginger Rogers, Rita Heyworth etc really cracked dancing in heels. Well done everyone in this video !!
