    Thank you sir for providing some relatively easy licks for the pentaharp. This is exactly what so many people trying to learn the harmonica need. The harmonica being tuned to the pentatonic scale gives me hope of improving my playing more than struggling with the Richter scale on standard tuned harps. As soon as they are available to buy here in the UK I will treat myself to one. Thanks again and very best wishes Brian.

      i made the mistake of getting one in c, Wish i'd got the a straight off the bat but i already had the c by the time i figured that out.
      i'll have an a the day after the next shipment lands this month.
      this is why i asked if you have found one yet, i can easily point you to a good hohner dealer for a pentaharp if you want one.
      i'm a uk based complete beginner too btw and already i have strong opinions on it lol.
      it has a place but don't worry if you don't have one because it can't quite equal a richter playing blues for example imo.

    Great lesson just like all your stuff. My favourite is on true fire. You got skills! Do you ever do workshops in the USA?

      Hi Randall, thank you for the comment. I've never given any workshops in USA only in Europe (Belgium & Holland).

      I think it's got it's place for the enthusiast with limited ability, alongside the chromatic and diatonic.

    If you can play a diatonic harp whats the point for a Penta harp. The licks sounding pretty much like someone is a beginner …

    • @friedharper
      @friedharper  2 роки тому +4

      The licks are made for people who start out on the PentaHarp, so they're easy. However if you would play them on a diatonic in D (2nd position in A) you will have to bend, overblow & overdraw to play the same licks. The layout of the PentaHarp allows you to bend all the draw notes and overblow all the blownotes thus creating alot of new possibilities.
