Thank you to the doctor who reanimated Nick and brought him back to us ! We've missed you Nick !!
You're welcome.
As a Porsche configurator addict, the addition of being able to see the paint to sample colors on the car was my #1 request. What a joy to have your review to watch to start my weekend. Humor, insight, honesty, Porsche--thank you Nick.
I love this „new“ feature. And I am still waiting to see the deviating stitches again. Still don’t know why they removed that years ago
Same I spent time daily on it. Can't wait to place my order
Nick, glad to see you back. We need more content. Love the channel.
I'm still happy with my 2019 Carrera 991.2. I like the analog gauges and a real shifter for the PDK instead of the shaver.
This video saved me. I have a 991 and was going to trade in for a 992 (C2S). I was preparing to order in early 2021, held off for a while bc of the massive delays, then over the past few months I was thinking "well looks like delays aren't going anywhere, might as well get my order in." But I had NOT considered, after so much time had gone by during pandemic, that it was getting close to 992.2 availability such that - as you suggested - I should just wait another year for the .2.
You continue putting out the most practical Porsche advice on UA-cam, and this video in particular may have saved me from making a decision I would regret. Thanks!
992.2 will have all digital gauges which is a huge negative
I was about to type nearly the same comment. I’ve had a deposit down for 6 months and still no allocation but at this point I’m just going to wait until next year. Nick to the rescue!
Get in line for both, and sell the 992.1 when the 992.2 arrives. Makes the most sense in a supply-limited situation.
But even if you order now, it is likely you won't get an allocation until the 992.2 is introduced. So don't wait.
Nick, I'm sooo impressed by your courage to speak the truth! Floating turds are indeed a problem!
Miss you and your loooong videos!!!hahaha!!! You always bringing Porsche News to us!! Thanks Nick!!! I will be waiting the 992.2!!
I quite like the duck tail spoiler. I always thought it would have been a good addition to the GT3 Touring and an option on rest of the range. Really like the heritage design interiors too, looks fantastic!
Finally someone I can agree with on so many items - 50 shades of gray, reviewers praising the great gts witout checking if it actually is better then the s, manual gearbox, ugly duckwings and so much else... you are a ray of sunshine on youtube 👍
Nick, you’re appointment viewing for me. Love your fresh and unapologetic takes, count me as a huge fan.
Thanks Nick. Great coverage on all topics discussed. Very much appreciated.
Love how bold you are and is not afraid to voice your opinions
Mark this day in history, Nick no longer hates speed yellow! A definite sign of the apocalypse.
I may have converted him :)
Wait until Nick stops hating gray cars
Hi Nick,
I have been following your channel for ages now. I can’t believe you have been that patient with Porsche. You have a great attitude towards this. Real easy going!
I just took receipt of my new 911 992. I had to wait 18 months. First it was 12 months then got pushed back.i got it in aventurine green with dual colour interior and red stitching. Other aesthetics including ambient lighting, and the Porsche logo when opening the door in the dark (which I know you don’t like that) Also the privacy glass with too.
I got the chrono package, the nanotechnology exhausts lol which I also know you aren’t that keen on, PDK, BOSE sound system an apron on the front., PDLS, Plus some other options like additional stuff like leather on the wheel as and some of the extra power steering stalk plus some other options I can’t recall as of now.
I wish I could send you a photo of it. See what you think of it. might not be your cup of tea but it ticks all my boxes.
Thanks for all,the great content. It’s been really useful for me! Have a great 2024!
I’d love to get your impressions on my new 911S. Do you know how I can share some photos?
It will always be more fun to drive a slow (and light-weight) car fast than a fast car slow. That's why I own a 987 :)
I will have one .So happy !
Thank you Nick! Things to expect from 992.II so far: Turbo goes hybrid, dashboard goes fully digital with more compact layout and a lifted Safari/Dakar version joins a lineup.
So if you want your analog-ish rev counter, the Mk1 is the last chance of getting it🤗
991.2 still have the best gauges with just enough tech
I love that fact my 992 has an analog tach
@@RNMAutomotiveAddiction agreed 👍🏻
I disagree 911 has always been the least gimmicky sports car out there and hopefully Porsche is smart enough to realize a classy analog rev counter is more pleasant and better to read than digital like a fine mechanical watch it they ditched the analog tach it would be a very bad move at least keep it as a cost option.
@@gtperfection1596 it appears from spy shots of the 992.2 that the 2024 model year will not have an analog tach. Dash will be all digital like the Taycan. 😔
Good to have you back Nick, always love Porsche Content :)
Dear Nick. Thanks for all your recommendations. Good to think about. Best, Johannes
I missed these breakdowns. Great job Nick!
Superb video as always, thanks Nick, love that green.
Great to see U again!
With all of the uninspiring Porsche UA-cam vlogger’s out there, Nick is a truly refreshing 25-30 minutes. He is NOT a mouthpiece for Porsche but is an obvious true enthusiast that knows what he’s talking about. Unvarnished opinion that actually makes my smile and chuckle. he is the “go to” resource for anyone interested in what’s happening with Porsche! Thanks, Nick!
Excellent advice as always. You’ve helped tremendously as I narrow down opps on the wish list 👍👌🏁 Thank you Sir Nick.
Another AWESOME Video! I’m waiting another year for the 992.2 options to be released. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Nick!
Great to see you Nick. Would be great to have a link to the entire 911 range over the years. Nice to see higher prices and the added possibility of your 911 spilling into the ocean…
Thanks, as always, for your authentic style and honesty. I appreciate your industry insider knowledge but more than anything you’re a Porsche guy; which is a love/question/resent relationship. Still loving my 2013 Boxster S.😊
Your videos were a huge help when deciding what options to get on my 2021 Carrera S. I love my car and will never sell it. I think. Keep the videos coming. Great info.
Welcome back Nick, hope you are well. Cheers 🍻
Holy cow, look at that paint-to-sample Viola Purple Metallic! Beautiful.
Just ran the configurator on our 2022. The equivalent car is now $7k more.
Nothing as exciting as a new Nick Murray video
Nick, you are alive!
Great video as always Nick. Glad you like Aventurine Green as this is what I have on my new 718 GTS and with silver wheels!!!
Welcome back Nick!! You’re always missed
love your take on the turbo models !
Appreciate the video. Great info as always.
The Porsche Contrarian - entertaining as ever!
Love it thanks Nick!
Another good vid Nick, cheers.
Terrific video Nick, thanks for the insight.
I run my own channel, watch hours of UA-cam and I always learn something watching your content, plus your delivery is hilarious. I think you might be onto something with the paint to sample, would make the car much rarer and probably better for resale. The S model is £102, 800 in the UK, the paint to sample another £6228 or £8k for your own colour choice, raising to £10,500 for GT cars. Thanks again great content as always.
Nick back to your best !
Thanks for this Nick - I value your opinion!
So cool they added the sport classic interior in a turbo/carrera.
This made me love my 2020 992 c2s even more lol
Amazing video. Good man. Thank you for doing these videos. 🎉
Excellent review, as usual. I really respect Nick's opinions that often go against the general consensus in Porsche world. In particular I agree that the GTS is pointless, and that the Turbo has way too much power to be enjoyable.
can't wait for 2013!
100% agree about your favorite model picks. Used the same logic to land on my decision to get a 991.2 Carerra S. Have never regretted it. :)
Respect, Nick. With a face made for 144p, you continue to put out 4k videos 👍
Mate I'm trying to finish an edit and keep getting distracted, you have just delayed me another 24 mins! Hope you're well man ♥️
Maybe turn off social media for a while and u will see that your life will be better. Too many people spend hours everyday on it. No? Read what psychologists says about social media.
@@MemoryLaneCinema Bro, he is being ironic, just a bit of banter 😉
@@MemoryLaneCinema UA-cam is not social media. But yes, one can spend hours on it.
@@BestCarSound nah. he is a tuber obviously.
@@MemoryLaneCinema Yeah, but do you know they are friends, Joe and Nick? Both great personalities with sense of humor that's not for you.
Good stuff. Yellow for sure!
Get well soon Tui !
You’re nuts about the SC and the ducktail…but to each their own! ;)
Great video Nick!
You are a funny guy and have alot of class.
Great job as always! I think the PTS is the best approach for color options. The viper green is my favorite. It would be cool to see the S vs GTS comparison video. Thanks for the good content!
Good info - thanks. Also, Mamba Green is the best PTS color ever!
wenn i spec an S, i basicly come to the same options as the GTS has standard ...
the front bumper is an absolute must, the stock is sooo hidiously square
so the GTS is actualy cheaper as an S with the same options, and has 30 more HP ^^
.... and beter retail in the end
I have been obsessed with paint to sample and now they have them available! I am spending way too much time dreaming for something I’ll never actually get 🤣
I think you saved me a lot of money. I was looking at a 911 Turbo S Cabriolet. I currently have a 2016 911 S Cabriolets in black and was planning on selling for the turbo. I do want a newer 911 and in blue but I think I will look at it differently now. Thanks, and my wife thanks you even more.
Matt Farah, from The Smoking Tire said it best, "The Turbo S just gets you in trouble faster", lol
Thanks Nick!!
I got a call that my allocation was coming up for September. I'm taking your advice and pushing it out for the 2024 model instead.
So agree on the blah colors!
I agree with every comment in this video! If I made this video I would have said exactly the same lines. Amazing to hear someone else thinks the same about Porsche!!
We should collaborate one day when either of us in the other’s country !!
In the market for a 992, and really appreciate your candid comments on the S / GTS / Targa, etc. Thank you!
Love the ducktail.
Great stuff Nick. I ordered my 2022 Cayman GTS IN August 2021. Was just told by dealership that no sports car allocations will be made for 3 or 4 months and that it will be for a 2023 at the new MSRP, about $3600 more on the base price. If i am lucky i will get delivery next March.
Nick, you're spot on. As the owner of many Tesla models I don't go looking at a Porsche for acceleration numbers. If people are talking about 400 vs 500 vs 600, just stop. The Plaid S will still smoke whatever you just paid $300k for. You buy a Porsche for the Porsche driving experience, not to run 0-60 in 2.2. I'm finally coming around to your concept of "400hp is enough", because chasing it in an NA or Turbo was fun, right up until I bought Tesla's. You can already get that warp speed for $60k (M3P) so why chase? Buy that, then buy a car for the experience and you have both.
Dreaming of a Oak Green Turbo with the Sport Classic interior and a manual transmission 😛
Nick is the Best!!!
Hello Nick! Hope all is well with you and your family.
I like the hump on the back. Reminds me of my mother-in-law. 😀👍❤️
🚘 Nick, thanks for this review. I’m in the market for a 911 & this has me thinking twice about certain models. THANK YOU!
Good call on the GTS, it's an options package.
Good job!
GTS is a Car that you can configure almost like a GT3 especially if you order it with the light weight package and it’s much better for daily use!
Everything you can spec on the gts you can spec on the s
@@manfromwuhan714 You can’t spec the S with the extra 30HP, light weight package, GTS package, Turbo suspension, brakes, wheels, carbon fiver bucket seats, and many other options
I'm in a minority and like getting the last model of a car in its run, there's usually some cheaper options plus all of the major issues/kinks are fixed. it sounds like Porsche are an outlier and just try and get more $. I love watching these videos but will never be able to buy one of these without burning my kids college fund. I might rewatch this in 10 years when these are second hand.
CPO in a few years?
Thank you for the updates. I really enjoy all your videos. On a personal note, I ordered a base 2022 Cayenne heavily optioned last January with delivery in (originally May) June. In April, my dealer notified me that Porsche unknown to them dropped the Premium Plus and the ventilated rear seats to only the Premium package. So, we reordered the Cayenne now as a 2023 Platinum edition with all my options for delivery in mid-August. Per my dealer, the vehicle is in 250 code and appears Porsche hasn’t deleted any options. Hopefully, the Cayenne will arrive as ordered. Crossing my fingers. We are trading in our 2018 Macan S as we require more space for grandchildren and car seats.
I just ordered a 2023 Plat edition as well(arriving ~November). Apparently the 2023 model year Cayenne is receiving a facelift? There have been a lot of leaks online regarding it.
Great reality check on these sports cars.
Nice One Nick! 👍
Really enjoy your videos Nick, and have done so for years. Just placed my order for a 992.2 in Aventurine Green with tan and b&w hounds tooth interior, having driven Porsches only since 2009. Keep it up!
Mark.
PS. Get Gorillas in your shop! I’d buy one … along with a … “Gorillas do it in the back seat” t-shirt.
I've seen a GT3 Touring in grey when I send in my GT3 to fix a key pairing issue. It really looks like an S but with the hardware underpinning of the GT3. However, when I put them font-to-back, it looks smaller than the GT3 because it doesn't have the wing. For me, I like the wing and the dual-color front bumper so the 992 GT3 is great, not to mention I got the manual.
PCCB is great for everyday driving actually, they don't dust as much as the steel brakes and require less maintenance :) I got that on the Lambo and it's great, hence I also got that on the GT3
Re: removing options - we just took delivery of a 992.1 GTS only to be surprised about the lack of a power adjusting steering wheel. We were glad to receive a $500 coupon to our service department. Truth be told I’d prefer an all-manual setup for weight reduction so it’s really not a big deal.
I haven’t gotten through the whole video yet but a friend who sent me the link claims you have unkind things to say when comparing an S to a GTS. Well, whatever you say, boss. I’ll see you on the resale market 6 years from now and we’ll see how that goes. Cheers ✌🏼
The yellow is a great colour 💛
Love Nick! His honesty is so refreshing. Don’t agree with him on PDCC (I love it on my 992 C2S), but otherwise, he’s spot on with everything. Porsche should just build the 992.2 GTS with the GT3 engine. They would sell everyone they could make. Mike
I had PDCC on one of my cars and I found little difference but what I have found is that people are far my likely to get motion sickness in cars with PDCC
yes I feel you...I am long suffering for my color and options as well.....
Love your channel. Honesty and wit are a rare combo. Any info on the upcoming panamera ?
17:00 Speaking of colors...
I've a 1996 993 C2 IRIS BLUE METALLIC, 60,000 miles, 6-speed manny tranny. No CEL. No oil leaks.
Haha the agate grey colour turd has floated back to the surface. Love it.
Just got a 981 cayman s. First Porsche and I’m over the moon
Thanks Nick, it’s always good to listen to your “feet on the ground” balanced view on the 911.....yes I’m still hoping one day (soon) to buy one. Well, I’m losing my faith in BMW - even though I have my weak moments and think “ahhh the M8 coupe looks quite good” but then remember how BMW has totally let its European customers down in regards to the new 7 series (length, engines) never mind the looks!
Hi Nick. Love to watch your videos while having my coffe. Feels like having a chat with a friend. Can I request a similar video with the taycans? Loved to hear your thoughts about them. Cheers ✌🏻
So many opinions! whoa!
I went for the 4s... You've never experinced a UK wet winter!
Good info! thank you! Sport Classic has the best EXterior (except for rear bumper, that one is the best on base model)
One of my favorite Porsche colors is Agate Grey! So there!😁
Racing yellow for the win!
