Oh man, that was fun!! Loose AF, but fun! The gate was closed (fire stuff or something) so I made it a three descent version by taking Sidewinder back down to the bench and climbing back up Three Bitches to hit Washout. Sessioned the jumps for a bit. Finally got the nerve up to send it on the tree jump. Got a bit overzealous pedaling into it and totally hucked it into the flat/next roller 😐😂🤦🏽♂️ Thanks again for the videos 👍🏽
Just followed your guide this past Saturday. You weren't lying about the singletrack from the water tower (3:56) That stuff was sooo loose! Still had a blast riding! Thanks for the vid! ps. I did miss a turn, it's at 8:17 mark... I didn't realize you had turned around and now facing where you came from (on the right)
Were your bars carbon? I just started running the EVOC hip pack this year. I love it! I'd go without a pack at all, but the new YT Capra doesn't come with a bottle cage, and there isn't a place to put one. That's ok though, I'm digging the hip pack a lot. It works well for me because I don't drink a lot of water on my usual 10 to 15 mile rides.
They were carbon bars but I think it was a fluke thing that happened. They came down hard right onto a rock edge. And yeah I like the hip pack too - got so used to a backpack I keep thinking I forgot something. Ha - thanks for watching Lee!
For a little while before they put in the bridges, there was just a little kicker to gap the creek. Marshall has been really pretty battered by the rain
So thinking about trying this loop. But I’m a bit confused by the beginning section. After the first climb to the water tower, and then that descent. When you cross the fire road (twice I believe) and then turn left. Are you just backtracking up the road towards where you just came from?
Well thumbs up right at the beginning for breaking the handle bar and surviving . That's great to know that you can start from up there and park. It cuts out the fun stuff on the bottom but then again I'm sure the creeks are full and the bottom bracket gets all that stuff in it. Had that problem bfr riding Marshall a bit too much . Cool Stuff Tony Thanks !
8:05 is where the mountain lion ran across the fire road. That one roams Marshall & Webb Canyon area and I think is male, and then there is a female that had 2 cubs last spring up in the Mt Baldy area. They avoid people, but love pets/snacks and come creeping into neighborhoods sometimes. It's freaky.
I've been watching some videos of the area and after watching yours I think its time to go check it out. I might have to follow your Strava route as well!
Hey outsider. I just got done riding this trail. And someone added a new feature on the trail. 3-4 ft kicker or ramp. It's passing the golf course. Also the dirt is really good right now. It's been maintain recently. You should go back
That first section with the hike a bike is actually called pain and joy. It's well known but not among those that only ride Marshall once in a while. I found a true hidden and possibly illegal trail and looking to explore it at Marshall. Hasn't been ridden at all but I'll map it out later. Great vid thanks man
I went with the same bars. I think this was a fluke accident and wanted the same feel again. I don’t worry too much about that I think it’s rare. Thanks George!
This looks like an amazing route. I always ride up as far as I can from the school, then ride back down but loop this look looks super doable for me. Thanks for the great info!
Tony so cool to see you riding in my back yard!! I have been riding these trails since 87!! You need to set up a group ride that would be cool where ever you want!! I would be down and first beer on me!!
Keep doing what your doing bro!👍
🤝
Cool ride, we rode it a few days ago for the first time and foolishly HAB DH at 11:28
BTW, the strata link is pointing to a different ride..
I don’t have a Strava link here. Thanks

Gotcha - yah still a work in progress it looks like after the last few months.
Awesome vid. I've been there several times but haven't ventured down these trails. How do you get to the water tower? Subscribed

Do u think u could link the video with the mountain lion sighting? Thxxxx
I don’t have that actual footage.
@@TheOutsiderMTB oh ok thanks!
5:17 Cut to a different trail 😂
The Strava route is for Chino Hills, not Marshall Canyon. Sucks, I was going to try and follow this.
Here you go - updated as well. Enjoy: www.strava.com/activities/2069938449
Excellent stuff Mate.
Thank you Mark. 👌
You still doing the stickers?
Only if you see me on the trail. I’ll have them with me.😉

Thanks! And yes - I did think about those crazy stream crossings when paring up there. I'm sure they're like rivers right now. haha

Go for it!
is that a new truck?
Yup - introduced it a couple of videos ago. New Tacoma TRD Off Road. ;)
Even though I probably won't ever go to marshal canyon or socal anytime soon, I still enjoy your videos!!🤘🤘
HAHA -Thanks Niccolo! What part of the world are you in?
@@TheOutsiderMTB northern California 😂😂 but I can't drive myself
Ahhhhh - you’ve got some great stuff out your front door too! 👊🏼
@@TheOutsiderMTB yup I was just at demo last weekend
You should review webb canyon in claremont, ca. Its right next to marshal canyon but the ridge over. Lots of dh/enduro trails with fun easy jumps!
I’ve heard good things!

Neat stuff, that tree jump was cool!
Fun little section - thanks!
This is mine and my buddies local loop. You'll notice us close to the top on Strava. ;-) We'd love to ride with you sometime!
Good stuff!
@@TheOutsiderMTB in all seriousness. Love the videos. Great content & I always use them as a preview before I go to a new place. Keep it up! 🤘👍🤙
That's no dead end, That's a water tower wall ride.
Haha. Was a joke Thomas. 😉
Raceface set you up with a new bar? It's so nice to not have to wear a backpack, I'm working to go packless on my morning rides.
They didn’t but The Path Bike Shop had the same bar and gave me a great deal. In and out the same day. Loving the packless rides too man. 👌🏼
How's the bike?! First question after every crash🤙🏽
Always. 😉
Hey, nice video !
Do u also have the problem with the tiny cable fixers popping out of the frame and won’t stay where they should ?
Thanks! On the bottom section yeah. The top section seems solid though.
It was such a slow speed crash. Wierd the bars broke. When I come out and ride with you I'll get a sticker 👍👍 Another great trail guide!
Sounds good! And yeah - was kind of a fluke crash.
wow that’s a great start, never knew there was a trail behind the stables! will do this on my next ride! more vids brotha! 😎🤘👊
Hell yeah Jeff - get at it bud!
Did you go with carbon bars again? Do you have any worries about how vulnerable bars are, all bars? Love Pip and his video appearances.
I went with the same bars. I think this was a fluke accident and wanted the same feel again. I don’t worry too much about that I think it’s rare. Thanks George!
Sick Video. I was just there Saturday & Sunday with David who is a Sick MTB Rider Built that Ladder Bridge for everyone to enjoy 😉 🤘🏽
Just med David up at Skypark this past weekend. Solid!
The bridge is awesome! Thanks
Another great video Tony 👍🏽 love the Pip footage before each video hilarious 😂. Also got my stickers today thank you 🙏🏽
Awesome and thanks for always tuning in. Glad you got the stickers too!
Great video!
Going to try this trail next.
Me and my brother Curt, met you last Saturday at SkyPark.
It was great meeting and talking to you!
Skye :)
Hey Skye! I remember - great netting you guys. Let me know what you think. And thanks!
I usually go from oak Mesa to the gazebo, then the Claremont Loop, then down to the jumps, then to the tunnel, and finally the park.
That's a good one too!
Why do you keep saying right when you go left????
Nice recovery ride. Pip was hunting mountain lions me think. 😉
Thanks Dan! Damn right he was. 🙃
