Ahh that’s amazing 😂😂 I was on Mt. Kenya at the same time. I was climbing Nelion when you were at Austrian Hut. I can even see my hiking boots drying in the window at Austrian.
I remember you brother 😂. This world indeed is a small one. Thank you for passing by and congratulations on climbing Nelion... Please come to Kenya again...

Muchas gracias por los comentarios. Las montañas son un lugar bendito y una vez que empiezas a escalar, nunca paras. Por favor, ven algún día al este de África y escala nuestras montañas. muchas bendiciones
I have enjoyed watching this asante and congratulations 🌹. You did only 2 nights that is Mackinders and Austrian hut? Or did you spend another night after summit? Also which section of this route makes it seem harder than the other routes? Is it the section from met station to Mackinders or from Mackinders to point Lenana? I have trekked to Mackinders and i found it quite challenging but didn't go past Mackinders as that was the goal
Thanks Nancy. I did just 2 nights, one at Mackinders and one at Austrian, then went all the way down. Actually the route is not even that hard as assumed. But in my own opinion I'd say Met station- Mackinders is quite a distance which may be difficult for some people...
@@kiarieexploreske oh great, I can handle Met to Mackinders. How is the terrain from Mackinders to Austrian and Lenana? Was it as steep as the one from met station to Mackinders or more steeper? Am kinda into that route as I found it very scenic inspite of the vertical bogs lol! Am also wondering if sleeping at Austrian wouldn't heighten altitude sickness
@@kiarieexploreskeI’m sure the other continent’s second highet mountains are good places to start.(Ojos Del Salado,Mount Logan,Dykh-Tau,Mount Tyree,& Mandala Peak are good places to start.)
I actually want to first do the seven summits, then the second highest summits.. Have only done Kilimanjaro, so still a long way ahead, but I appreciate the challenge...
Depends on which route you are using. Most of the routes actually don't have huts, plus you can also use the route with huts but opt to camp.. You can be advised further when you decide to embark on the climb. Thanks for the question.
Thanks for the question brother... It is very rare for animals to attack people on the mountain unless you stray away from the normal climbing routes. Then as in their character, wild animals normally attack only when they feel threatened. The animals have also learnt that there are specific routes or paths that are used by humans so they avoid them. The intelligence on these creatures is unbelievable... I hope that answers the question...
The important thing is to go with a guide.. They can advise you on everything and of courrse accompany you on the climb. Importantly, you need rain and warm gear as well as good waterproof boots..
This is awesome. It's the absolute beauty of the views for me
You should climb this mountain, the views are 100 times better than seen on video
Breathtaking stuff. Well done, pal
ahsante kaka, twende the next one

I will definitely try this route, i heard its the most challenging . I did use Sirimon route the last time i was there.
It is not that hard... Only that it is shorter so steeper, but also very scenic... Welcome again and thanks for the feedback...
Beautiful mountains. I would like to visit there one day.
Very much welcome, the mountain will be kind to you
Awesome, passed through that route in 2012 also.
2012 is quite some years ago. So much has probably changed over the years, if you can, pay the mountain a visit again. Thanks for your comment.

Woow that was amazing .How much does it cost kindly
Depends on how many days you spend on the mountain and which route, as well as the tour company you use, but usually between 30k to 40k Ksh...
Good work 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you sir..

Met to Mackinders is not very steep but quite a distance, Mackinders to Austrian is extremely steep, but Austrian to Lenana is a short easy climb.
You started 2022 on a High peak
the whole year should stay that way
Are you going to climb K2 & Mount Logan?
Thanks. Probably one day in the future. I still got so much climbing to do before I get to the level of K2, but it is a dream..

Is a tent necessary for the hike

What about wild animal attacks?

What precautions should one take before taking the hike.or in simply the challenges faced.
