Having crew members chain smoke cigarettes in place of a fog machine is the funniest film trick I have ever heard. Also Ermey is seriously such an underrated actor, he stole the spotlight in whatever role he played in a movie.
@Tyler Benson, you think Ermey overshadowed Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt, or Kevin Spacey in Seven?
If only all actors were as professional and hard working as Mr Ermey. He will sorely be missed.
my late father and I always laughed at his ranting-and-raving during his scenes in "Full Metal Jacket" (considering he was a retired Vietnam Veteran)
Dark Mountain Productions sort of strange that some of the most professional and hard working actors are the ones that didn't start that way while most of the ones that wanted to pursue a career in the performing arts are a bunch of snobs like Ermey, keanu reeves and Dwayne the rock Johnson who are the former instead of the latter
Great tribute to R. Lee Ermey.
It's really sad to watch the collapse of Jan-Michael Vincent. I'm old enough to remember when he was handsome and full of promise, always playing the young guy in buddy action movies. What a shame to see him go from that, to a burden that they have to shoot and edit around. As I'm writing this, he passed away a year or two ago, almost without notice. Damn.
I always liked R. Lee Ermey. After his death I started to see docs and interviews (and your videos) about him and everyone says that he was very professional. I wish I could met him! RIP
marine discipline... more people (me included) could use some
jonesey251 it takes a special kind of American to become a marine a special blend of commitment honour and delinquency to stand among the ranks of americas oldest amphibious fighting force the army has the tech and the numbers but the marines have got the skills and determination to get the job done in many ways they are like the British army quality over quantity the equipment they use is the army's hand me downs but they know that it's not the equipment that matters its the soldier using it that does. as I like to say "Rangers lead the way but the marines hold the line" and " the seals are the tip of the spear but the marines are the shield"
Too bad he went cray in his last years.
Clay3613 he never went crazy. He spoke out against Obama and got blacklisted. He didn’t even go full Ermey on him; just said he didn’t like the guy. But when you’re talking about Hollywood, that’s enough.
Ermey was a Legend
WhiskeyBrewer yeah. R.I.P R. Lee Ermey.
those eyebrows!
Yeah, daaaamn right!
RIP R.L.E.
And a right proper Man of the World and hero. Damn straight.
You make Whisky? 😍😍
Sometimes, I wonder if Cecil has the power to will movies into existence just to do videos on them.
Coach Renaldo he sure does a good jorb
Ricardo Silkworth Finally! I've met someone else who watched home star runner!
This comment seriously made me laugh out loud. :)
Now this movie screams 90s film! I've gotta add this to my collection! Once again, love the Exploring series, man! Keep it up!
Also, HUGE THANKS for the honorable mentioning of R. Lee Ermey's unfortunate death. He was an amazing actor! And one of the many actors I would have loved to meet before their sad passing. *RIP R. Lee Ermey*
Thank you!
RIP, Gunny.
Long time Filipino fan here. Use to watch this with my dad on VHS. Rest in peace R. Lee Ermey.
I've been watching GoodBadFlicks since I was in high school. I just graduated from college and Im still watching.... thanks man. Im pretty sure this channel is the reason I appreciate horror and B-movies as much as I do these days. Edit: i have to admit that i may have plagiarized you during my 'Good and Evil through film' class freshman year. Thanks.
Thanks for sticking around! Also, congratulations on graduating both HS and college!
Its perfectly ok, hope you got a good grade for it :)
i cant wait to see what you think about 'the house that jack built'
Ben Turner so the boy became a man during these years congrats
Nancy Everhard was, and still is, an absolute stunner!
Yeah, I remember her from some episodes of "Renegade", "Airwolf", and "Knight Rider", while being in the principle cast of "The Untouchables". I also viewed the TV movie remake (1991) of "This Gun for Hire", where she has a bathtub scene in (and out of the tub) which she is quite naked:-).
The story behind these kind of movies is just as much fun as the movie itself ;] RIP Ermey, legend.
YES, I used to watch Airwolf all the time and Jan Michael Vincent is a bit of an inside joke between my friends and I so it’s awesome to see a review with him in it. So sad to see him fall so far from drugs and alcohol.
I'm in the hospital with my baby that just came out.... I still clicked and watched. I Love this channel too much and I don't even know half these movies!
ShipMonster lmao priorities bro. Congrats teach them well.
Congratulations!
Man, I swear to GOD, you have one of the most entertaining movie sites on all of the Internet. How in the hell do you research this stuff?? It's like you go back in Time in your little UA-cam Time Machine and sit there with a recorder, pen and paper.
Lots and lots of homework. In this case I was talking to some folks involved in the production. :)
Oh man, my dad was the same age when he passed back in 2015. Miss you pops. Rip R lee ermey.
I just found a copy of Demonstone on VHS not too long ago on a blind buy! Now I’m excited to watch it 😄
laughing at the:
Director: " it's too ARTSY - edit it out!"
Editor: "but sir it elevates the whole movie."
Director: "what part of low budget exploitation film production dont you get? - tone it down moar!"
Love ur vids mate , you deserve more subscribers
Thank you!
Im constantly having this playing in the background at work. Ive gotten at least 3 coworkers interested in the channel!
R.I.P Ermey
Cool! I love the director, he did some great work on a little cult sci-fi show Farscape, I'll have to check this out! Didn't even know he did movies!
Farewell Ermey. Semper Fi!
Jan-Michael Vincent has been arrested for drunk driving numerous times. Badly broke his back in one car crash. Also has a permanently messed up voice from when the paramedics had to save him from the crash by sticking a tube down his throat. Right leg was also amputated below the right knee for an illness. Spent 60 days in jail for violating parole and being drunk in public. He is slowly decaying. If you see recent pictures of him, he looks like a hard core substance abuser.
That’s a bummer, as someone who deals with addiction and is in recovery it always hits home when I see addiction destroy so much of a person’s life…
Yes another exploring video keep up the amazing work
I've been a lurker on your channel but I have to really thank you for constantly showcasing movies shot here in the Philippines in the 80's. It was a sort of golden age of cinema here during that time as there was like two new films every month, movie houses were everywhere, tickets were cheap, and my family went to see a movie together every weekend. I practically grew up on all this schlock. More power to your channel, man!
Excellent, thanks! When I was younger I used to watch all these movies but never knew how many were shot in the Philippines. Its fascinating to see such a wide variety of films shot there over a relatively short time.
Respect to r lee ermey
He will be very missed, RIP
There has never been even close to one bad video from this channel. Love getting the notification for new vids. You still haven't dissapointed.
Thank you!
Agree 100%. The respect and love of movies he has mixed with the great comedy and comic timing make it so fun to watch. Long may it reign!
again am movie i have never heard of. good work on the video.
Great review as usual. I am going to have to hunt this down and watch it.
Rest in Peace Gunny
R. Lee Ermey was a national treasure. We'll all miss you, Gunny.
Great haircuts, great cars, stubby beer bottles................I love the 80's
That beer is San Miguel Pilsen. The bottle is still the same today.
Thanks for shining a light on this movie. i thought i was the only one who remembered it.
R lee Ermey, I salute you sir.
Damn didn't know Ermey passed away this year, R.I.P.
Great review as always
I think I might actually know where Jan-Michael Vincent dissapeared to, my Aikido teacher used to manage a bar in Patpong, Bangkok, Thailand called Goldfingers, he told me once that Jan showed up one day and started drinking and didn't leave for 2 days, they finally contacted someone in his family to come and get him. Timeline actually adds up. Although this may have been a drinking binge after the film and not during.
If is true then JMV only care about boze so much that he did not wanted go back america to avoid his family and friends who could help him get to rehab center but i thinking it's 1990 so place like that did not until exist later on yet at time might be problem find one for vincent wasn't going to be easy since he likes to disappear in drunk haze all the time.
Holy HELL! I must watch ALL you recommend! Lol I love the movies you review💘💘💘💘
"Exploring..." is best on UA-cam. Keep it up. Love your work.
Thank you!
great stuff!
Great video - RIP Mr. Ermey.......
I remember renting "Saigon Commandos" in a video store because I liked the cover art. I immediately recognized the cover when you showed it.
As a Filipino, I will always be shocked whenever I discover these obscure movies that were apparently shot here and that also featured local actors. How come Ive never heard of these?
Please do "From Beyond". It's a great low budget horror movie from the 80's!
omg there is nothing great about it. It's terrible.
OMG ONE WORD: COMBS. Idiot
T Gill 2 Words...COMBS...FOREE(think that’s spelt right)
You must be joking, right? From Beyond is one of the greatest horror movies to come out of the 80's.
"It ate him... bit off his head... like a gingerbread man!"
Loving it!!!
Cecillll give us that long awaited Deep Rising video
Everyone knows Jan Michael Vincent for Air Wolf, but to me he'll always be that guy from White Line Fever.
The World's Greatest Athlete
I tend to think of him as the son on Danger Island, then Airwolf or the immigration official in Born in East L.A.
R. Lee Ermey was so awesome, what a legend.
I have to admit. Your videos have gotten me into a lot of b movies and made me discover some cool movies.
Ur awesome, you deserve more subscribers, ur videos on these movies are so well done and entertaining! Always look forward to these! Plus on this one i received an entertainment enema!
Thank you!
Oooh Andrew Prowse, one of my favorite Farscape episode directors.
Never seen this but I'm looking for it now, you should do a retrospective of all of Ermey's work
Still saddens me when I'm reminded of Ermey passing away.
Well he will for me forever be remembered as the brotherhood of steel commander in Fallout Tactics.
R.I.P. R. Lee Ermey
That burning car stunt is so gnarly.
"In a world...where there's 8 Jan Michael Vincents and 16 quadrants"
Ah, another movie I'd totally forgotten about. This was great fun.
Have you done a video on that Gremlins knock off called ‘The Munchies’?
I used to have this on VHS! It was so bad it was good.
You are national treasure.
More like international treasure. Few can provide such factually sound content while maintaining this level of entertaingness.
Pete Pasanen I happily concede to your point. He is most definitely an international treasure.
I feel so loved :)
Pete Pasanen definitely most others like the nostalgia critic would just bash the movie even if the movie is good like small soldiers or more recently starship troopers yeah sure it wasn't faithful to the book but why should that matter Rambo first blood and Jurassic park where not faithful but they where/are great movies honestly I think he is nitpicking way to much at the most over look able of nitpicks even the angry video game nerd doesn't nitpick as much as he does yeah he gets angry when it's justified but not for the shits and giggles of it
I sorta want you to do a special episode covering R. Lee Ermey and some of his more obscure but great roles.
I feel like that would edn up being something pretty unique and a nice touch for his hisory
THE RETURN!
Probably the best episode of the Dreamstone.
Another awesome video bro. Btw did you see Deadpool 2?
Jan Michael Vincent had phenomenal hair!
Jan Michael Vincent remimds me of Rick and Morty
Love you channel. PLEASE DO TUSK !!!
Get ready to Jan Michael your Vincent.
I wondered who the hell he was (yet didn't bother looking him up of course :P)!
I grew up in the 80's and loved cheesy old action flicks even back then also. I guess I just missed his stuff.
This JANuary it's time to MICHAEL down your VINCENTs!
lol - great stuff.
Airwolf was the shit back in the day
@@jonesey251 I don't know WHY they don't make shows like _Airwolf_ and _Knightrider_ now - I'm sure it'd still be super popular with saturday mealtime kids!
R. Lee Ermey. OORAH!!!
Hey now, Ermey has played good guys. He played a whole bucket of the best guys. He was the VA for the army men in Toy Story .
8:49 Oh Fuck! Now I remember seeing this movie on the shelf!
Recently watched the 1990 Rockula on Comet TV & was surprised that I had never heard of it before & even more surprised I couldn’t find much out about. Any chance you’d cover it in a video? I’m interested to hear your take.
And as always, really enjoy your videos!
I miss these kind of flicks...and those San Miguel beers that Ermey keeps on drinking.
best review show on youtube,
Cecil, if it hadn't been for you, I never would've known about Filipino exploitation films & Cirio Santiago, lol. Great job as always man. Also, I was a big fan of Airwolf, back in the day.
Shit, I remember this movie but forgot the damn title of it til today! There's actually two other movies that I'd suggest you do sometime. One of is Deep Star Six (if you haven't done that one), and The Siege of Firebase Gloria. DS6 was made around the same time as Leviathan and The Abyss, but I think is still a decent movie. Firebase Gloria is a Philippines made Vietnam War movie that is severely underrated, starring R Lee Ermey and Wings Hauser. Awesome review man!
R. Lee Ermey passed on 4/15/18
Jan Micheal Vincent passed on 2/10/19
They were both 74 years old.
Big fan of your videos. I’m curious of what you think of either Punisher War Zone or Dragonheart
RIP Ermey
Loved the video. Any chance of getting the "red church" story?
Is there a cut that includes the original "artsy" opening?
Can you please do an exploring video on Legacy of Rage Brandon Lee’s First and only Hong Kong film?
Hispanic Catholic I’m glad you love my suggestion.
I had read that it was the budget of blowing up all those choppers that got AIRWOLF cancelled.
you should see what Jan Michael Vincent looks like now he looks terrible and missing a leg, it's sad
Just looked him up. He looks like the Crypt Keeper. Good grief.
I knew he was an alcoholic but how did he lose his leg?
he gotten a leg infection which was amputated twice
How about exploring Small Soldiers?? PLZ~!!!!^^;
I swear, I thought this was just a standard Santiago movie up until you mentioned the "Demon ghost scenes."
Calling all Jane Michael Vincents!
How could a director direct a movie with only one Jan Michael Vincent? That's like trying to patrol 32 sectors with only 16 Jan Michael Vincents. Madness.
Filipino here, love your videos man.
Awesome, thanks!
I remembered that movie demons Stones as one of my most favorite favorite movies I seen on cable I got it in my collection it's been about 9 years now I really love it and also I kind of figured that Jan Michael Vincent well not very proper and is acting ever since Airwolf got cancelled is that goes to show you that drinking and acting or all all kinds of substances do not mix I feel sorry for Emory though the only ones I love them to do when he was doing was Full Metal Jacket and Fire Down Below that's one of my most favorite movies
You should do The Frighteners
We need all Jan Michael Vincents
You can see the damage to Vincent, he aged so fast.
I always end up marathon-ing your videos when nothing else is entertaining.
:)
Auto like to all new vids before even watching em.
wait, yup! that's my country, Philippines.
Awesome! I'm finding out I have a lot of fans from the Philippines!
GoodBadFlicks Cecil, you have no idea How much your channel can grow here. Imagine we still have movies in betamax format back in 2000's. most of those are the films you've been covering are probably what we were getting pre-DVD era.
I am looking forward for your review on that movie topbilling WWE Star Owen Hart which was shot here in the Philippines. Also Brokedown Palace (topbill Claire Danes) and Legacy (topbill David Hasselhoff)
I own Ice cream Man on DVD, and had no idea Jan Michael Vincent was in it. Now I need to go back and look for him.
He plays one of the cops, it might be his most phoned in role that I've seen. He's just terrible.
I have a theory that Clint Howard is a growth from Ron Howard's body like Kuato from Total Recall.
Have you done Laserablast yet?
RIP R. Lee Ermey.. he was just the best.
The audio on your narration is warbly throughout. Jan-Michael Vincent being the highest paid actor on TV, even when Airwolf was on, is an even bigger shock than Ali MacGraw being the number-one female attraction at the box office in the early '70s.
In a world where there's only eight Jan Michael Vincents...
