I love how he just offhandedly mentions "oh yeah santa is totally real and he drinks like a fish"
In my personal SCP headcanon, Santa is real, everyone knows he's real, and the Foundation's official policy on him is basically "There's no covering this one up, so let's just make sure he can do his thing without anyone messing with him". My tale "How Dr. Clef Saved Christmas" is pretty much about that relationship.
@@Smapti I mean there is indeed SCP-5925, who is also Fae.
Here in the UK we do not put out milk and cookies for Santa, we pot out alcohol and mince pies .
I'm honestly not surprised at this point. Blackwood has a habit of Having these Fantastically Outlandish stories, and then also referencing even more Fantastical things in said story.

There are two kinds of people: those who love Lord Blackwood, and those who are wrong.
I like how David Blackwood rolls:
“I am half-fairy, 500 years old, searching for a way to ease my suffering”
David: *BLAM!* “You’re dead, that’s good, amen”
So basically, London became Yahrnam for a slightly over a year.

I love how stories like these expand the SCP Universe to way beyond just the scope of the Foundation
It's like a puzzle of sorts
It really lets you feel like there's this vast universe, or multiverse, built around these stories.
The broken god, the sarkites, the daevites, mcandD, the golden horde, corbenic, the pattern screamers, scp1000, the anafabula, the fifthist god, the antimemetics division, the serpents hand, the kind man, the scarlet king, scp3000, pataphysics, oneiroi etc.
The foundation is part of the scp universe. Not the focal point and I appreciate it being this way. It gives way for world building like nothing else. Btw merry Christmas y’all.
@@sussybaka1095 The Golden Horde and The Kind man? Never heard of these before in SCP. Are they apart of some GOI or are the reoccurring anomalies like SCP 1000 and the Fae?

SCP-049: Is cure time
*049 seeing the plague and the devastation, looking at an old photo of himself and 035 from ages past*: "Oh boy, here I go curing again."
The tale does mention that Lord David was a plague doctor; he may very well have crossed paths with the entity that would become 049, assuming it was ever something more human than its current state.
Well David was "a" Plague Doctor. It wouldn't be the most ridiculous coincidence in Foundation history if he was actually THE Plague Doctor somehow.
Lord Blackwood is one of the absolute best characters in the SCP universe. Every story with him is amazing.
“... that, of an elf hunter”
Honestly didn’t see that one coming after the vampire hunter description
Elfs, fairies, and their kin are far more dangerous than any vampire, or maybe even Vampyre, as their peculiar magics and the intricate rules they fallow are far easier to trip over and run afoul of... and with far less wiggle room to reverse course and save one's self, if not absolutely no chance at all...

i really like that this guy has high qual vids along with an upload date consistent enough for me not to sorta forget he exists
I think it's due to the weekly uploads, unique style, and late upload time. For instance he uploads at 12:00 AM on Mondays for me, and with other things I can find a surplus. Even if a person only uploads one video, many others will upload similar content. TheVolgun and similar channels upload similar content, but much slower, as they are more specific and thorough. Overall, it makes mangg's videos that much more of a tweet.
@@SolarRain03 dude the volgan is not more throughouh he just directly reads the article, at least here we have actual effort in summarizing
Actually i recind this for Lord Blackwood because he does just read these
That's gotta be a somewhat terrifying comment for a content creator to read

Also the Fox King cameo was beautiful considering Blackwood's grandson meets them later.
Lord Blackwood should be apart of official canon, not anything lord Blackwood has done, just that the entity of lord Blackwood exists
Pretty sure there is no official cannon... And if you mean like standard numbered SCP I' think he is, just as a neon sea slug edit: although to the slugs credit, his story checks out...

Honestly in a world where a pacific rim Jaeger, an indestructible lizard, aliens, demons, actual wizards, gods, and such exist are you surprised?
I like how a certain author explained humans to the Fey Folk. Like Vodka and Water. Both look the same, both are liquid. But are Very Different.

The author of the blackwood tales is so talented, the characterization and writing style is so wonderfully compelling! I love these so much, thank you for narrating
Makes sense that the number 666 was probably made demonic after the London fire since the actual number of the beast isn’t 666 at all.
What was the number of the beast?
@@htoodoh5770 616
Well it was 1666, not 666; and the "number of the beast" isn't 1666. The number has got more to alchemy, I think, than anything in the Bible (which doesn't even talk about "fallen angels" or satan/lucifer ect. That was in the book of Enoch, which is in the Tanakh and the Red Sea Scrolls. I've read the Bible front cover to the back; and there's mentions of devils and evil spirits but not "the Devil"; there's mention of Angels (which are bloody terrifying!) but no fallen angels. All the really cool stuff from the Judeochristian mythos was left on the cutting room floor during the rise of the Roman-Catholic Church in 380 AD and their adaption of the Tanakh into the Bible.
Pity, really, because Enoch came up with some _really_ crazy shit!
Satan is mentioned in the book of Iyov (which I think you call Job in EN). But yes, except that, n9 other mentions whatsoever
@@CalamityM No, the number of the beast isn’t 1666, obviously. I’m assuming that’s where most of the inspiration was ultimately borrowed from, though.

I love the Blackwood storylines, most of all the land of the unclean. It gives the SCP so much more live and are really fun to read or hear in this Adventure form.
bruh this made my night and i just drunkenly had a nerf battle for the first time in a decade
Ooooh yeah just what I needed working a double on Christmas!
This is one of the best tales yet imo, though the postscript was a little disappointing to me. Injecting fairy blood into the Blackwood family is like giving Batman a superpowered ancestor; it's more exciting to think of Blackwood as a resourceful and capable Indiana Jones type, without needing to be marked as special because of a bloodline.
Just my opinion, obviously.
Personally i feel like the fairy bloodline must be extremely diluted at that point where it’s useless
@@ArbyTV its only real "use" is the long lives his family members tend to have.
I would love an entire book series just around the adventures of Lord Blackwood and his family.
Lord Blackwood content is by far my favorite content and I mean by farrrr. I don’t know why but I love all the stories so much, land of the unclean was fucking phenomenal, if you know of any scp stories that are similar or equally as good please let me know, I’ve heard most of the mainstream stuff like scp 5000 and ouroboros, typing “scp stories” into UA-cam doesn’t come up with much so I’m fiending for some new stories rn since I’ve pretty much heard a good majority of the regular scp description videos

Eh.. pretty much.
So was 049 there as well?
Yep.
I so do love your voice in these stories. Keep up the great work and happy new year.
The end reminds me a little of that of the shadow over Innsmouth, with the main character discovering his own relation to the strange group of people who were the subjects of his writings. Love the vid!
Your Lord Blackwood episodes are great keep it up!
So...what this tale is implying, is that Lord Theodore Thomas Blackwood, CBE, 7th Viscount of Winchester, Explorer and Naturalist...might be half Fae??!!
Exactly. The Factory and the Children of the Night will be after his ass.
These days, he's the 8th Viscount of Westminister. I originally referred to him as the 7th and referred to him as the 8th later on because I'd forgotten what I wrote earlier. I've chosen not to fix it one way or the other because those kind of inconsistencies are part and parcel of the pulp adventure stories that inspired Lord Blackwood, and because he was never meant to have a consistent backstory or internal timeline in the first place.
I have not been hyped for something this much in a long time. Thanks for the upload.
Thank you so much for ever single one of these videos. You are one of the few UA-cam i have watched everything because all your content is absolutely quality.
