The Story of KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON Poster

Keep Calm And Carry On! You have no doubt seen this poster before, but what does it mean? You have probably seen the many hilarious spinoffs of the original, but do you know the reason for the creation of the original Keep Calm and Carry on poster? Let’s go back to the beginning of W.o.r.l.d W.a.r T.w.o in 1939. At this point, Great Britain knew they were on the brink of w.a.r, so the British Ministry of Information designed the Keep Calm and Carry on poster as part of a series of three “Home Publicity” posters. Here are the other two lesser known posters. The first says, “Freedom is in peril. Defend it with all your might.” The other states, “Your courage, your cheerfulness, your resolution will bring us victory.” Each poster showed the slogan under a representation of the Tudor Crown (a symbol of the British state). They were intended to be distributed to strengthen morale in the event of a w.a.r.t.i.m.e disaster, such as m.a.s.s b.o.m.b.i.n.g of major cities using e.x.p.l.o.s.i.v.e.s and p.o.i.s.o.n g.a.s, or even the possibility of i.n.v.a.s.i.o.n and o.c.c.u.p.a.t.i.o.n by Germany. British citizens would have a constant reminder to Keep Calm and Carry on in the face of opposition and hardship.

In recent times, I've discovered a poster on the Internet. I suspected it was British propaganda during World War II. The reason I say that is, because the slogan is "Don't Help the Enemy! Careless Talk May Give Away Vital Secrets". It's displayed under a Tudor Crown. The slogan has a similar design "style" typeface to Keep Calm and Carry On. The poster I'm referring to should've been mentioned in this video.

These brand new issue of "Keep Calm and Carry On" posters are produced in various sizes from A1 down to A4. *The money raised by primary sales will go directly to the National Health Service.
The A3 and A4 posters (size in inches is 8.27" x 11.69", while for A3 it is 11.69" x 16.53" ) only are available at this time, when ALL sizes will be available when the printers go back to work?
The most recognised poster is taken from the example produced by the Government of the time at the outbreak of the second world war.
The difference being that the current King's crown (of that period) was employed in the design. The 2020 design incorporates the present Queen E11R crown.
We do hope that the great British public will now buy these posters which come in various sizes as shown here on eBay.
So please adhere to our Government's medical advise to stay away from public places and keep your distance, and above all to always wash your hands thoroughly when returning from the outdoors.
By conforming to this sound advice we will overcome and get through this hopefully by the end of this year... or sooner!
