I will give you a general idea of what you should buy if you are really interested in learning+earning from editing (I am kinda like tharun himself, who learned editing by trial and error)... Firstly, If you are someone who does/will do most of your work inside your home... And do not need to take your editing device with you everywhere... Buy a Desktop, not a Laptop, "A DESKTOP". To Elaborate more: If you want to work remotely, buy a desktop... But, If you think that you need to go to your client's home, or want to edit in your college or something... Then Laptop is better than Desktop. In terms of price v/s specs... Desktop is always better. Now that you have decided on laptop or desktop... Let's see what specs you should look for... If I have to say what is a good price to have a smooth editing experience... I would say "80k Rs." But if you just want to get started somehow... 40-50k PCs work as well... But you will soon start to feel you need more specs for better quality work. Assuming that you seriously want to make a career out of it... Here are the bare minimum specs you should look for: 1) 16 GB RAM (8 GB RAM is ok to get started with... But in 2024, I really recommend to buy at least a 16 GB RAM) 2) at least an 6/8 core CPU of i5/r5 with as much lastest Generation model you can find 3) an RTX 3060 (RTX 2060 is good as well, and for Laptops, RTX 3050 works as well... Considering most people can't afford to go past 80k Rs) 4) 1 TB SSD Storage (512 GB SSD Storage works too... But it can get full pretty quickly depending on what kind of video you are editing)(in case case, 1 TB SSD is a safe choice, but for laptops...
