Nick, I applaud your perspective on the problems with your 911 and resulting outcome. You're a good man!! Nice one. I hope you get another 911 in the future and hope that the 3rd time is a charm!! All the very best.
I would definitely agree. Nick - you've been very classy through the entire process and set a great tone for others to follow. I hope you're able to enjoy the hunt for another car and a classic - modern or vintage - sounds like a great idea. Summer is just around the corner. Cheers.
Auto Amateur very cool James and Nick pinned your comment. Way to go. Heidi
Apparently Bush is smarter than Nick -

Not only did he buy a lemon, Porsche actually damaged it on two separate occasions while in for repair. “No big deal”. A thoroughly nice bloke 👍
What’s worse is Porsche are probably going to stick it up for sale for another unsuspecting customer to buy. The thing should be sent back to Porsche in Stuttgart and dissected to understand what’s gone wrong and learn from it. Will you keep an eye on where it ends up, Nick?
Just amazing that you have experienced this from 2 new 911's. I think they really owe you as a customer.
he probably could have bought a ferrari and not have as many problems.
@@claus1225 911's is way more reliable than ferrari
two 911 buy backs. statistically you are primed to win the lotto.
Not really, The odds of german lemons are VERY high.
the computers and stuff in cars today are pretty hit or miss. i just had my dealer buy back my car.
He had 2???
@@joeyjoejums many episodes on the first buy back...a must watch series..
@@commanderrussels2612 Porsche is at the top of the quality list. a two in a row buy back in unthinkable.... oops..
You are in a weird abusive relationship with Porsche. No matter what they do to you you keep going back.
lmao
I know many suckers drinking the German Kool Aid
Porsche = Glorified VW
Alfa = Ferrari
The true legacy cannot be denied....
Once owned a Porsche 924 ...YIKES ...what a disaster...
Followed that up with a 911....IMS bearing....no need to tell you more....
What a wholesome and positive-minded man, respect!
As an aircraft mechanic, makes me question the competence of technicians working on it. When you have multiple problems like that... it's either a fluke dud from the factory... or it had 1 problem, maybe that 1 issue created another 1 or 2... but once you fix those it should be fine.
Especially with the way they just shotgunned line item parts at it.
If it's still breaking, suggests they didn't do good work and broke something else in the process. Forgot to do some alignments or settings, didn't setup the computers to talk to eachother... whatever it is... when you say it felt like it got worse... sounds a lot like bad maintenance. Every time they fixed something, they broke something else. And it's a vicious cycle.
I see it all the time with people trying to hurry or just lazy and haven't developed that mindset. See it more with car mechanics b/c there's no FAA or EASA breathing down their neck and ... let's face it... your car isn't going to cause 80 people to fall out of the sky and die.
But definitely sounds like poor level of shop maintenance to me.
Moreso when you say it's the 2nd car like this from same dealer.
I would agree. Anytime there are a series of consecutive issues where each "fix" generates sequential failures this is a problem with the servicing individual(s).
You sound like an aircraft mechanic... (complement)
Respect to you Nick for taking this so well. Good luck with the next car.
I can't believe you're so calm. It's not just a car - it's a £100,000+ car. If I was supposed to redecorate your bedroom and ended up accidentally knocking down your entire house with a wrecking ball I recon you'd be fine with it. Maybe even happy about it.
Nick, I think the stars have aligned for you to get a GT3 Touring :)
Marshall Hurtado yes bro!!
Definitely! He’s had so much luck with 911s.
Yeah right, buy another junky Porsche. Great advice.
The GT3 Touring, I agree, is what would make you the happiest. And me. It would make me happy. Besides, take advantage of your high profile with the dealer and brand by charming them into putting in a allocation for you. The process of spec-ing the car would be youtube gold, as would the delivery and of course the reviews. I know you like dark blue, but if you could swing a paint to sample GT3 Touring, I think British Racing Green is the proper color for that car. Dark blue seems too subdued.
Do you watch his channel? He's stated repeatedly that he doesn't like GT cars as daily drivers.
I do respect your laid back approach to the whole situation but man, honestly I think Porsche really needs to do right by you. You are right, you have been a big ambassador for the brand. Even though you might not want 992 (yet), they should be handing you the keys to a new car and saying they're sorry that this is the second car in a row that has gone wrong. They owe you that.
DJNOOB I agree..and you still love the brand, which I could understand. Keep the faith brother, “it’s darkest before the dawn, but the dawn never fails... Trust in the dawn,
@@tesbarnett45 lol they don't owe him anything
DJNOOB you are saying they should give him a free car for their two lemons?
Yes, Porsche should do the right thing for dedicated customers like NIck. It is a simple matter of principle. No lost to a mega company.
Tes Barnett guess we found the Bernie supporter here
You’re a level headed, sensible bloke. What an amazing car that was. Sad it had to end that way. Looking forward to seeing your next one
Nick... Good example for us all with your patience and the way you handled this. Very diplomatic and I believe the correct way. Thanks, Appreciated.
Great attitude Nick! At least you have so many fun memories to look back on with your car! Look forward to seeing what’s next. Onward!
Honestly, Porsche is lucky to have such a nice & understanding customer like Nick. Considering this is his 2nd Porsche in a row to go wrong like this, many people would be quite angry about that
And rightly so. Not everybody has nerve (or spare cash) to shake off experiences like this. I hope the buy back price is generous, market rate wouldn't be fair given what a gong show this car and the previous was. I love Porsche but this simply isn't good enough.
I keep hearing how reliable Porsches are but every owner I have met has had a very mixed experience overall.
You’re more than a car channel. Your perspective and outlook on life’s curveballs is something to watch and learn from itself
Nick. When Boeing say they have fixed the 737 Max 8. Don't get on it.
Harsh!!!
😆😆
You are a great ambassador to the Porsche brand. Enjoy your videos and looking forward to whatever car comes next.
LOL
You definitely didn't abused it, you're just using it just like any other car.
Thinking about it, maybe your car freaked out because you drive it like a normal car. The electronics thought they were in a 911 yet got the same mileage as a Passat, making it got an identity crisis and breaking down. Yep this is 100% what happened.
How about just accepting that apart from the badge, Porsche is junk.
For the record, I have a Porsche 911 C4S and have not had a single issue with it. I simply love this car!!
@Blackporsche roadster you don’t know me and I don’t know you, so do not assume. I now own a new 992 C4S and, again, have not had a single issue.
I’m really thankful for your comment. I’m very close to pulling the trigger on a 991.2, but man, this gives me pause.
I am tearing up watching this video. So sorry to hear. Nick! You're a good man and I know the next Porsche will work out for you.
Do a follow up video on what they give you for it.
I would seriously question the competence of the Dealer service staff at this point.
Love the positivity. Keep it up! Can’t wait for my first 911 one day.
A true car guy and a super positive outlook in life! Very graciously done video!
Nicky.. Porsche owes you a lot. You are one of their best salesmen in the US/NZ etc. Apply your considerable leverage.
Henry Zachary haha I think they would rather he stops posting UA-cam’s
He did. That's why Porsche bought car back. Ordinarily, Porsche wouldnt even give a squat.
Your first broken 911 is what made me love you
yass123 so you love him twice? 😊👍
@@hcooC yes, of course 😁
I like that you embrace the wisdom of 'things are not perfect in life... & that's ok'. And you don't trash the Porsche brand because it truly is the best car manufacturer in the world. Awesome attitude. It's refreshing to see a UA-camr who keeps it real & is not pointing the finger at everyone, playing the blame game & the victim game. Well done. You're a gentleman & a professional.
not the best maufacturer it is the best at building cars that drive perfect thats all lests not get confused here best to me means durability and most european cars the engines dont last too longand porsche is one of em

I love Nick's attitude towards the whole situation, it's a very real and respectable mindset. Because he's right, shit happens and it's just a car! Life continues on.
Good on you Nick. You speak with good attitude and I like that you had a good outlook of the event. I have been here since the Porsche before THIS one refused to be owned by you too. I am looking forward to your next vehicle and adventures with it. Cheers from Canadia.
Sorry to say, but it's about time. I could never keep driving a car that has had to spend so much time at a dealer. And on multiple occasions at that. Unfortunate that it didn't work out.
I am beginning to wonder if the pattern here isn't the dealer, rather than the cars? It isn't rocket science, and Porsche wouldn't be in business if they were pumping out a never-ending series of out-of-spec parts. I am having difficulty believing in this dealer's ability to properly diagnose and fix problems.
THIS is how you act in a situation like this. Much respect for being rational and understanding during all of that. Definitely earned a sub from me, can’t wait to see where this channel goes.
You are a true gentleman, hope you get another Porsche. You deserve the best.
Damn your BMW was more reliable. That's saying alot...
Not really they are mass produced cars, expect better reliability. Wouldn't be surprised if bmw's inline 6 is Germany's most reliable engine. If they can't make it work by now, they should just quit the business. ;)
BMW's from 2012 and forward have really good reliability. I used to work as a service manager at a BMW dealership and we really didn't have too many issues. Not compared to other brands atleast.
@@Sebbe40 Do they still use plastic water pumps doe
My F80 M3 is going strong. Daily driver and used properly.

Man you are so chill! Respect!
Wow, major bummer. I was SO hoping you would tell us they found a specific problem, fixed it, and all is well.
two lemons in a row says a lot about 911 reliability
I was about to cry to see it gone. Cars are attachment to one’s life. Hope u get another 911 soon. At least you still have twoey. Thanks Nick, was tremendous delight watching your 911 video and get to learn something every time.
I love your honestly and pragmatic approach. Cheers, and sorry about the car!
They basically turn your purchase into a lease and take the car back early. Glad it all worked out in the end. Look forward to your next adventures.
Nick, you're honesty being too forgiving about this... especially considering that this is now the second time it's happened. I'm a 30 year Porsche owner (2 currently) and love the brand, but this is ridiculous. Loyalty to and from the brand should be a two-way street and they should recognize all that you've done to help promote their brand through your videos. This should be a full sale price refund at the very least. Good luck with everything and I look forward to seeing what you choose next. 👍
Agreed. That is quite a bit of cheek for Porsche to reduce the buyback price. There are perfectly good legal grounds for compensation. But I'm just wondering if this is to do with Porsche or Nick's local dealer? Either way, as you say considering Nick's continued support for the brand he should be given gold star treatment! But maybe we're not being told everything and Nick doesn't want to be in this dealer's bad books for some reason? Something doesn't add up here. Oh well...
Great video and perspective on this situation. Can't wait to see your next car.
You seem like a really nice person, I hope you get a car that treats you well
I had several 911’s and have never had a problem
I driven them in all weather and the car has always been a pleasure
Sorry for your problems nick
Great attitude. Compared to some problems having Porsche troubles ranks pretty low.
Nick you're a class act. You're not out to bitch or whine, or have unreasonable expectations. You are the kind of guy people like to do business with. Thanx for the update. I hope everything gets worked out sooner than later..........cheers.
Nick you always such a positive attitude towards things in life, and I see we tend to have that similarity. Never take life too seriously, things could always be worse.
You should of given Franny a crack at deciphering the problems.🇨🇦

I liked pissed off Nick from the first 911 lemon much better.
Alex AJ yeah those were the fun days
I think he colluded with Porsche. I dont believe him anymore.
I bet he's actually just way better off than back then. Financial security can make you chilled out about many things.
@@theyruinedyoutubeagain I agree, also, he's more popular and Porsche wouldn't want any bad rep.
What happened to the 1st one?
Shouldn't we all aspire to be as thoughtful a human as you, Nick. "sh*t happens"
Hi Nick. As with so many of the comments before, I admire your philosophical attitude in the face of blatant engineering failure. You are a gentlemen for being so kind to the porsche brand.
I owned a 993 in Europe during my earlier single days; it gave me so so much joy. 20 years and 3 kids later I have just taken a leap of faith and bought myself a used 991.2s with 27k on the clock. I can do nothing but simply hope for the best. Thanks for your entertaining and informative videos!!
When you have 2 consecutive total failures with same model. You should blame on the manufacturer. There is clearly something wrong with 911.
@J K sure Jan.
The voice of reason....
100k for a car and this.... I would be somewhat angry...
Listen to what Nick said, you can be angry, negative, pissed, whatever - but what does that do? It does nothing. I'd be angry if they weren't helpful, responsive, etc...But they weren't, they were helpful, accommodating and more. Shit happens, its a car.
@@jake4030 :) I know.... I'm weird :)
There’s no point, take the buyback and move on and hope they let you get one of the special cool ones when they come out, preferably with a nice discount. He’s earned a damn free GT3 RS at this point to be honest.
Maybe these car manufacturers need to step up their quaoity controls?... A weird idea I know...

He colluded with Porsche. There is definitely some secret agreement.

Nick, you have a great attitude.
Great to see someone reporting an objective view on the issues you've had instead of just giving it a 1* review like the rest of the internet when they experience a products that is sub-par, but not a reflection of the actual product.

If you get another Porsche and its a complete dog will you be such a brand ambassador? Love your positivity.
Truly a commendable attitude, Nick.
Your issues are particularly strange to me after doing multiple Porsche driving experiences, the Ice Force up in Finland in particular. Those cars run for 8 hours a day with snow in the radiators and ping off of snow walls all day without missing a beat.
Fingers crossed for your future cars.
Might your detector have interfered with the car's electronics? Like Jeremy Clarkson's GT and the infamous immobilizer?
As classy as your intro music. I salute you sir. Consider an M3 CS or an F90 M5.

This video tells me all I need to know about whether to buy a Porsche or not. Thanks.
If Nick's "car" were a Toyota, people would be howling about the shabby quality. Since it's a Porsche less people are howling - maybe more laughing. As an owner of a Toyota 4Runner and a Porsche (the much lesser Boxster), I can say the first goal of any "car" is transportation. Porsche has failed its most basic mission here. My Boxster has had the transmission replaced, the top retract replaced, and now the driver door window is inoperable. I have put a whopping 6K on the odometer. It is my first and last Porsche. I appreciate Nick's time and humor in producing these videos. The C8 should be his next toy.
what model year is your boxster? I am curious because I have a 2009 BMW 135i and want another car.
Engineers can make glitch free cars, (Toyota 4Runner.) I have a 4Runner and used to have a 911T, (long time ago), no AC, roll up windows, air cooled, carbureted engine. It was amazing, and I still think about it. My advice, go back to the essence and get a 911 Singer air cooled rebuild. Germans, always, over engineer, AND, the have no impulse control. If they think of an, “improvement," it goes right in there. In aviation, they call them, "Hanger Queens.” Always in the shop. Who, has the time for that? Modern Porsches are for lease only!
24 years owning 3 different Toyotas (all 2nd-hand). The total pool of problems has been: 1 starter motor (fixed under extended warrantee - the car was then 10 years old), & 1 speedometer cable (DIY repair).

You have the right attitude with this, commendable, so what’s next ?
Hi Nick. Your story scares me, I took delivery on a 2019 C4S last November and watching your build video and experience update videos helped me immensely with my option choices and I added a lot of them because this is my Bucket List Retirement Car and I am hoping that it lasts until they take my car keys away or I "Kick the Proverbial Bucket". One thought that I continually had when I learned of your problems is about the "Messing around with the Wiring Loom", as you call it. Unfortunately, a few years back we had to have an Ignition Interlock System installed on my Wife's VW Passat, and this requires "Messing around with the Wiring Loom" in much the same fashion as they did when they installed the Escort MAX Ci 360 radar and laser detection system in your C4S. Our experience after our installation was much like yours with the C4S, crazy electrical things started happening and both the installer and VW said, much as the Scarecrow in the Wizard of OZ as he crossed his hands across his chest and pointed in opposite directions saying, "They went thatta way". In the end, we had the device removed, traded the car for a VW Tiguan, and went to a different ignition interlock installer. No problems with that install. I hope you get another Porsche, you location seems ideal for a Taycan and you could be among the first Video Reviewers if your dealership put you on top of their waiting list as a Gesture of Good Faith. I'm in Idaho now but still own 1/3 of my Dad's house in Waterford, CT, with my 2 brothers, and love trying to figure out what roads your are driving on as I have a Best Man/Best Friend who lives in Stamford and I visit both locations often. Good Luck! Love your Video Reviews. Regards, Mark K.

How refreshing to see an adult deal with a first world problem in an adult matter with an adult perspective on how his life isn’t completely ruined from such a small problem! You da man. Way to handle this gracefully and patiently.
Nick you are THEE Ambassador for the Porsche Brand.
I love your perspective on the issues with your 911. Frequently in this day and age everything gets dumped on the end-user...consumer. So, it's good to see Porsche standing behind their product. Maybe they also realize what you do for the brand with your visibility and it can only help them to stand behind their product. No one wants to pay Porsche money and have the manufacturer disappear if / when they have issues.
