Worth watching:
The companies making the pesticides should be first to be regulated.
Nobody should underestimate the seriousness of losing the bees. They literally feed us.
I wish the majority of rich corporations that are mainly responsible for the amount of what is happening should pay for it all. Wishful thinking I know. . . smh
We need pollinators!! Heck, if folks would quit with these turf lawns and planted native species on their properties, so much would change for the better
Remember a Bumble Bee is Bigger than a Honey Bee. While both pollinate, the lives of them are quite different.
As a kid on the farm in KS bumblebees were larger than other bees. Bumblebees today aren’t much bigger than honeybees. 🙁 SHOULD motivate people…..unfortunately people today are indifferent to the harm we’re causing to Mother Earth…..
If the real problem is pesticide, and the coming changes make it expensive to kill one bee but have nothing to say about pesticide, the changes will be a streaming pile of fail.
PSA: If anyone decides to take up beekeeping, please make sure that whatever species you choose to keep is native to your area. Non-native bee species can out-compete native species and can spread diseases that native species aren't as resistant to.
I have an organic homestead, the first couple of years we had a lot of crop damage from insects. But as the numbers of bad bugs grew, so the good bugs moved in as there was a food source for them. Crop loss is almost negligible now. We don't need to spray insect killer everywhere.
Isn't it great that greed is killing us all.. smh!!
Another reason why these days, I often find myself embarrassed to call myself human...
“If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would only have four years of life left.”―Albert Einstein
Bees are our canary in a coal mine
"America's profit motivator tends to undercut our better nature"... ain't that the truth! Put that on a shirt... save the bees!
Without bees in our world, we could just end up starving, for the foods they help to flourish.
Hey Internet people, the dude in the shed was talking about both species of bees. Some of you seem a little confused in the comments. Thanks for bringing attention to this matter Beau✌️
Here in Wisconsin we have "no mow May" in order to allow pollinators an opportunity to do their thing!
Not too many talk of this but a German study shows that we've lost 75% by volume of all insects. This terrifying! Ask Truckers how little they have to clean their wind shield compared to 30 yrs ago.
Meanwhile, I'm in Arkansas, trying to convince locals that bees are in danger in general, and that's horrifically bad, because without them, their grocery store is going to look a whole lot different. And I'm laughed at. One thing is for certain. I didn't properly appreciate the character Bobby Singer on Supernatural until I got older. At least now I've got Beau. Thankfully I have an abundance of flowers here and I saw around 4 of these fellas just today.
