The Field of Rusty Dreams - Secret Junkyard Stash
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 чер 2019
- In the past you could drive through any town in American and find the local junk yard for pulling parts for your hot rod. Majority of those yards had a secret hidden stash or "Field of Dreams" that was the junk yard owners private stash. With the closing of the majority of junk yards, those private stashes have been either sold or crushed. We at Iron Trap Garage are going to take you through one of the few renaming "Field of Dreams" that has been hiding right under our noses. So follow along as we show off all the cars in the private stash, and talk about a few of them that strike our fancy. Let us know in the comments below what you think which ones deserve to be saved!!!! Also if you think you know us well enough, guess which 3 cars we are going to be pulling first and you could win a T-Shirt!!!

I'm 72 years of age and it brought so many memories of yesterday. That was very kind of you to do that. I know hat a large percentage will be crushed because of metal fatigue. I wouldn't be the man for that just cause I see hubcaps and trim pieces that can't be found any other way. I live in alaska so my seeing them happened today. My brother who passed on the seventh of last month crushed about forty acres of this kind of stuff here in alaska where it likely won't be found again. Not impossible but very unlikely. Thank you for sharing the memories and not being insensitive.
Watchin the coupe roll down the road is a thrill.
Wish these could have been bought 40 years ago to restore. Sad to see some beyond repair. Still some cool stuff.
Love all those gems .. looking forward to the video when you pull them out. The drone really captures the field of rusted dreams.
The narration and production value on this episode are top notch! Love these old salvage yard hunting type of videos and this is probably the best one I’ve seen from anyone.
Marvellous, what a treat to see.
That Willys Jeep looks way better than the one I am rebuilding!
Kim Kiriniki....what year and body style you workin on? My Dad just finished his 1954 Cj-3b, Ford K-Code small block and all, and we're now gettin ready to start on my 1949 Cj-2a that doesn't need much at all, but unfortunately has a 231 Buick V6 in it...I'm a Ford man, but can't afford to switch it all over as of yet....
The buick is a good fit for those, but if you don't want it I bet you can find someone that does
This was a great video. I have been pulling my old trucks out of the bushes over the last couple months so that I could do an inventory video to put on my UA-cam Channel. The video was awesome, but seeing the way a lot of those old rides had rotted away right where they were sitting has motivated me to take my Video camera outside right now and film them where they sit without waiting any longer. Thank you for inspiring me....and I would be taking that Super-Deluxe home if I were you. It may have two doors two many, but that thing looks way too solid and complete to be a road block device. Besides, a full back seat and rear doors just means more friends can come along for the fun. Peace-Out. -Rick
there used to be an old junk yard like this near where i used to live ,the best time to go there was midwinter when all the grass/weeds/trees hed died off so you could see what was lurking in there, many times you had to dig up those rare parts,i miss those days great fun !!!!!!!!
Hey, a new opening sequence! Love it!!!
Beautiful and sad.
Hopefully some can be saved.
Thanks.
The 39/40 Fords need to come out, the F1’s and the 32.
Hey! we're not chain smoking cigarettes watching your videos we're smoking joints. . .Great video!
Puff Puff Pass! Haha. Thanks for watching mannnnnn! -Matt/ITG
Just seeing that Monte Carlo make me appreciate my Monte Carlo that I just restored so much more
Loved the footage of that old hotrod!! Thank you!
I loved the way you had to sit in the huckster with your arm out.
Cool video! Very professional! Loved it! This definitely is my favorite Channel! Thanks so much.
Huckster, 35, custom F100 and 41 for awesome parts. I know that's four, but hey, it was cool. Buick , for parts, as consolation.
Enjoyed the walk thru glad you are saving some cars. Also glad you did not get snake bit.
Great visit.great video AND great music.Nobody can top it.One day, these cars will be crushed I guess.Just takes ONE Developer with a Condo Village in mind
I used to love exploring old junk yards
32 Ford truck, 40's Ford deluxe & "Ford f100 custom. Cheers this was cool touring the junkyard.
Love the still shots. Nice camera work.
Love the IH
So I'm gonna say the
50 IH COE and the
32 Ford truck BB
41 Ford Super Deluxe 4dr.
Good vid.
It's nice that they saved them, but to let them sit to rot is really sad. Thanks for taking us along.
There’s some great salvageable cars in that swamp. Thanks for the tour. Can’t wait for upcoming videos of you guys pulling them out. You might need a helicopter for the really stubborn ones.
Awesome love the salvage yard treasure hunts.
It's been my favorite thing to do since I was a kid! -Matt/ITG
Wow Mike great footage of Matt cruising down the highway, looked like the start of some kind of Hot Rod movie. I would say you guys will be pulling some of the 30's vehicles and that International Harvest COE. Mike let us know what the wife says about you putting that T truck in your front yard? haha Great video, sad to see all that Tin rotting away...
Thanks for watching Robbie, we're trying to get more cinematic with these videos. Hope you enjoy! -Matt/ITG
I agree!! Great work Mike!!
I've been in places like this and always feel the ghosts walking beside me. Good vibes.
If you didn't have it before, you must have earned the street cred , with the powers that be, when you rolled up in that rat. This video should put you over the top. Wishing you continued success.
#1...COE, #2...41 Ford Deluxe, and #3 and last but not least the "lowered" 4 door Oldsmobile.
Excelent video. I would like to cry. "Quisiera llorar, muchos autos que se pudieron salvar"
You guys are awesome..😎🇧🇲
If the vechiles meant so much to their owners then you would think would not like to see them go to the crusher ; But to live on with someone who could restore and love them as once the owner of them has. Great collection guys hope all are loved & saved from extinction.
The cinematography at the start of the video is your best work yet Mike . Matt I agree that Ranchero with the cap was ugly! Those Heavy Chevys are worth some money now. The F1 and the 5 window 3100 , 66 67 nova, mustang fastback ! Wow
I'm SO glad I live in Arizona.....
David skaufel David skaufel
Pennsylvania is a very rusty rusted state. Everything here in Pennsylvania rusts. Even the trees.
Great work Matt and Mike! I had never seen your channel before, but I just thumbs up, subscribed and shared it!
We live in the York area and I hope we get to see you at some of the car stuff someday!
Great work guys!!
Sweet video.....again. I think the 3 choices will be the IH COE, the Super Deluxe sedan and one of the F1/F100 trucks. Keep 'em coming boys!
AWESOME VIDEO
Im drooling over that IH COE O.O
IH Cabover, the 41 SuperDelux and the Huckster is my guess. Ever hear of Friendship Junkyard in Tabernacle NJ? It's dry in the Pines but a lot of old junk was stacked on top of each other. Back in the day a little weed or budweiser got you parts. Today the family still operates it.
Was there many years ago! Haven’t been back in 10-15 years! It was a neat place! -Matt/ITG
Those guys are experts you can see at a glance, but I do apprciate the vid
Bulrushs = swamp, not haven, Matt. LOL. Mike's analysis was correct. Haha
I'd would pull the 5 window Chevy. Those trucks are getting harder to find. IH Coe would make a cool rollback hauler n hard to find also. I'd love to explore old scrap yards myself.
Keep up the good work
I like your channel one of the ones I've watched the most.
The F-100 with the tilt front end, looks like it has a Fairlane grille, next to it looks like a Buick Wildcat. I like those early 60's Wildcats
CAb overs for two vehicle to events [ramp truck I guess]. Absolutely cool. Should maybe get your Dad and some of the older guys and start getting a collection of the tall tails of their era of fun with gassers and rods. Love to hear Kawalski stories [probably raced Don Garlits back in the 60's]. lol Or was at some of the same events. Wonder sometimes about taking two of those 39 girlls and melding them into an extended grill up the front of a custom extended girlls up the front of either a 39 or just a custom grill to use on something crazy.
😲 amazing
Great video 👍 Great music 🤐
As soon as I seen the 1950 IH COE @ 3:02 I knew this was going to be great...
1970 Monte Carlo behind ugly Ford Ranchero...
Joe, i had a 53 IH COE it was an RC-160, single axle tractor. wish i still had it.
@@SchnelleKat
Kool as Hell...
56 Ford F100s....make a shop truck out of the pieces! F1s could also be a shop truck candidate IMO.
Hello my friend i am from Indonesia. Good car.
Hope you grabbed the 32, and the 35 pickup I love those😁👍
I'm glad the owner is selling some cars. It would be a shame to allow the vehicles to rot away since there are so many parts left. I'd pull the white T-Bird out, if the body is not missing below the door sills. Thanks for showing. It will be interesting watching you remove vehicles. Sharpen your chainsaw!
It's a hard pill to swallow. Those cars and trucks need a real home.
great that they were saved back in the day but sad that they were left to rot in that spot
As a 1950 L-112 "Binder" owner, I'm partial to the I-H cab-over. The LC-160 (1950-52) is apparently only distinguished from the RC-160 series (1953-55) by the former having dual rear windows. I can't quite read it, but the model series appears below the International die cast emblem.
Pennsylvania Jones is at it again! Take the 32 truck, the 35, depending on if its repairable, or got some good stuff on it, and hmmmm, probably not your thing, but I like the 5 window chevy Truck. Oh, I forgot about that Buick. Its already at ride height!
The cab-over, the jeep and the model-T flatbed would be my choices. Other than that, find the best el camino or piece one together from several.
I’m thinking the 32 Ford BB truck and the 40 super deluxe possibly the custom F100 , F1 , inter cabover and even the 40 merc and 35 ford pickup that’s my pick anyway, great stuff guys keep it up and cheers from down under Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺😎👍👍
Also, that 65-66 Mustang fastback roof and fastback interior is worth at least $2,500.
Well Matt my guess is the IH cabover, Super Deluxe 40 and the Huckster. You could probably take the IH and put a ramp on the back and then go pick up the other 2.
Very cool stuff hiding in the swamp, I would love to have the two 56 f100s, my prediction is Matt pulls the BB, the huckster and at least one f1 for parts
Rick B aka Plastic butcher
Hope you get that '41 Super Deluxe. it'll make a nice driver. Getting anything out of there is going to be a task!
Junk yards in Texas still got good gems little to no rust that's where I'm going to get classic GTO part's
10:17 stepping on a bullfrog! Lmao !
Obviously the haven of a "real car guy" - I mean, what "real car guy" wouldn't pick a swamp in which to store his personal stash long term?
That International cab over would be on my list.
The 39 for truck would be a good one and the f100 with the clean bench seat. Also the 5 window chevy would be good picks.
Get the 39 Mercury. And the cool T truck and if you can the Oldsmobile. or. The white Thunderbird. Thanks for saving whatever you got. There are some that could be saved but a lot of useable parts on others. Good luck 2 U. 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Save them all !!!
That IH COE is something special
Check out that 67-69 T-bird on the back row. If it is a 1967 (won't have marker lights) it may have a 428 engine. If it is a 67 428, they are worth about $4000 because they are date code correct for 67 Shelbys before they were VIN stamped. Also, the air cleaner base is the same one used for 69-70 Mustang shaker hoods and is worth about $250.
Thanks for the heads up! -Matt/ITG
@@IronTrapGarage The door tag will tell you which engine it has.
That Heavy Chevy Chevelle is a rare bird. They were apparently called that to avoid triggering the higher insurance rates that came with the SS badge. Looks like it was pretty far gone though.
I want the chevrolet truck at 12:30...
You bought;
The 1950 IH COE (and I do too)...
The huckster at 9:42...
The 41 super deluxe at 7:11...
Bummer the secret stash is disappearing into the landscape.
35 ford truck,41 ford/merc house and the flip front f100 as the shop truck/missus truck.
I had to stop and go back to that pickup next to the Olds. The valve cover had holes rusted through it with plants growing through it. Would make a good photo poster for the wall. I am sickened by the fact that these were all parked in a low lying wetland area.
Real wet yard .im in delco.there is a yard right across 322 bridge in jersey a friend owns u might like
In a swamp! In a friken swamp! Yea no ... What a waste, you can even see the high water mark on the one car.
Those cars needed to be kept in a desert, death valley might do 🙂
Y block with an oiler kit to the valve cover. Those things were famous for not oiling the upper engine if the oil wasn't kept clean.( as in rocker shaft)The oiler kit was the quick fix to oil and quiet the rocker shaft/rockerarms assembly
Your pulling the 41 ford first. I would want to pull most of them out. It's a car guy thing the only fix is more cars. I have been pulling volkswagens out of the woods and barns for 30 to keep this stuff on the road.
All these rust buckets simply break my heart. There is nothing like these places in Northern California. At least I haven't seen them. What a waste!
Save em all !!!
There's a lot of cool vehicles there. Too bad the majority are parts cars. My guess is your pulling the cab over, 39 ford and the T Huckster. I hope you get old number 4 also.
Friend of mine dragged a 1927-8 Ablion truck out of a yard just for a garden piece in front of house. However he was plagued with strangers banging on the door wanting to buy it for two years. Evidently he cleaned it up and got the motor running then sold it for three times what he paid for it. A lot of cars are in the same boat 39 fords
Why store cars in a swamp for future use?
Cab over for sure and that custom ford truck with the flip front end. after that maybe one of the f100
That 35 Ford PU truck that could not be seen that may be an old Fire Truck would be worth taking a better look at. If the original markings could be saved that would be a bad ass patina ride.
Yea we gotta take a better look at it! -Matt/ITG
41 Ford should be a driver, IH truck make a good roll back, maybe an f-1 for a run around shop truck, and skip all the late model junk.
Gave it a like but the cars and trucks would be a bit more visible if you made this during the winter months.
If it was me I'd go with the COE, Willys, and Huckster but I'm thinking you prolly went for the Merc, the "lowered" car, and the 32 Pickup
A galaxie or country squire grill on the effie custom, cool stuff.
The olds, the custom f 100, and the 36 ford.
I want em all !! 39 ford 39 Merc ,An the Rocket olds !!
I'd like to snatch up that 66-67 Chevy II. That would be a good candidate of an altered wheelbase FX tribute drag car. Its rusty but i wouldn't feel terrible cutting out whats left of the floors and wheel wells and sliding them forward a good 8 or 9 inches.
The family is working on pricing cars. Send us an email if you want to make an offer. We can try and help get you in contact with them. The cars won't be super cheap as they understand they still have value even if just for parts. We just want to see this stuff get used before it's too late! -Matt/ITG
Im Guessing You Didn't Buy The Mid 70's Ranchero. A Face Only A Mother Can Love!! I Miss Yards Like This One!! Great Video!!
Haha nahhhhhhh it can go to someone elses yard with a larger mullet than me! -Matt/ITG
That ihc coe looks like sumthin outta fallout.
Matt and Mike great video, know that covered bridge. The cars are still gold no matter the condition. Did you guys get to all Ford carlisle?
I'd go with the cab over first, then the f1's. Then the 40 four door ford
Great video...and thanks for taking the time to point out some of the cars that aren't really in the theme of your channel. I would have liked to see a little more of the fast back mustang...was it completely roached ?..or somewhat doable ?
It was hit hard in the right front corner and a bunch of stuff stole off it. Definitely savable if you have a lot of ambition!
I would really like to see those 40s business coupes pulled out
