- The Academy Irish Dance Company performs at the Dublin Irish Festival 2016 on Sunday 8-7-16.
For those who were not there in person to witness this fantastic performance by these highly talents dancers.

youtube was recommending this video to me for many weeks now and i was like "nah youtube, thats not my kind of video!". Today i was like, ok you win and i will watch a minute or two - well 28 minutes later all i can say is a big BRAVO to all performers in this video.
saw them in boston-----front row---center seats-----what you can not see is small chips of plexiglass flying all over the place--those taps would destroy wood----custom cut and installed as a kit----the front seats were about 5 feet away from stage----so the audience would not be showered by the chips-----i have lived in the all irish south boston for most of my life-----they have a strong tie to the IRA in ireland and hate the british army-------violently---------

@edwardmartis4591 from a current irish dancer our hard shoes don't send micro peices of plexiglass all over the place and if they did you'd know as the tips would be absolutely GONE b y the end of a show
My daughter is not yet two and we love watching this video and then mimicking the moves. We have a little Irish dancer in the making!

There is NO question why these young people are World Champions. The precision, unity & snap is simply astonishing.

Amazing stuff guys be proud of your selfs used to do irish dancing before I got arthritis loved it I did now a special olympion 😘😘
Try MSM, and cutting out all sugar and gluten (all wheat flour, I use almond, rice, even gluten-free oat & buckwheat flour on occasion) ...it saved my life ...I was curling up in a ball & could barely move till I went on a Keto diet basically & added supplements like MSM. Sugar is high-octane food for viruses & bacteria & feeds cancer. Some doctors speculate that arthritis is at least exacerbated by bacteria &/or viruses in our joints as we age ...if not a direct cause. After six months of changing my diet and adding supplements I can now walk 2-3 miles every day! Good Luck!
P.S. I use pure Stevia (without the erythritol which may cause heart problems) in my coffee, homemade sweets and baking.

Myself, I studied Theatre at the University of New Mexico, where Flamenco is King. Actually it's the only US university to offer a Flamenco degree.

I'm so happy to see you keeping your stunning, special & precious culture alive & well.
I hope & pray, that you will never ever allow any of it to slip, or get lost, because such beauty once gone, would be a true crying shame.
This was great viewing from start to finish & although I'm no Irish dancer (lol) had me tapping my wee toes.
I cannot wait to get to Ireland for the first time later this year & hopefully, I'll get to see some traditional Irish dancing somewhere whilst there.

@@JulianChild Not being Irish leaves me at a disadvantage. However, I have enjoyed Irish dancing, and my wife and children saw a live performance of Mr Flatley in Lord of the Dance. I am deeply sorry if my remarks offended anyone. At my age visiting Ireland isn't likely. But I and maybe others would like to understand why 'that man's name ' not be mentioned there. Please enlighten us.🙂🤔
@@davidmichigan8542 No, it was wrong of me to make that statement. There's enough negativity out there in the world and I shouldn't contribute to it. My apologies. Flatley just made some unpopular decisions and that's all I'll say about that. His talent, however, was undeniably awesome.
If you really have the desire, there are plenty of bus tours of Ireland and I hear they're quite enjoyable.

That was absolutely fantastic to watch, stirring and beautiful.
It's not just the dance it's the pride in how it's performed within the spine hold's the glory of perfection of a graceful class of movement.

Same. If it adds something, by all means use your hands. But I feel a lot of the time it’s just thrown in there which makes it look sloppy, even…strange.
You know the history right? The English oppressors forbid the Irish language, dancing and traditions ...sometimes on pain of imprisonment or worse. They began to use soft shoes and continued dancing but left out the arms (like the Scots still use) to draw less attraction to themselves. It's actually quite a painful scab on the national Irish psyche and a memory that still haunted my Irish grandmother.

My aunt used to be one of the senior dancers. She hasn’t been able to perform for a while because of her being sick.
I just realized: this is th academy. My aunt doesn’t dance for them but this is the stage that her troupe dances on at the Irish festival my apologies

They need many hours of dedication to dance like they do. It's not easy for them to train to dance so well.
Loved the second group. So well orchestrated, even accommodating their various height -step lengths... ingenious! Kudoes ... simple and beautiful!!

What a fantastic performance by so many obviously very talented dancers. The massive countless hours of rehearsal time these incredible dancers must have put in has resulted in a show that kept me glued to tha seat for the whole perfomance. I could watch it and appreciate the skill and dedication of these dancers for countless hours.
