- Group Camp & Paddle Event - River Tees - Aquaglide Deschutes
Our 5th group Caddle & Pamp event was organised by @markokeeffe8361 by the River Tees. We drove to Neasham and paddled back to where we camped.

Your video making skills have really improved enjoying all vids, this one rocks 🎉
Aw, cheers, thanks for that 👍😁
Nice one! 👍
Cheers buddy 👍 this one was down to you 😁
looks absolutely brilliant
The only snag with it, and you might have picked up on this at the last weir, is the skeg mount protrudes, so if you're skegless in shallow water it might still catch. When I did the River Lune trip last year (the one with the giant pink flamingo) I used the AG Expedition packraft and that has the same skeg mount. It took some hammer in the shallows but suffered no more damage than a few scratches. It's just something to be aware of :D
Looked a good camp and paddle. Nice to see the Bobcat again.. definitely more options when you can sleep in your van as well though!
Absolutely, it's great having those options. I think you'll both love and hate the tent I ended up taking on The Big Trip 😅
And Kev, if you get the opportunity, start a wild camping group. Seriously, starting this group ,it's one of the, if not THE best thing I've ever done 👍😁
👍👍that looked like a fun choppy paddle.
It was indeed a lot of fun Liz😁👍
That cat kayak looks interesting!!!
He had it in 'fishing' mode. I've tried it and didn't like it. However he took it out the next day in its narrower, speedier mode.
I live near here and never tried to paddle it as none of my close friends are that bothered, but after watching your video think it might be for the best. Lots of dangerous spots on the Tees. Had a work colleague have a hard shell ripped off him after he got stuck in some trees.
It's not that bad, in fact I'd say it was probably livelier on this stretch only because we've had so much rainfall this year. I'm guessing they're are a lot of shallows normally.
My joints make the same sound 😂
I know! 😅
That looked a great nights camping plenty of fun ,what was the new kayak you were using ,i throughly enjoyed watching that 😂
Thanks Brian, yeah it was a lot of fun. I was in the Aquaglide Deschutes 110 👍😁
We switched to using the AG performance seat in our Deschutes and Cirrus and it was a game changer.
Is the performance seat the one that's in the Chelan?
I've been out in it again today - 20 miles in just under 7½hrs, including pitstops. It's seriously impressive!
By the way, I've left that AG FB group. The admin deleted my evidence based posts just because my findings were contrary to a manufacturers suggestions. That makes her and the group non-progressive, so I'm out.

Hey…this info sounds like something I should know! I was so happy to finally see your trip with the 110. As I had written you earlier, I have the 130. And naturally, just days before you posted this, I had to do a shakedown paddle on a seven mile creek (that would have been helped with a few more inches of water!). Lots of opportunity (also known as NEED) to maneuver quickly due to current and obstructions and current. When the water was calm, we had a significant headwind. Great learning experience. Without the skeg, it wasn’t so bad. Better than expected. If AG would have put a bit more $ into it, it would be ideal. I will add some D rings. I am also interested in the AG performance seat referenced here. I add pads now to lift myself up higher.
@@kathydomokos8837 it's such a cracking little boat! Yesterday I took it on a bus to a nearby town and paddled it 20 miles back down the river to my home town. It was brilliant 👍😁

So glad!! I sometimes thought I should have gotten the 110, but…who knows. Maybe one of my friends will decide to get it. I kinda like the fact that I don’t have to worry about the floor getting a puncture and deflating! And pumping it up is way easy compared to the drop stitch floor. Trade offs…always trade offs! Anyway…I will keep watching to see what else you come up with! Love your honest real-world reviews.
@@kathydomokos8837 Cheers 👍 I love the low maintenance aspect... The fact that it's all one piece with no separate chambers you have to remove. A removable drop stitch floor panel whilst undoubtedly easier to dry, is still almost as faffy as a double skinned boat.
So how do you do this. Does one of you drive ahead and pick you all up and take you back to base or do you paddle back up against the flow ?
We did this in small groups. For example I took Dave in my van with both our gear in it. When we'd finished Steve took 3 of us back to get our vehicles.
Hi, been watching some of your videos 👍very good.
I'm just starting out (not been on the water yet)... did you go to a club or just teach yourself? Thanks.
Hi Robert, I'm glad you're enjoying the vids 😁
I'm self taught. However you can learn a lot from watching others better than you, so in our group The Machine is the most experienced and I've learned a lot from watching him. Starting the group I'm out with here has been the best thing over ever done.
Whereabouts are you based?
@MoreThanJustaCleaner Cleckheaton... I bought a 3 man itiwit inflatable kayak... (family of 3).. looking forward to trying it out.
@@Yorkshire_Robert would you like to join our group? If so find my contact details on my home page and drop me a message with your number and I'll add you too the WhatsApp groups where we chat and arrange meets 😁
Great video 👍
@@bobp5885 thanks buddy 👍😁
