Glad to know that you like the design Jerad, keep up the good work my man 🍻🤙
👊 👊 thanks Jerry great design
One of my favorite two sun knife. It’s the only twosun that I got in 14c28n and in m390. Everything about this knife makes no sense. The handle you would think is not comfortable but it’s so comfy. The grinds on the blade look off but handle cuts good. And that clip seems huge but works perfectly. Yea big fan of this knife.
Thank you for the look at this one. I like that blade shape for some reason. 14c28 is great!
The TS 229 is such an awesome looking knife! It is definitely one of the TwoSuns that I want to get. Great video once again Jerad!
For a budget steel I like the edge refinement you can achieve. I don't love how easy it scratches.
Yeah I don't like that either, I wish they would just stick to stone wash or do heavier satin
I ended up buying 5 Two Sun knives after seeing this video. Excellent materials and quality for around $100 bones. You can not beat this amazing value, IMO.
Absolutely agree on 14C28N. I usually get somewhere just shy of D2 performance out of them. It is pretty easy to scratch though which is why I'm not a huge fan of the satin finish that TwoSun uses on them most of the time. Stonewashing works great, and they do a great job when stonewashing, but the vast majority don't offer that finish. At least it's easy enough to stonewash them after the fact.
Just snagged one in M390. Been trying for a while. Thanks for the review! 🗡️👍😁
Nice!!!
Great looking knife! It almost makes me want it even with it being less than my personal minimum. Me personally I like my blade between 3.5" an four". An overall around 8". The Kubey Raven an both the Civivi Astricus, an Praxis rock! Thanks Jarrod love you channel brother!
I'm happy that at least one of the knives I sent rocked your world brother! 😂 🤣
Have a great 4th weekend my friend! Tell Kara I said hey!
👊 🇺🇸
Just made a bid on a M390 version on Ebay! Good review sir! ✌
Great knife mines absolutely glassy smooth best knife of all the 400 I own and I'm trying to get the same in m390
Dude I love that style of knife
Got my first twosun TS16-M390 and I am really impressed with the action, fit and finish, and materials. This one looks awesome and I really like the materials in it. The Mora Garburg is a bushcraft knife using 14c28n with a HRC of 57-58 and is known as one of the toughest bushcraft knives in its price range. 14C28N can be treated between 55-62HRC and Edge retention is increased with higher HRC making it one of the best budget stainless steels in my opinion.
Absolutely! I'd personally love to see a custom maker push it to its limits and see what it's highest potential is, the ts16 is great, being one of there oldest models twosun has come along way, it's still a great knife though
@@NeevesKnives got the TS16-M390 because of the thicker edge as I Do alot of woodworking and some carving on some hard wood along with some EDC stuff. Thinking about making it a full scandi grind once it dulls on me. Keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable.
Already ended up buying the TS191 on account of your recent TwoSun videos, looks like this one is next on the list.
Awesome thank you! 👊
Very reminiscent of the Subvert, really like it!
Yeah it does I'm surprised I didn't see that before, something about the subvert has always been attractive to me but I've never tried it
I'm able to deploy by pinching the blade with a slight travel down for grip, and doing it all one hand. The deployment I'm describing, does anyone knows if it has a name?
ODC4EDC tested twosun m390 and it was improved after around 2019 to 2020 iirc.
Wowww, I need this knife!
I just picked up a T177 off Knafsale and I think this will be my next purchase. I'm BLOWN AWAY by TwoSun's quality for the money.
Yesterday, I bought the Kansept Foosa. I had been checking every day on Amazon until results appeared. I bought it so quick, I didn't even noticed until i got the notification "Thank you for your purchase." 😎
Edit: I got the "Yellow G10 Handle."
Nice!!
I don’t have a whole lot of knives, nothing like what you guys have. I have maybe 25 folders, roughly, give or take 3 or 4 counting the cheap ones that might be in the truck or toolbox, etc... But when it comes down to what knife that I believe is built the best, it is a Twosun. It is an older model that’s all titanium construction. It’s D2 steel, but that’s not what I’m referring to... The knife just feels like a tool that will be around for a lifetime, and then some. Like you say, it’s the tolerance that does it... I saw this knife on eBay and wanted to buy it so bad. And if I could had bought it, and I hadn’t seen you talk about it yet, I too, would had sent it over to you for review. Without even handling it yet, I knew that we both were going to agree on this one. Despite its crazy and unusual style, I knew it was BA AF!! Lol
I haven’t handled a Reate knife yet... I hope it’s as impressive as the Twosun. But, as of right now, I’m pretty sure there’s no way there anywhere near as a good deal. Lol... Now I’m listening to you nit pick and that’s funny...
Pound for pound build quality vs $ Twosun is leading the pack 100 percent Reate is fantastic and they do an amazing job some more than others just like any company including twosun, some of there knives you can kind of feel where the extra $ went, but many of there models it's impossible to see 400$ more in build quality.
Looks like a cross between the Spyderco Tuff and Subvert!
Yeah it does
Interesting design. I have a TS72 in the mail.
I think Real Steel does a good job with their 14c28n. I have a number of their models and they all perform well.
Btw...looks like CRK has run out of their s35vn. Got a large sebenza 31 today in macassar ebony in s45vn. Zero bladeplay which I know was an issue when they first released them.
Nice! I'm supposed to get one of those in for Sharpening soon, see how it compares to hinderers s45
Love me a good TwoSun. Awesome looking edge on that one!
I remember when Ruike put 14c28n on almost all their knives. I have a Hussar and two P-801’s (one is the blacked out version) and all three have 14c28n. I love that steel.
Edit* What the hell happened to Ruike? Have they put anything new out?
I know that had so much potential, the 801 imo is one of the best budget knives still, I might even buy another one, seems like they gave up after they made the two titanium models, when they could've done so much more
@@NeevesKnives I agree. Great channel btw. Love your videos.
I noticed on White Mountain Knives they had this one in 14C28N as well as in M390. The 14C28N actually was the more expensive one. I don’t get that. Why would 14C28N make the knife $15 more expensive? Great knife review though.
I haven’t seen the knives but I’d imagine it was something more that had to do with the price. Handle material maybe? Idk.
More people rather get their 14c28n, only because it's done really well, so people tend not to spend much more for the m390, people really like there 14c28n, in reality though there m390 does obviously perform better so I'd personally rather have the m390 but I'm equally as happy with there 14c28n but given the choice I'd pick m390, even though it's not the best m390 in the world, unless I was actually wanting n g toughness because 14c is far tougher
I just seen that as well too.
Your review convinced me to grab one but unfortunately couldn’t find any in 14C28N (also one of my favorite). Just landed one in M390 for $98…
Well he'll that's even better good for you!
@@NeevesKnives Is it though?? Idk if I trust TwoSun with heat treating M390. My understanding is that 14C is a much easier steel to HT properly in large batches 🤷🏻♂️ But then again it ain’t like I’m cutting endless amounts of cardboard everyday. Lol.
@@hovan2yourjunk Your going to for sure get s30v edge retention at worst , and anyone would pay far more $ that what you did for s30v and the titanium fit finish exc.. so for the price it's a win win
@@NeevesKnives Bang!!
Sorta reminds of a Strider
I love this design but its too big for me. Wish for a 3.2 or 3.0 blade
Soulless would b a sick name!
Right!!
All good but it's a PITA to sharpen that edge
I can imagine Lefty doing that whole flick, pause, “okay, okay,” flicking it again, then nitpicking the sh*t out of it. 😂
Speaking of steels, TS has these in m390 now or too.
And Knaftastic EDC has a video where he took off that part of the handle on his. Looks slick.
I'm considering sending it off to him. He already told me he would do that same mod for me.
Lefty can get awfully tough in his reviews for sure.
@@abc456f YES! But he’s a cool dude for sure.
@@timbo4374 Rodney is a great guy. He gets a lot of enjoyment from the work he does. I believe your knife would be in good hands.
Hey Timbo if you want that removed I can doit for you if you really want it done
Twosun 🥰
🌞☀
Same designer as the TS264?
Nope, that one was designed by Mazwan, this was by me.
👊
@@jellyjerry3686 Outstanding work! Twosun has two great designers and you both have a place in my growing collection! Keep up the good work!
This would be a perfect knife if the handle wasn't so damn wide. It feels like a baseball bat in the pocket
